Very good location! Very close but not "on" the 16th street mall, the art museums, the capitol and courthouses. We liked this hotel (ok. hostel!) from another era. The building has not undergone any major renovations to change its character. We had a separate room with bath. The bathtub was a claw free standing one, not a new one, but an 'original'. It had been reglazed so it was OK to use. The radiators are fantastic looking, best radiators we have ever seen. Beautifully painted! We were there in the mid of a summer heat wave. The property doesn't have air conditioning. Need I say more? We fried. No elevator, 3 stories walk up. Good-n-cheap should be the mark here. Should be great for single travelers on a budget or a whole family on a budget. Most of the hotel is european style rooms with communal bathrooms.

Staff were friendly, cheap, huge room, bed was ok, worth the money and great location

great hotel great location needs airport service and complimentary breakfasts

The person that checked us in was rude twards my husband and I. His attitude was horrible. Also the bathrooms were filfy.. getting up in the middle of the night was horrible cause the bathroom was disgusting.

Had some mites in my bed. Wish they'd vacuum more frequently

Location is convenient, but everything else is basic. I booked for a private room with a bathroom, but couldn't use it for shower, ended up going to the shared bathroom instead - disappointed. Reason? Bathtub has no shower head, only taps. The taps have been dripping, resulting in some noticeable rust in the bathtub, it's a health risk to soak in a bath. Also, the room was really warm (September), even during night time. The window blinds didn't shut fully, about a foot off, could see people and lights from the room opposite, no privacy.

Cheap hostel style hotel in the center of the city. Near everything. A bit noisy Thursday - Saturday nights.

Typical hostel with shared facilities. Private room was nice. There is no air conditioning in the entire building. On a warm summer day it can get unpleasant. They do provide fans.

Afordable rate.nice common area. Good tacos across the street

It's was good and clean. Different from what I've seen before.

There was no hot water! I ran the shower for several minutes, and it never got hot. Aside from that, it was decent for the price. The staff was nice and the room was what you'd expect for $53. The hall kind of smelled bad, though.

I complain about the noise of my neighbor but no one did anything. Also when offering this hotel you quoted price as $34 a night. But this price isn't true. They charge 2 to 3 times that amount.

It's a hostel. You're getting what you pay for. The room itself was fairly large. But oddly designed. Not a good distribution of bathrooms.

This very old building needs updating. The private Family Room we had was spacious with a newer bathroom and newer paint and woodwork. Everything worked fine and was clean. The first room we had was a private room for two that was very old and in desperate need of updating. The bathroom was from about 1910-1920 for real. The window wood was rotten and original from 1910-1920.The room and bathroom were clean. The drunks outside the hotel kept us up until 2:30 am on a weeknight with our window closed on the second floor on the side of the hotel. The front desk cheerfully accommodated us the next morning with the Family Room. Room 346 is great. Some of the hotel guests were not the expected young backpackers but “down on their luck” folks that live at this hotel longer term. Some of the guest were a bit “odd” and definitely not tourists. The Community Room has a refrigerator where you can put your food. There are several kitchen appliances with microwave oven. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

Convenient to down town, walking distance. There were some homeless people on the walk to downtown but never felt in danger. Actually quite comfortable even after dark.

Staid here with two friends while we were in town for a music festival. Really affordable and friendly place located in an interesting part of the city with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel/ hostel is a historic building and has been there for easily 70 years. It definitely has character in the best sort of way and you can see the history of the place in both the floor plan of the hotel and the architecture. One thing to keep in mind is that most of the rooms do not have AC or ceiling fans. It can get pretty warm during the summer and the only one provided is a tiny plug-in one. We asked for something larger and were told they didn't have anything. It would be a good idea for them to invest in some box fans for those that request a bigger fan. Keep in mind, this is definitely a budget hotel. Stay here if you want a clean, safe place to sleep in a central part of the city. This is not a luxury hotel, so set your expectations accordingly and you'll have a great experience.

This facility has certainly seen better days. From the moment I walked in, my only thought was this is an amateur run business desperately trying to cover it up with a veneer or professionalism. Travelers take note, this hotel does not have A/C, so if you have a room on the main street, good luck sleeping. It was also advertised that there is a ceiling fan. There is not. My room had a tiny fan that you might find at walmart and was totally inadequate for the size of the room. The shared bathrooms and shower get very little attention and cleaning.

The hostel was clean, the people were friendly, and the location was close to downtown. I feel like I should reiterate this. This is a hostel. Don't write scathing reviews about how you had to sleep in a room with other people, or if you had your own room, how the bathroom was shared. Read the not-so-fine-print. Knowing that's it's half the price of any other hotel in the area should tip you off. I'd be happy to stay here again.

Friendly staff that was available 24/7. Felt secure. Close to cheap, public parking. Conveniently near local restaurants.

Hey there! Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to provide complimentary airport service, but have easy access to all public transit, which we feel does the job we cannot do to the level of excellence we would like to. We are working towards breakfast options - so stay tuned!

Hi Krystal, I'm really sorry to hear this was your experience, it's definitely not our standard! Filthy bathrooms as well... I'm sorry, we clean them 2-3 times daily, so I apologize. Did you let the front desk know the bathrooms were not up to your standards? We're happy to address that immediately!

I'm sorry to hear this was your experience - it's definitely not what we strive for! The room you stayed in is slated for a remodel so we can incorporate shower heads, so thank you for the suggestion! We are working towards that as quickly as we can. We are also working on creative solutions to cool the building until we can upgrade to A/C. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate your feedback.

Hi there, Sorry your experience was less than optimal. We are working on updating our building (115 years old!) to support AC. We hope you'll stop by again on your next visit to Denver.
