Stay here quite regular and its getting worse. Room held together with silicone and self taping screws. Ink syained carpet. Door lock didnt lock from the inside. Shower screen position badly and stuck in place with silicone. Toilet door only locks because it has a screw stuck in the frame instead of a professional repair. Lack of sockets near bed. Cook at breakfast all grumpy even though i was only doing what her colleauge said. Think she needs to realise she works in a service industry!

Greeted by very friendly receptionist fast & efficient check in Free upgrade was a lovely touch Rooms very stylish & clean everything you would need Great location close to railway station 10 minutes walk to shopping centre Restaurants & bars close by all without the hassle of city centre This is always our hotel of choice when staying in Derby.

This hotel would have been quiet posh in its day. It now has a warm atmosphere of faded grandure. I loved the sweeping staircase to our room. We had a pleasant en-suite room with all the usual amenities and good storage. The room was warm and the bed comfortable - Just what we needed for a cold snowy night in March. We asked for a quiet room, so was a little disappointed to be asigned one at the front overlooking the road. There room wasn't as quiet as we would have liked; thankfully the weather meant very little traffic. The only other gripe was the threadbare carpets. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that, but the staff we met were friendly and helpful.

This is one of the regular hotels my business books is in and I have to say that the quality of the accommodation is deteriorating. The room I stayed in, 212, has a carpet that is almost see through and a shower that has seen better days. The room was over hot and an adjoining door didn't help with other guests TV sounding like it was in my room. On the positive side the hotel staff are excellent and couldn't do enough for you. If you want a good nights sleep avoid this hotel like the plague!

In the heydays of steam, this hotel (opposite the railway station) must have been attractive. It still has a wide staircase in the back (worth a detour). It's clean, the bed is good, lighting poor. Refuse the room that is over a radio that plays a bass all day long. It's a 20-minute walk to the cathedral. Florence Nightingale is depicted there.

Stayed here a few times now. Location is great, being opposite Railway station. Staff friendly and rooms are clean with good facilities. Cooked Breakfasts are always disappointing as Ban Marie’s don’t keep food hot. But good for a stopover and good value for money.

An easy hotel to find as it is right by the train station but has ample secure parking at its rear. The lady on reception was beaming with a smile as I arrived and made me feel very welcome. The rooms are average size with a good bathroom and a very comfortable bed! I will certainly be considering the Aston Court again when in Derby!

Room freezing cold on arrival, radiator did not work properly and kept turning itself off. Asked for an additional blanket which I eventually received 2 hours later. Hotel is in need of general refurbishment; I stayed in room 307 and the bathroom had a funny smell upon arrival which could explain which the housekeeper left the fan on when I was out of the hotel. The shower room was tiny and shelf fixings were rusty, I'm only 5ft 4 but knocked my elbows a few times. Additionally, I had no wifi for the duration of my visit I was told on two occasions that the router was being rebooted - not really acceptable in this day and age, especially as I was on a training course and needed to work! On the +ve - the housekeeper kept the room spotless, the train station is a few minutes walk away. Handy for London Road Hospital if you are on a training course (although try the place around the corner first). Short walk to town.

Room/hotel is abit outdated but clean and tidy. For around £50 for a hotel close to station is very good value. Not going to recommend the food however as everything seemed to be luckwarm, and for the money i'd certainly go elsewhere.... Only had food as company pays on top of room. All in all, will use again though..

Traditional hotel that was clean and easy to be in. The staff were courteous, efficient and accommodating; they would be a credit to any hotel anywhere. Good facilities including food and free car parking in their large car park.
