What I really liked about this hotel was their staff!!! They were super polite paying attention to their customers' needs so very well especially the doorman/porter person (who was always reading a bible or some type of book:) as he stood in front of the entrance door was doing such a great job!! The front staff, restaurant staff, and everyone were very nice!! Thanks also to the front staff lady who helped me with calling Bolivia hop, calling a cab, cancelling a cab, and etc.!!) I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in total. 2 nights before Lares trek, and 2 nights after the trek stayed 3 different rooms (both regular room and superior room). They let me check in earlier than their regular check in time. While I was waiting for the room to be ready, they let me wait in their bar, and served me a coca tea, which was nice:) The location was excellent near the market. The rooms were very comfortable. Their pillows were very soft and nice:) There were many different teas (coca, muna, and etc) and hot water available all the time at the common area. I took a pot of tea into my room to drink all the time, which I really liked!! They also had some oxygen service available that I used as my body was adjusting to the high altitude. Their breakfast was very good ( I liked their strawberry juice, strawberry kefi!!r). They left a chocolate on my bed every day, which was a nice touch!!! (please see attached photo. I found the same chocolate sold at the store called chocolate Ruro in case anyone liked the chocolates and wants to buy:). I checked out the hotel 2:30am to take my early morning flight. I was really really impressed when they handed me a packed breakfast as I was leaving!!!! I knew they pack breakfast for customers upon requests, but I wasn't expecting it was coming at all since I didn't request it!!! It was very very nice of them doing that!! I had great stays thanks to the staff!!!:)
PROS: -HEATER: i say this in caps because I went in July and almost every hostel/hotel I stayed in was freezing at night in cusco, but not this one, not only are the blankets warm, they have a heater -warm shower: again like the heater, a hot commodity in cusco -breakfast: delicious, and not just bread and butter, they have eggs, fruit, sausages etc -safe: felt very safe -staff: very polite, very nice, let us hangout till 10pm in the bar/common room after we checked out while we waited for our bus to bolivia -ambiance: hotel decor is very pretty -location: 5 min walk to the plaza de armes, close to laundry, pharmacy, tours, lots of food places -clean -bed: soft and heavenly CONS: -more pricier than most places in cusco, but in life you get what you pay for, and I felt extremely satisfied we booked this hotel for 2 night after doing the salkantay trek, and it was worth it especially after sleeping in tents for 5 days best place I stayed at in all of my Peru travel and I would 100% stay here again
I stayed at Andean Wings for 7 nights to recover from three months of travels and being on the go. The rooms were warm, clean and have hot water, which is what I needed to rest and recover to continue the next leg of my journey. They offer cleaning your room everyday. The staff were mostly nice although did not seem to look happy. The staff's English is limited to very minimal, so asking them questions or speaking to them can be a little frustrating when I was in need of answers. This seems to be normal travelling around Cusco, even though it is touristic, not many staff working in the tourist industry speak English to a level of conversation. The wifi was poor in my room and I couldn't do much on the internet in my room, so if I needed to load pictures, an email attachment or make a phone call on whatsapp I would need to go out to the restaurant area or the bar area where the wifi worked better. The breakfast was great. A choice of cereals, fruits, juices, cheese, breads, vegetables, sausage, eggs, jams, olives, pancakes, plain cupcakes, Herbal teas, black coffee, milk and more. 6am till 10am
Wow. Rooms are around $100 through Expedia (less for twins, more for kings). Chose this hotel based on other TripAdvisor reviews. Checked in after 4 days of trekking from Lares to Machu Picchu (with a train ride stuck in there). What a wonderful surprise. Before our trek, we spent a few nights at another hotel which cost about the same, but was austere, cold, and uncomfortable in comparison. The little courtyard where they serve meals is a treat. The service? Almost too good. The in-house chef is great, so we ended up eating two of our three dinners here. It's about three well lit and busy blocks from Plaza de Armas, the main square. We felt comfortable outside at all hours. Despite the proximity, because the rooms do not face the street, it was very quiet... which we desperately needed after 3 nights sleeping along the various Inca trains. I give this place two thumbs up. If I had a third hand, it would be three.
It is a beautiful facility, with all the comfort in the world. The cozy and beautiful atmosphere makes you happy to come "home" after a long day of sightseeing. The constant amenities, like free tea (of every kind) and Chocotejas they leave on your pillow everyday makes this place so much more than just a hotel. The staff is always kind, helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. The restaurant is also one of a kind, the food is great with a small but extremely varied menu. We dined twice in the restaurant, so worth it. Not only is the hotel and staff amazing, but its location is perfect. So close to the city center, Plaza de Armas, makes it very easy to get around.
We loved the Andean Wings Boutique Hotel. Great location near the Plaza De Armas and in the heart of Cusco. The friendly service was top notch, the rooms were quaint, very comfortable and spacious. The restaurant served excellent breakfasts rotating between buffets and ordering from the menu. Dinner was very good as well and the host (who looks like John Lovitz :) ) made sure he attended to every need watching over us ever time we frequented the restaurant and bar. The staff looked after all our wishes and treated us like friends. When we went on the 4 day trek to the Sacred Valley they held our luggage and on our return upgraded our rooms without us asking. Great job Andean, thanks for making our stay in Cusco very enjoyable.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights: two before our trip to Machu Picchu and the last night before our flight to Lima. The hotel does not impress from the outside at all but the location is perfect near Plaza the Armas. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and were offered coca tea and vouchers for pisco sours at the bar. They also had a nice tray with snacks in our room and free water bottles. They also have turned down service that includes delicious Peruvian chocolates on the pillow. Our room was on the second floor (212). The hotel was very quiet and we were the only ones on that floor. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The free Wifi was OK in the room but a lot better near the restaurant. There was a beautifully decorated large seating area right outside our room. The central courtyard, where the restaurant is located, is decorated beautifully. Breakfast was included and we had the buffet breakfast the first morning. They did not have the buffet for the second day and we were offered a delicious a-la-carte breakfast. We left very early on our last day and they gave us a box breakfast to take with us to the airport. We loved this hotel and the staff. The service they provide is excellent. They even helped us with making calls when the WiFi router we rented from our tour company did not have data. They also kept our luggage in storage while we went to Machu Picchu. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great facilities and location. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a real pleasure to stay here. We were given a personal welcome, room and facilities explained and the staff also helped us check in for our flight when mobile check in was not available.
Very impressed with Andean Wings. Arrived early morning in Cusco 5 am , they send a taxi. As soon as I reached the hotel , they were very welcoming and offered coca tea. Location was great, walking from main square Plaza de Armas. Room was clean, first 3 days we stayed in the 1st floor. Breakfast had a good choice....cereals. eggs, breads, juice etc. Servers were very courteous and attentive. First night had dinner at the hotel, was very decent food. Met one of the owners , Fernando, who stopped by. We had a nice discussion, cool guy. Next two days pretty routine. The front desk staff was also very polite and helpful. Eva was superb and nice. We did the Inca trail and came back after 4 days. Our room was ready, left luggage already in the room. Felt like coming back home. I would recommend Andean Wings to everybody. Good job guys.
Great hotel. Nice and responsive staff. Fantastic location. I only wish our room had windows. It only had a sky light which made the room feel dark. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home.
