The resort was nice overall. Great view of the water and a small beach there. However, the buildings need improvement, the wifi doesn't work in the room at all, and half of the showers we took were cold. Must rent a car if you stay here because you will be semi stuck if not. The area up north is quiet with some hidden gems so I would recommend for that reason. Nice staff as well which is always a plus.

We enjoyed our stay. The ground were beautiful but the facilities need a lot of attention. The toilet in our room was not functioning properly despite 4 attempts to repair it. There was no one available to assist us when we checked in to help carry our suitcases to the second floor. Several times after the room was cleaned, no towels were available. Many lights in the parking lot were damaged or not functional. The food in the restaurant was mediocre and overpriced. The ceiling fan made an awful screeching noise when we arrived but was repaired fairly promptly. When we arrived there were no toiletries, inadequate towels, and no hot water because they neglected to turn on the hot water heater. Internet was available only in the common areas and was often quite slow. The staff, however, was very friendly and tried to address some our concerns. They always had a smile and did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

This resort has the most beautiful and quiet beach. Snorkeling was great...right off their beach. Very small and quiet resort. Loved it!

Overall, hotel is in a quiet location and the price is very reasonable.. But if you can get over the following, it may be a right choice for you: 1. No wifi. The lobby has free wifi, but no wifi in rooms. 2. So-so restaurant. I never got sick, but the food is ok. 3. Lack of amenities. You forgot toothbrush? too bad. You have long hair and need extra shampoo and conditioner? You are not on a scavenger hunt. 4. It's in a desperate need for reno. Shows sign of aging everywhere.

We stayed at the West Point location but also had a great evening in the city, and we absolutely loved it all! While on the Punt, we enjoyed the abundance of birds, lizards and lush wild, but well kept gardens, as well as the Beach, snorkling and I scuba dove right off the pier. The locals were polite but not overly friendly until you get to know them a little. We will be back, as we absolutely loved this place!!

My goal was the best snorkeling and I didn't go wrong. The location is primo as is the beach and adjacent dive shop. The hotel is trying hard to recapture its glory. the staff was nice. They are still a little short on the infrastructure and maitneance (i.e a little painting, fixing some things, upgrading buildings etc), but it had no affect on my experience. I didn't eat at the hotel but bought groceries from the Centrum market in town after leaving the airport. We ate out one meal a day. Recommed: highly Fishalicious, second best Trio Penotti, next best Sol Food. Jaanchies was not very good food but great atmosphere. Since it is a "talking menu" ask for the price upfront. Got the iquana even though we didn't ask for it.

... pretty much agrees with most of the other reviews. The hotel is remote which is what we were looking for. Great spot. Quiet. Beautiful. Fantastic skies. The most beautiful beaches with top world snorkeling/diving reefs - not too far with a car. Food and drinks are average and expensive. Staff is sub-average, unfortunately, and I don't have high standards. Even after a week there, with the same it was difficult to get a smile sometimes. Reception staff was very helpful though. Loved the wildlife there, but you may not... Birds all around, iguanas crawling everywhere. I even found a scorpion in my suitcase :-# Underwater is amazing: see horses, turtles, octopusses... did I mention fishes ? Anyway, get a car to stay there. For food, I'd recommend going to Sol Food #short walk) or the Bahia at Lagun Beach.

my husband and i actually wandered through a lot of the resorts on the island, out of curiosity, and as far as the property and ambiance are concerned, definitely felt we made the right choice with KH Lodge. reasons to choose: - you prefer some quiet on the sand to being surrounded by masses of humanity at all times. - artful rather than cheesy decor - spacious rooms are actually suites rather than generic this-could-be-anywhere plastic spaces - staff are very accommodating and professional. but i'm docking the KHL 3 stars for its food, which is: 1. exorbitantly overpriced, bland fare. $15 US for bread, cheese, and a couple of slices of tomato that had barely turned a pale orange-pink. so tasteless, even famished i could do no more than pick at it, and left 3/4ths of it on the plate. that was the worst offender, but the rest of the food did not rise much above that level. 2. the 12% service charge. this fee is added to all food ordered at the hotel, and it looks and sounds like tip, right? in fact, where tip is included at other restaurants on Curacao, it's 12%. but nope. the "service fee" is actually a resort fee. the money goes to the HOTEL, NOT to the staff. which means: a. the food is 12% MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE PRICE ON THE MENU, and b. what's even worse, this misleading labeling means that i bet a lot of people mistake the 12% for tip, and either leave nothing more or very little extra. that means the KH IS SHAFTING ITS WAIT STAFF OUT OF THEIR TIP SYSTEMATICALLY. we verified this information with the front desk, and were subsequently mortified to learn that we'd therefore only been tipping a couple dollars each time, as opposed to the 15-20% we thought we'd been doing. so, while on the basis of the property and (shafted) staff, i'd rate the KHL a 5, on the basis of its a) terrible & overpriced food and b) dishonest & unethical labor practices, i'd give it a 1. if you do decide to stay here, try the restaurants nearby instead: Sol Food, Jaanchie's... you'll eat much better, pay much less, and maybe even rest better.

We spent three nights and found the location to be amazingly spectacular. The resort is well laid out and the staff are friendly and helpful. We thought the food was a bit limited. My partner has dietary restrictions and we made it work but this is something that could be worked on given that the resort is secluded and not near much and a cab to downtown is some $60 (USD). All in all we had a great time and would certianly consider a return visit.

Love it here. If your looking to enjoy a nice beach vacation with snorkeling right from the hotel beach, this is your place. Beautifully manicured grounds and nice accomodations.

The most relaxing, luxurious vacation we've ever had!

The hotel complex is very nice. Nice landscaping and location, awesome beach and ocean. The rooms are a little dated. A lot of dings on the furniture, worn out beds, dead bugs squashed all over the walls, broken shower head and an old TV. All acceptable, but not for a 5 Star Resort. The service was the problem. Upon arrival, we were booked into a Garden Villa far away from the ocean, despite having paid upfront for an Ocean view room. Only after complaining and long waiting did we get an Oceanfront room. About half of the staff was wonderful, very nice and helpful. The other half was the complete opposite: Unhelpful and seem to not care about the guests at all. This was apparent on some days in the restaurant. It was a hit or miss and you had to look out for who was working that day.

I wanted to stay somewhere with high service quality and mostly be able to relax and enjoy a vacation and that is exactly what I got by staying at Lodge Kura Hulanda. The room and view were amazing and the resort itself gives you the outdoorsy feeling while still having the luxuries you desire. Great choice...

We stayed from 8/17/2012-8/25/2012 in the Garden View rooms with our two grown children. The facility is very nice, comfortable and has many amenities. the grounds and beach are beautiful, the restaurants are average and pricey. Our rooms were very clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view. we were visited by tropical birds every day on our deck. The kura hulanda lodge and beach club is all the way on the western end of the island, which is beautiful, quiet and very peaceful. It is a smaller hotel with mostly adult European (Dutch) guests. It is at the other end of the island from the capital, Willemstad, and if you are looking for nightlife or a lot of other enetertainment, this is the wrong place for you. It is small, quiet and intimate and if you want peace and to get away from it all it is wonderful. The facility is very nice and comfortable but not a 5 star, luxury hotel. Generally, the food is average and pricey and you have few other dining options in westpunt. We went to the grocery store and stocked up up on food and drinks and used our fridge and kitchen unit every day, which worked out well for us. The south shore of Curacao is all about gorgeous beaches, white sand and clear water. The island is wonderful, easy going and you can drive anywhere to explore the island. We have travelled our whole lives and have stayed in many great tropical destinations and in luxury hotels. This was a great, memorable trip for all of us.

Upon arriving to the Hotel, we checked in and were greeted with refreshing drinks and taken to our beautiful room with a view. The hotel itself was gorgeous; the property was clean, the views were amazing, the staff was friendly. Overall this is an extremely quiet little resort tucked away on the island of Curacao. Here are all of the issues that I would be aware of. First off, if you wish to do anything at all in town (Wilmsted - the capitol) you have a long journey ahead of you. It's about 45 to 50 minutes one way. The only thing on the island near the hotel.... is the hotel. On the way out there you will drive though run down homes, goats, feral dogs, cattle in the road - the complete '3rd world country scene - it wasn't nice, or pretty. The other problem with the hotel is that they are on 'island time' as they like to call it... so no one is in a hurry for anything. Our dinner one evening from start to finish was over four hours. Now we were there with a larger party of people, but it was pretty ridiculous. We didn't have water throughout most of the meal, we quit ordering alcoholic beverages all together because of how long it took to receive them. When they did bring out the food, half of us got ours, the other half did not - until about 20 minutes later. Prices are pretty expensive. My daquri at dinner - normal size - was $13.00 USD. There aren't many dining options, so unless you want to drive out 45 minutes every time you want to have a meal, you're stuck there on the resort eating the same expensive food at the same places.

Fantastic hotel, conveniently located by the best beaches in Curacao (west side of the island). I definitely recommended renting a car, taxis can cost $60.00 USD ++ each way to & from the airport. The hotel is also a good 30-45 minute drive from downtown Willemstad.

This was our honeymoon trip and all I can say it was really great. Unfortunately we didn't do enough research to know Curaçao is known for its diving. The waters are beautiful and just the right temp but rocky beaches filled with dead coral. No long strolls on the beach but beautiful ocean waters and iguanas walking the beach. I thought that was pretty cool. Friendliest staff and amazing room with view. Restaurant very pricy and amazing pool. If you are a diver or can snorkel all day this is the place. The drive from airport is a little ways and gives a glimpse of the reality of the island. It was very relaxing. Thank you to Bart Francis and the rest of the staff for making my partner and I feel so comfy.

This is not a 5 star hotel by my standards, only a 3 star at best, the room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable, needs new mattress what a back ache, and the TV lost signal all the time, the staff needs to check on the guest more when waiting and listen better, had to repeat myself all the time and wait 20 minutes for a glass of water, food is expensive but not impressive at all, not alot to do at the resort but swim and nothing in the area, the beach is small and rocky so you need shoes to walk on it, will not return

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Lodge location is very peaceful and the beach front snorkeling is excellent. There's not much available in walking distance, so, you need to rent a car for a few days to explore the island. Would love to see hot water added to the outdoor shower and a better designed shower enclosure for indoors.

In a very nice part of the island, comfortables suites with beautiful ocean view. Small private beach but perfect for snorkeling. But food misses quality (cocktails, breakfast very expensive and very average, same for diner) . Staff not very nice. During week end, you can eat at walking distance in a lovely place named sol food.
