The hotel was very nice and clean for the most part. I felt that it could use some updating and remodeling to the rooms, as well as a larger bathroom.

I booked this room for my parents and they were originally only going to stay one night. My dad wasn't even in the room an hour and wanted me to extend their trip another day. They said it was absolutely perfect and close to EVERYTHING they wanted to do. Everytime I called to check the reservation and when i called to extend, the staff was nothing but great! I will 110 use this hotel again when my brother has another game in the area!

While traveling to the Iowa State Fair we stayed at the the downtown Marriot hotel. We had an issue with our first room, and spoke to an operator who wasn't any help- she told us we would be placed in a hospitality room with a fold down bed, so I called again asking for the manager. He came up within 30 minutes and quickly moved us to a second room which was great! The staff was all very friendly, even took time to tell us what to see at the fair and quickest way to get there, which was very appreciated! They also ran a shuttle downtown to the fair for a fee, but it saved us a lot of time. Overall, it was a great experience. I expected a more updated room for the cost of the room, as it seemed a little outdated to me, but we would stay here again due to the fantastic staff members.

Super comfortable room. Pool was great with the kids. Much swankier than a standard hotel pool.

Stayed over night for a wedding. Just fine. The weather was great.

We wanted a hotel that was in downtown Des Moines since we were attending an event. The rate at the Marriott was much better than I expected and I hadn't stated there in years, so we selected it. The rooms were very nice, beds were super comfy, and we had a great view from the 22nd floor. Since it was a weekend, they were pretty empty and my kids were thrilled to have the pool all to themselves. We will be going to Des Moines again next month and will definitely stay there again.

THe hotel was wonderful. From the time I pulled into the valet parking until I left the hotel to return to Chicago. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff was great and helpful.

All was good except for the noisy furnace fan going on and off through the night. Not much sleep!

Needed a hotel for the night in Des Moines. Marriott is usually a trustworthy chain. The bed couldn't have been more comfortable and both room and bathroom were clean. It was a Monday night and I went to eat by the lobby bar, as it was the only thing open after a long day. The food was pretty poor quality. Hummus which was extremely dry and tasteless and a turkey club which was relatively tasteless. After settling into my room to finish watching Monday Night Football, I realized my TV had many channels that were not functioning properly, including 21, ESPN. Oh well, I turned off the light and went to sleep and called it a day.

Very clean room, friendly staff. Good location within walking distance of lots of nice restaurants and bars. Nice indoor pool. The hotel's own bar area across from the reception desk is an unacceptable arrangement as it's full of exhaust fumes from vehicles just outside the door--I couldn't stay more than 10 minutes because of the fumes.

Comfortable beds. Lovely pool with towels available. Wish there had been at least enough coffee for two cups. Room was clean. Bathroom is small but has a nice shower head. Missed having a mini fridge. Comfy reading chair and little table. Only complaint is that doors in the hall latch so loudly that they kept waking me p because I thought someone was opening and closing our door.

overall the experience was great with the following exceptions: the mattress was pretty hard and the elevators were really slow at times.

It was an easy location to get to. The staff were real nice and helpful My wife left something in the car that they had parked for us and the staff member ran to the car and retrieved the item plus my wifes cell phone which she had also left in the car. The kids had a great time in the pool and wanted to stay extra day.

The best experience was the sandwich in the restaurant.

With its central SkyWalk attached location, this was a high value stay. Great restaurant and fairly recently-remodeled rooms were huge plusses and I'd definitely stay again.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The workout room had a sufficient number of high-end cardio machines and great resistance machines. Beautiful indoor pool and hot tub.

Great location with plenty of parking

we came down for the George Strait concert a day early, had a 2-day stay planned at the hotel. No general hotel parking, valet parking was eiighhteenn/day (ridiculous) our other option was park a couple blocks over in a ramp and walk there, but at least it was free! we arrived in our room, dropped our luggage, & noticed the bedding was all feathers, which I am extremely allergic to. My husband called the frontdesk, they said they would change it, so we went out to dinner, came back, checked the pillows & they were good. About 2 hours after we went to bed I woke up unable to breathe with hives all over, turns out they changed the pillows but NOT the down comforter. There was no other option for blanket in the room! I got so sick we had to go home to MN the next day and sell our tix to the concert we'd driven 4 hours to see! They did not care that I was sick on their account, no apologies and no refund of the 2nd nites stay we had to give up. Besides that, it was SUPER loud. It sounded like there were drag races going on in the streets, little kids were running through the hallway screaming all morning[...]. NEVER AGAIN.

I went to the room by myself and was waiting for the bell boy to arrive. The bathroom had not been completely cleaned as there was a used wash rag hanging over the shower. I called right away and they gave me a new room. The bell boy escorted me there. That room was clean but much smaller than the original room. The bell boy called for me and I was moved to another room identical to the first room except clean. I didn't get an upgrade for my inconvenience, but I did get a clean room. Of course I felt I had to tip the bell boy more for moving me around to 3 different rooms but he was polite and helpful.

The hotel was great. The restaurant served me cold wings, but they made it right. Overall I like the hotel very much. Need free internet.
