I'd expected a lot better price/service level than experienced in this, rather dated and not so clean, hotel. Everything felt a little bit fuzzy and the bathroom hygiene could be a lot better. I mean a lot! Although the breakfast seemed to be varied and on a quit large scale, unfortunately the quality of the food en drinks were average. It was like 'keeping up appearances' instead of offering a genuine and healthy breakfast (of choice), which could be easily sourced for a great deal in the local market.
We spent 5 nights in the hotel , doing bicycle trips in the area , We had a great time in the hotel and liked everything about it ,especially the pool area and facilities. The breakfast was very good.
Great, kind, efficient service throughout hotel! Delicious food! Beautiful views! Quiet stay! Walked to town and to tour boat! Shuttle to and from train station! We will recommend to our friends! Wachau Valley is a beautiful area to visit!
Whish I could have stayd a couple of more days at the Steigenberger Hotel. Didn't have the time to enjoy the great Spa with two pools and Saunas. But I had ime to enjoy the spacious room and a really good breakfast. If you are in this area take time to visit Domaine Wachau in Durnstein. and enjoy some great wines.
Adequate but nothing more. Services is lacking. Services staff reply in a mechanical away and advice given was half hearted. Room is average. No complimentary bottled water was given, and you can't buy any within the premise.
This is my first time to Austria and everything is good. Austria is a beautiful country and have very good beer. I enjoyed the country side very much and I enjoyed the wild mushrooms that we collected in the farm.
Booked in for a one night break whilst visiting the wine region. Room well appointed and location great (albeit up a rather steep hill) for exploring the pretty town. Food was good and came in buffett style which suited us as we were travelling with a baby so gave us the flexibility. Tried the spa facilities which were very good - decent sized pool and outdoors hot tub with view of the hills was great. Staff also very accommodating and turned on the finnish sauna early to suit our timetable. Made me think I would look for this brand hotel in future.
We were looking for a comfortable hotel in a beautiful spot that was self/contained. We loved this hotel. The food was excellent, the pool lovely with a view of the town and vineyards. We were very happy here!
The rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was tasty. Hotel is on the side of the hill and a little ways from the town, but cycling around is easy with the rental bikes available at many areas. We discovered a vineyard connected to the back of the hotel, it had the best view of Krems and the Danube. Really beautiful!
Everything was first rate especially our suite. We hope to return for the Grafenegg Festival next year. The location is very convenient not only for the Festival but also for various historic sites worth visiting in the area. Also an easy drive from Vienna and its airport.
