I stayed two nights when visiting for a conference and found the room to be clean, the bathroom functional and the furniture to be adequate for my needs. Staff were friendly on check-in. The breakfast seemed to contain enough choices to keep most people happy, with a range of hot items delivered to order, plus a selection of continental options available as a buffet. My room was at the back of the hotel and was quiet. Others noted noise issues from thin walls, although I did not experience any problems. I have rated as 4* as for the price, the hotel met my expectation of a decent stop for 2 nights with breakfast for someone who spent relatively little time in the room.

A problem with my booking was a bad start that was not down to the hotel, but the room I was checked into was small and the bed scruffy and tired. A hint of cigarette smoke prevailed throughout the hotel. On the positive side, my room was quiet and the breakfast was good

Older Male Staff at reception at check in not very friendly (a smile and eye contact would be nice) Room was nice and clean lots of room well decorated Bed comfy shower hot bathroom well appointed apart from not being able to fully open the door as it hit the bath Radiator in bathroom was on continuous and made a lot of noise Diner on night was ok for meat eater but for me there was only 1 choice of macaroni cheese which when it arrived was in a bowl and very runny almost watery . When I commented on this I was given a spoon to eat it with hasten to say I didn’t... Breakfast was great lots of choice of continental and cooked Check out was simple

I was expecting something negative about this hotel due to the fact that every hotel I've stayed at in the past I've had to raise issues with them. I could not fault this hotel at all, the staff welcomed us in a polite and friendly manner. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean and stayed clean throughout our stay, fresh towels, sheets etc. We had a lovely breakfast each morning with a very good selection of cereals fruit yogurts croissants pancakes fresh rolls you could also order a full English breakfast too.The cooked food was bought to our table within minutes. For what we paid for three nights it was very good value. It was ideal base for us to explore other area's derby rail station was about 7min away walking and the bus station about 10min walking. Overall this was a pleasant stay for us and it was kind of the reception staff to return my telephone call to say they had found my reading glasses.

cannot thank the team here enough, putting together my dream day in 5 weeks. Tina called me after my panic email, because of a problem with another venue she was amazing, calmed me down and said she and her team could help. And they did we had an amazing day. The staff could not have done enough for us, we were made to feel special and were well looked after, as were our guests. Would recommend anyone thinking of getting married to put this hotel at the top of your list.

Me and my husband stayed here just for a night away, we paid through groupon for £58. We got breakfast, a 2 course meal and a free drink on arrival. We got upgraded from a double to a juniour suite for free which was nice! The beds are really comfy and clean. The room is bigger then i thought it would be aswell. The only thing wrong with it was a loud whistle noise comming from the bathroom every now and then but it wasnt too bad. The food from xs restsurant was amazing! We both had fish and chips which were so tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would stay again!

The bar and restaurant are very clean and welcoming; all staff were excellent. Room was big enough and comfortable. I got a pizza in the bar and it was soggy which was disappointing. Also for breakfast I ordered 2 poached eggs and beans on toast. This took nearly 30 minutes to get to me. Overall it’s a nice hotel very central to the shops and bars etc.

Ideal hotel while in Derby for business. Pleasant friendly staff, and happy to help. Rooms well presented and clean and tidy. Decent bar, but restaurant was a bit hit and miss the first night - was ten of us do maybe why, but staff helpful and apologetic regards late food etc. Will stay here sgain👍🏻

Stayed here once, really nice hotel close to local ammenities, nice look friendly staff and a nice hotel. highly reccomended. only problem we had was a break in that happened on the night we stopped in the car park, luckily our car wasnt targeted.

Upon arrival to the hotel we had nowhere to park our car, however there is nothing on the website to notify guests that there is limited parking. Check in was straight forward and reception area was nice, bright and clean. Unfortunately we were directed the wrong way to find our room. Once we located our room we found it to be clean and tidy, which was slightly different to the stained carpets in the corridor. We stayed at this hotel for two nights, the first night resulted in us being woken at 0230 with noise from the guests in the next room. We could hear their TV and their conversation. After persevering for 1.5 hours we made a call down to reception to complain about the noise. The hotel staff were very efficient and within 5 minutes we heard a knock on the door and the guests next door being asked to turn the volume down. Unfortunately our second night was very much the same, however it came to our attention that it was not that the first night there were noisy guests in the next room, as on the second night we could hear the new guests having an ordinary level conversation, and we could even hear them snoring when they fell asleep! It appears that this hotel just has paper thin walls! This is rated as a 4 star hotel, and rooms approximately £65 per night. I definitely would not recommend this hotel and we will not be returning.
