Our one bedroom apartment in the MARINA VIEW block had great views over the marina. It is within walking distance of the numerous restaurants and bars on the marina. Also a very good bus service to the city centre - we normally stay on the Esplanade in the CBD, but this was a nice change.Only complaint was the shower/bath, as it was quite difficult getting in and out of the bathtub (very high sides).
Nice stay but a bit tired looking now, needs a bit of an upgrade. Pool area great, with very clean pool and spa & cover over kids pool. Staff very friendly & helpful. 2 bedroom was quite a nice size and had everything you need. Nice size balcony. Quite a busy street so there some traffic noise.
we were advised by our neighbours in Melbourne to stay in the City, but found these apartments, it was at short notice and loads of places filling up. When we first entered the room it was a bit dissappointing and we did think of asking for an upgrade, it was a bit empty and plain, but then decided our place was clean, didnt get the mid day sun but was facing the street, we hoped we wouldnt be in the room for long, our room proved to be excellant, the lifts were fast, bed really comfy, aircon worked extremely well. Like we said we didnt stay in the room very long, we were so close to the Mariner, brilliant restaurants, beach for the sunset 5 mins down the hill, the boats and paying guests were coming along in front of our beach!, we didnt pay a thing for the view. If we come again to Darwin we will try and get an apartment on a higher floor so that we might get a better view for our own sunset viewing and fireworks from Mindil beach on Thurs.
Stayed for three nights for work and would not stay again as the rooms are old, furniture is mismatched, shared balcony with the room next door which is weird when you are staying alone and don't know the people sharing the balcony! There may be some updated rooms but the room I stayed in did not look anything like the rooms shown on the website and there are far better options at a similar price to stay at in Darwin.
Not sure of condition of other units but building looks very tired! Our apartment, was small with one small ensuite style bathroom, In a sad sad state with broken furniture, blinds held up with peg, had to request bath mat, hand towel and face washer, and extra soap ( we were given one single tiny soap) Shower flooded each time one of the four adults used it. Kitchen mixer taps were broken On the up side, nice verandah with view, air con worked, staff friendly and helpful, and location a 10 dollar cab to most places in town, walking distance to restaurants on the Marin
Stayed for two weeks on the 6thfloor room 509, had the best time. We had the most amazing views, loved that we had own washing machine and dryer, being able to cook if wanted was a bonus, had a wonderful holiday and the staff were so lovely, we have booked for the same time next year only longer, can't wait
Cullen Bay apartments provide a good bolthole when visiting Darwin. The building is a little dated and shabby, but ours had a great view of Cullen Bay and beyond. We were disturbed by smokers on other balconies and noises of the next apartment making breakfast first thing in the morning, but otherwise found it comfortable. While a bit inconvenient before we picked up a car, there are many restaurants and other services , like a laundromat, nearby.
Great apartment with kitchen on the 7th floor overlooking the marina. Air conditioning was perfect. Pleasant swimming pool and always ample car-parking. Staff were more then helpful with any request. Our only negative comment would relate to the kitchen. More attention should be made to those who wish to self-cater rather than takeaway and restaurant visits. We found utensils and serving dishes etc were lacking and the appliances need upgrading. We understand this is the responsibility of the owner of the apartment. Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed ours stay.

Spent 10 nights at this property. Great location and great apartment. Property has 3 pools, so loads of choice there. I would have given 5 stars, except for one thing - the shower was terrible (no water pressure)! Very clean and comfortable though and the staff were friendly and helpful. Cullen Bay is a 5 minute drive from the nearest supermarket, but reception has a good range of basic items (milk etc) to tide you over until you can sort yourself out. Secure car-parking available on site too, which is a bonus. Best of all - within walking distance of a range of restaurants.
