My family and I were travelling from Toronto Ontario Canada to Florida for Christmas holidays. I booked that place because we have stayed at a travelodge before with no issues but this place shouldn't be in business. The rooms smelled like smoke although the motel is non smoking. The hallways smelled like people were smoking cigarettes and weed and the odor found its way into our room. I was there with my wife and 2 kids (5 & 2 years old) and if it wasn't for the fact it was already 11pm and we needed to be back in the road by 6am I would of left. My wife didn't sleep a wink because of red Norseman the hotel and I maybe got a few hours just based on exhaustion. DON'T STAY HERE. WORST KIA TAKE YOU COULD EVER MAKE!
If you can spend a few more $$s to stay at a better hotel, please do so, I asked for a non-smoking room and the room I was given smelled like cigarette smoke and whatever else. The bathroom door was dry rot and had a split in the bottom. The bedspread was ripped.
The entire corridor to the rooms smelled of cigarette. You need a gas mask to walk through. Carpet in the corridors and room were stained, smelly and dirty. Breakfast coffee was cold. But the staff were friendly and efficient. Good people-service but bad physical-facilities.
Cheapest price. Lady said I could use carriage to bring my luggage to the room, it had a flat tire. Dead bugs, cobwebs, spider on ceiling. They run two motel names out of one desk and get confused.
We arrived to a hallway that smelled like cigarette smoke to go to our supposedly non-smoking room...upon settling our stuff around the room, noticed there was cigarette ash on the table and the surrounding floor...called the front desk to clean up the mess...the lady from front desk vacuum and brought air freshener but there was still a faint smoke scent lingering in the room...come to findout that 2 doors down, the nonsmoking door label was taken off, and when the occupant opened the door, the cigarette smell rolls into the hallway! Generally, you pay extra to get nonsmoking rooms but if they will turn smoking rooms around your nonsmoking room, what is the difference?!
Reserved online, arrived no clerk at desk for 45 min, checked in, place had rips, tears, and stains, no microwave in room(told cant trust employees), woke up at 130am by kids and drunk parents in hall, they proceeded to threaten us, then when to their room, where he beat his wife, management wouldn't call police, seems they live there, breakfast was only muffins, checked out asap, the guy was following us around and watching our car. Guess hotels make more money on the people that live there monthly
Although Travelodge is in an excellent location and the staff was as nice and helpful as could be, the facility itself was not up to standard. Several rooms were not clean upon check in, so we had to be put in the only room available and yet this room was not clean either, especially the bathroom. After our second night the toilet quit working. After waiting and several complaints we were finally moved to another room. The staff was very nice, but I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
The toilet was anti Hygenic Stains on the mattress and sheets Wholes on the sheets No covers All the rooms smelled like dogs and smoke No designated Pet Rooms Holes in the Walls Thin Walls No Tempeture Control, it was either too Hot or too Cold They come banging on your door to CHECK OUT Doors are held with pebbles which means anyone can enter TV resolution was Horrible Just A Horrific Place Parking lot was extremely icy, no salt was put out which caused me to slip and fall
All I can say is that I was glad I only needed it for 3 hours! Front desk staff of 1 was less than inviting. She was more interested in playing with her phone than checking me in. Not helpful at all. Then I wanted a bottle of water out of the machine and I kept putting more and more money in but no water... I asked her how much it was as the machine was not marked. She said did you try a different choice and I said no because I don't drink soda. Well.. I ended up with a sugar coated sprite! I would not recommend this property.
No stars, ZERO, but Trip Advisor makes you add a least one. This is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I considered sleeping in my car, if was warmer I would have. Run! Do not stay here or the Knights Inn, they are actually attached to one another. It's not safe, the doors to the outside are not locked and are broken, held open with rocks in the corner preventing door from closing. you or anyone can freely go between the floors of the Knights Inn and Travel Lodge. I asked for a no smoking room, the room is labeled no smoking. but the first thing that hits you when you walk through the broken back door, is the stale over overwhelming stench of cigarettes, That's so bad it chokes. Agh! The room doesn't smell quite as bad but the Stench creeps under the door to choke you; my solution was to put a towel at the base of the door to prevent the stench from overwhelming me in the room. The rooms have chain locks as well as card locks. No real toiletries. I haven't seen cockroaches or bed bugs but I'm not sleeping in that bed. B/c not sure how clean it is. Also, when I checked in, I left a light on b/c I was coming back at night and didn't want to come into a dark room. I also left the toilet seat up. But when I came back the lights have been turned off in the toilet seat was down someone had been in the room. I called the front desk and asked who had been in my room. She said only housekeeping would come into the room I asked why would she come back to this room and the clerk said she didn't know. That brings up another thing I deliberately did not bring in my overnight bag or belongings in because I was afraid someone might steal my stuff; thank God I didn't bring it in!! tonight I left all my belongings in the car.
