We have stayed here before but on this occasion we were not told at check in that the road would be closed the following day due to derby marathon so was unable to move out of hotel Until 12 noon- this should have been advised upon check in so we could have left earlier - disappointed really. Apart from that everything was ok

Nothing special or fancy. All seems like a mash-up of everything in a small place. They should have a separate reception area. Gym is handy but it is very small. Evidently they're understaffed. I had to walk back to the bar just to get service in the restaurant. Terrible service at breakfast the following morning. Regardless whether it was busy, the table covers should be regularly changed and the buffet replenished. Most of the food had gone (it was only 0800) and all the tables were dirty. Only one staff person visible whom didn't even acknowledge the place was a mess - I was told to

We was very pleased with everything at hotel. My daughter and family was with us and was very pleased as well. We had my birthday meal in the restaurant Very good food. Only let down couple out side main door smoking and shouting till 3am. So bad night sleep. Need night porter to sort.

The hotel is situated on Pride Park in Derby, within walking distance of the train station (wish id spotted that before!) but also has a very adequate and secure on site car park. My only niggle is there was a 10k race on Sunday which meant the access roads were shut, so we couldnt leave. We were meant to be meeting family for breakfast which we had to forgo and ultimately had to pay for breakfast - an expense we were not expecting. They did give us 50% off at the time, but had we been told on check in we would have left earlier and missed the closures.

No soap in bathroom, the tv either wasn't working at all or was just really difficult to work, and the rooms are just too small in general. Would much rather of stayed in a premier inn or holiday inn for the price paid.

Recently stayed here for an event at The Roundhouse in Derby. Hotel has a lovely homely feel and makes a nice change from some chains that have a bit of a stale environment. Great location for transport links and lots of choice for breakfast.

Been here for 8 weeks on a business trip All the staff including Ash,Emma,Marley,Jack,Tyler,Laura,George, shannon,Carolina have made being away from home a lot easier by there constant fantastic customer service and personal touches, the food is amazing lots of choice- the hotel room is just what’s needed Nothing is to much trouble and they all bend over backwards and work very hard for there customers Thank you to all penta staff- front of house, chefs, bar staff, cleaners for this pleasent stay at your great hotel

Staff were very friendly. beer slightly deer no bitter. could do with more tea and milk in room. car park needed to pay for should be free to quests. Excellent place to stay close to Derby County Ground

I’m not sure that we got a good deal by booking as part of a wedding group but the £98 we paid for the double room was probably reasonable value as it did include an excellent breakfast, the separate price for which is quoted at £17, and free parking. The location is very strange, being in the “new” Derby area and on a rather soulless new business park surrounded by office buildings. The hotel has its own and very handy private adjoining car park usually charged at £5 per day. It is a very modern hotel , American-style in it’s concept. The reception area is also the bar where the staff have to carry out both jobs in a rather noisy atmosphere. The bar didn’t quite get to the pub atmosphere it was clearly trying to achieve but managed to outdo that with it’s high prices. That comment may be unfair because, as I visit the UK only a few times a year, I always find British bar prices extortionate. The hotel in general wasn’t particularly to my taste although there was nothing wrong with it. All modern facilities were available in the room although I didn’t quite understand why there was tiny stool in place of the usual bedside cupboard or shelf. I should have asked when I was there !! The shower/toilet area with gels & shampoos was basically a wet room so no bath, which my wife found rather annoying, and also, no extraction fan, which seemed a bit of a design oversight. I wouldn’t normally choose to stay in a hotel of this type, style and price bracket (unless I was offered a really good deal !!) but everything about it was just fine. The staff were very pleasant and efficient indeed, the requested iron and board were delivered to our room within twenty minutes of our arrival, we had a really lovely meal provided by our hosts in a private room (rather expensive I guess) and, to be fair, had a rather pleasant overnight stay.

We stayed here for a local wedding, all of the staff we spoke to were so helpful and friendly - we didn't really sit in the bar but it seemed decent. The room we had was quite basic, and fairly comfortable. The breakfast was superb, it had such a good choice! There was something for everyone. The hotel was only a short taxi ride into the town.
