we had a gala time at yellow brick lane restaurant with my friends over drinks. lateron we had dinner too. this hotel exudes old world charm and gives a homely feeling. though service needs a little leg up but ambiance is not doubt top class.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Taj Ambassador. My room was spacious and the bathroom large and modern. The staff could not be more attentive. The food in the restaurant is varied with both Indian and western items. The breakfast was excellent and included in the rate. Although there are far more elegant hotels in Delhi, this hotel is a good value and you will get a good night's sleep at a hotel in an excellent location.
We spent 3 nights in total at each end of our recent trip to India. The hotel is in a good location with easy accessibility to all the sights and shopping areas, especially Khan market. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the porters and bell captain. The breakfast at the Yellow Brick Road diner is really good and service there is first rate - special mention for Vikas, Prakash and the young lady there. The rooms are spacious but really need modernising and updating. On our first night, we felt the dampness in the room and therefore, on our return back we were given another room. However, the bathrooms are outdated and the management and Taj group need to invest back into this property.
We was for coffe there with friends. First of all, space in hotel is amazing with a lot of glass and also very beautiful fontane in center of hotel outside.. Waithers was very polite, and also we get some cheese plate with amazing tastes ☺️
A friend recommended the Vivanti by Taj Ambassador in Delhi. First impression was good, but that disappeared once we got beyond the public spaces. Our bedroom was very tired - bordering on tatty. The bathroom was particularly down at heel, with misfitted tiles and badly executed repairs.
My husband and I stayed at the Taj Vivanta Ambassador for over a week as we were working in Delhi. First of all, the location is wonderful. You can walk out the door and be in Khan Market in minutes -- which is rich with shops and restaurants and book stores. It is also very close to so many other Delhi Landmarks. The hotel itself is safe and quiet. And well run and clean. I love heritage hotels, and this property is done very well. Old meets new here. The service was great, and we ended up eating at the hotel several times because of work -- and the food and drink were great. Staff was lovely. My only downside is I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to say there is a spa there. It's basically one room. I'd skip any treatment there, and find a place in Khan Market or at one of the bigger hotels if you want spa services. But otherwise, I would stay there in a heartbeat. Great, well run property!
Friendliest staff we came across in the hotels nothing was a problem. An Indian friend booked this for us and got it for£50 a night. When we tried it was a £100. Very good buffet evening and breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful stay and looking after us so well. Please make a smoking area with tables and and drinks service and it would be perfect.
First things strikes about this property is not its location or its old charm grandeur. But its people. They are so warm and friendly, you instantly feel secure and home. Each of the members of this property whom I came across - are passionate, customer friendly and highly attentive. You will notice this noticeable attitude from the moment you enter the property, from the security who frisks you, followed by the doorman to the front desk executive. No wonder some of the occupants whom I have interacted with, are comfortable repeatedly visiting this place to stay. People indeed makes the difference. I love their open air break fast facility and wide choices of buffet facility. Don't miss their traditional North Indian dishes which you can order. Choices for Vegetarian is one of the best I found on the spread. Incidentally their in room dining options are a real good value for money. If you are one of those leisure types you can go visit their bar which do have a happy hour menu with the widest range of spirits to lift your moods. Certain tailor made cocktails are worth tasting. The biggest advantage of this property is its location. Next door you have the Delhi's famous Khan market just a walking distance. Over all a fantastic prop, nice people, great food and a bar to relish, this is the choice to be considered.
This was our second visit to Ambassador Delhi. Last time around, it was a pleasant stay, but we felt it missed the Taj touch that we are so used to. We were sure that it was a one off case, and decided to stay here again in Oct last month. This time Ambassador didn't disappoint us. Check-in process was fast. Room that we got this time was pretty big with a small sitting room attached. This time balcony of our room opened on the outside and offered good views. We were not happy with this point last time as it opened on the inside with view of under-construction dome. Room was nicely done with a beautiful large bouquet of flower adding to its charm. Staff was prompt and helpful. These are the guys who ensure that Taj touch more than anything, and we were glad with the service they provided. Food was amazing and so was the in-room dining that we extensively used. We had an early morning train to catch and had requested packed breakfast for the kids. It was ready on time and was sufficient enough to last us the whole journey for them! These may be small things, but matters a lot especially while travelling with young kids. Overall we had great time, and will surely choose Ambassador again next time we are in Delhi.
The rooms are of extraordinary designs. From the quality of the linens to the choice in furniture, it was really nice. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The only issue i had was that the pool was under renovation so they were providing a shuttle service to the other Taj property (3-5 mins away) to use the pool services there, which i did not opt for. The food menu has some great options and my order was quick to come and was delicious. The breakfast region is tiny though and thus options aren't as varied as other Taj properties usually have. The location is perfect. Its close a bunch of exciting things.
