Harbor Hotel Batel3.0 out of 5.0

We wanted to spend the weekend in Curitiba in a rather non expensive in Batel area. At first, reception seems fine, but you get a little bit unconfortable with a couple of old elevators. You get to the rooms, well called apartment and I was happy to have a kitchennette and a couch, a TV that rotates and a closet that makes a division between the living room area and the bedroom, but when I step into the kitchennette there were no silverware nor glasses, cup, nothing, just the sink, the frigobar full of packed bottles with no price on them. The same you get on the bathroom: liquid soap, no shampoo either. The towels are really old, one of the had a hole even. The air conditioning was very loud, I didn't use it at night, luckily, it's not the warmest season. The worst thing is the noise of the street, I don't understand what is with removing the mufflers, but you hear the noise o the street the whole day, you need to be really tired no to hear it, you can even hear the planes. I don't want to talk about the "gym", they shouldn't called it like that, just and old treadmill which, a benchpress with no disk and some dumbells with no pair. The breakfast is not bad, quite generous, but the standard in the area, don't get too excited, although it has more fresh fruits than other places. If you are on a tight budget and you want to stay in Batel, this might be your place, but don't say we didn't warned you
Stayed at the Hotel for his convenient location. It is definitely not worth its 4 star rating. Making an effort it is a maybe 3 star hotel. Furniture. curtains, bed sheets and towels are old and not very well taken care of. First and last time there for me.
First off, the staff at the desk didn't even mentioned the hotel has a swimming pool, sauna and gym. Also, we requested a double bed and ended up with a DUAL bed bedroom (two beds attached to form a "big bed", with a "trench" in the middle of it). On top of that, the room furniture is old and inadequate, bulky and comfort level is way below the price they charge customers. For me, not worth the price. On the other hand, the breakfast is very rich and varied, with lots of fruits, breads, cakes and juices. Delicious!
This is the second time we've had weeklong stays. The hotel is neat, clean and adequately priced. Rooms are a good size and the bed's comfortable. The staff is courteous and the free breakfast is nice. While it isn't a 5-star hotel, it has been pleasant and trustworthy. Be sure to visit the Chokolat shop next door if you are looking for coffee and pastries.
Just stayed 2 nights at the Harbor Hotel Batel for a short business trip. Nice experience though. The hotel is a bit old school and the rooms are a bit dated, everything was nice and clean though. Room was surprisingly big, a small kitchenette was a nice bonus. Breakfast was really good, surprisingly good to be honest. Very nice and wide selection. Fresh fruit was great. Coffee was among the best I've ever had. Hotel is located in a nice area with loads of eateries and pubs. The only "complaint" I have is that the English level among the staff is quite low or even non existent in places. But I would not hesitate to stay again, it's very good value for money.
Good location and service. Public transportation was just a few blocks away. Safe neighborhood. Rooms are quite small (especially 2-bed rooms), but they do the job. Rates were convenient. Breakfast selection is good.
The rooms are very nice. It's more like a flat than a hotel. There is a balcony and kitchen in the rooms, what makes your stay very pleasant specially if you stay longer. The neighborhood is quite busy, with lots of restaurants, bars, pubs and even clubs. So you can easily walk from the hotel or go some minutes by taxi.
My son and I stayed here for the World Cup. The room was fabulous. Everything clean and tidy and all services up to scratch. Took advantage of the somewhat pricey laundry service. Wifi worked well in all areas of the building, and there are several nearby restaurants and cafes of good quality. Great friendly staff, who weren't entirely fluent in English, but well enough spoken to have general chat about the soccer and make plans for the day's adventures. I also had to take the risk of having some $1200 match tickets delivered to the hotel prior to our arrival (my heart sunk a little when I saw the scalped tickets off ebay had arrived close to a fortnight before we were due to) but my envelope was handed over to me, unopened, upon our arrival. Very friendly city (at least during the worlds largest event) and my son would often be walking 2-3km back from various events and gatherings in the very wee hours of the morning. Great location, with a really big shopping centre a block down the road, and a service station. Breakfast was good, and overall a good stay
Clean, well located, warm welcome and reasonable fares. Self parking and a plenty of places nearby! A good choice to stay centrally and enjoy surroundings. Do not hesitate to enter in any of restaurants around.
Probably a reasonable hotel that is well located and central. Watch the traffic if trying to go to airport at 9 am. Staff speak English which was a change in Brazil. Reasonably clean, spacious rooms and an ok breakfast. World Cup rip off like the rest of Brazil.
