We stayed 5 days in January. I would say that the resort is good 3 stars and is a bit overpriced for what it is. I think it should be considered as appart hotel but not like a resort. Positives: 1. Good location, Jan Thiel beach is beautiful, has many restaurants and other amenities 2. The exterior of villas and swimming pool are nice. There is parking near every villa and big balcony to sit outside. 3. Having full kitchen is nice, the island is overall very overpriced so it’s nice at least to be able to cook breakfast and have snacks in the fridge. Negatives: 1. Old furniture and kitchen supplies. The frying pan was old and always burning, bed linen and towels were brownish/yellow color from being old. The shower and bathroom in general need complete remodeling! There was something wrong with the fridge - everything got frozen including eggs !!! 2. The worst was that there is no air conditioning in the kitchen-lounge area. When we cooked it became extremely hot and unbearable. 3. I just used the swimming pool once, as we had lots of plans to explore the island. It was 5pm (still nice and warm) and they had no towels because they ran out of them! The girl at the reception told that usually people take them in the morning even if you plan to use them later and keep them in the room! This is something you would never want to hear at the “resort”. Please, just buy enough towels! This is not acceptable. 4. We arrived Saturday and left Thursday. Our apartment WAS CLEANED ONLY ONCE!!! In sum, if you find a good price it’s ok to go, but don’t expect an excellent and resort service.

I am a Curacao citizen and have to say that I have received the WORST SERVICE EVERRR!! ON MY BIRTHDAY. I am someone who like to travel the world and didn't have any problem with any hotel till yesterday on my own Island. I checked in on November 27, 2017 together with my girlfriend and as soon as we got into the room we noticed that it was smaller that we expected. Since my birthday was the next day November 28 and could expect some friends to pass by, I went gently to the front desk and ask if there is a possibility to upgrade to a Villa. A very kind intern helped me very well and when I asked to take a look in one of the Villas, the permission was granted and I went to take a look. When back at the front desk i informed the kind lady that I would like to take that Villa the next day. I went to my room and the lady called on the phone and informed us that unfortunately we cannot get that Villa seeing the fact that it was already reserved but we can get another one. We agreed and went back to the front desk and the kind maintenance guy guide us to the other Villa to take a look and we liked it. Back at the front desk we agreed that next day at 15:00lt we will make the change. The next day (My birthday) we cleaned up everything in the apartment and place everything in our cars and went to the front desk so we can go to the upgraded Villa. To my SURPRISE, the intern comes to me and inform me that she did everything she could but The Hotel decided to rent the Villa to another person. Now you will agree with me that that is NOT a service for sure. I asked for my money back seeing the fact that I still had one night payed. The RUDE supervisor Mrs. Zuleika Cijntje Priest took forever to come and speak to me and when she finally came out, she told me that I cannot get my money back. I became very upset and demand the right to receive my money back. The supervisor told me that I will need to cancel via booking.com and then they will give me the money back. I told her that I paid cash and did only the reservation by booking.com so I didn't pay via booking.com so I would like to receive my money back immediately at the counter. After a lot arguing and discussing with me (the client which should be the king) she called security. I didn't back off, I stayed there and demand for my money back. After a WHILE she came out and the intern handed me my money back. A very bad experience on my own Island and ON MY BIRTHDAY. As a local citizen, I HIGHLY recommend to CHOOSE any other HOTEL in that area but NOT THIS ONE. LIVINGSTONE should also be renovated as mentioned in some of the other reviews. I have stayed at PAPAGAYO in that same area and it was WONDERFUL. I Fly everywhere in the world and didn't encountered problems in any other country. OOwww... I forgot.... She also told that she will put me on a Black List of Booking.com hahah Wellll when booking sees how many times we have traveled and that we didn't have any trouble anywhere... I think that hotel will be in trouble. So Once again... AS A LOCAL CITIZEN, PLSSSS CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL IN THAT AREA. THE OTHERS ARE WONDERFUL. Thanks for reading. X. Alberto & D. Sprok

The hotel area is very nice. The beach is about a 2 minute walk. The beach is clean and there are a couple of restaurants and bars that are well visited in the evening. There is also a small supermarket from a Dutch chain (AlbertHeijn). The resort is clean but there are a couple of improvements. The pool area is not really child safe sinds there are a lot of loos stones that one could injur themselves. Furthermore the bathroom in the bungalow could use a serious upgrade sinds it's very old, small and not clean (black mold on the tiles). Changing rooms (for any reason will cost you money!). Despite these (let's call them imperfections) the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Location: I was traveling with 2 teens from NYC so wanted to make sure they had a bit of independence since moist everything on Curaçao is only accessible by car and I didn't want to drive them everywhere all the time. The location is wonderful. We could walk to the Supermarket ( a Dutch Chain) right across the street, and the girls could walk to the large beautiful pool on the grounds. We could also walk to Jan Thiel Beach and swimming was great there for them, as well as their Saturday Night beach party. The apartment itself was wonderful and spacious. We shared a bedroom with 3 people and the hotel provided a normal extra bed right away (instead of the small rollaway they had at first). Kitchen had everything we needed, internet and tv worked well (Important for the teens) , the apartment was nicely decorated and clean, The porch was great for morning breakfast. I would come here again with them. The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful.

When we arrived we got an upgrade from the smaller coloured houses to a small villa with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. But the kitchen was very old and the dishwasher had a mould and when looking closer also a cucaracha inside! We asked for a new house (which is possible in May) and got a very beautiful decorated house with plants on the terras. This was so much better and we now really enjoy our stay here. But the difference between the houses can be big!

During our stay we were met with great staff and great service from the restaurant staff. Friendly cleaners with great attitudes. Great Hotel to stay with family. Pool area was nice and clean and enjoyed the shallow pool for the children.

We booked a family holiday for DECEMBER in October. We had everything booked. We bought tickets for 14 travelers (kids and babies included). We we finally arrived at the after long plane trips and a long journey in taxis, we entered this so called hotel and the ride lady that was closing the lobby (yes no lobby 24 hours in this hotel) she said "oh sorry there is no space for you. The security guard has a letter for us. The didn't respect our reservation leaving us with no beds in DECEMBER in one of the hot spots of tourism in the end of the year. We resolved the problem on our behalf. It ended up costing us a lot more. Everything because this very bad hotel. Really bad experience. Jossya@hotmail.com

We rented one of the larger villas with ocean view. It was very nice, clean, practical, and made the perfect "home" for us during our stay in Curaçao. The resort is gated, it has a very nice pool, an ok restaurant, a bar by the pool that were mostley open. But we spent most of our time at the nearby beach. Just a short walk away. As were many nice restaurants that we enjoyed. There is also a very good store nearby that has everything you need. It is simpley a great place to stay!

The accommodations were fabulous. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We were close to all of the amenities we required and staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent.

We had a beautiful villa, complemented with a great porch, ample dining space indoor as outdoor, lovely lounge seats and view (slightly hampered ) over the sea. two bedrooms with separate bathroom, full kitchen. Beautiful atractive and inviting swimmingpool. Populated mostly by Dutch speaking people. Breakfast possible. very close to the beautiful jan thiel beach.
