We spent a lovely four nights in the Banyan Room for our 10th anniversary. The room was beautifully decorated and maintained, and it was comfortable and serene. The whole resort is amazing, and the staff was kind, welcoming, and helpful. We felt pampered and it was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Would return in a heartbeat.

We stayed in Private Pool Villa with two bedrooms with another couple. Second bed room was upstairs which added to the ambiance that the whole facility was private. Very special accommodation, beautifully maintained and furnished. Everything exceeded all our expectations. The greeting upon arrival, the care in explaining the facility and the services provided. All the staff were great to be around and we looked forward to every opportunity to interact with them. Steph was very helpful in making recommendations and arrangements. Freddie was delightful and quite the conversationalist with detailed explanation of Venezuelan situation. Mark and Clifford were very attentive when we were on the on the beach. Our favorite was the lovely lady (not sure exact name Shena/Sheba?). who served us for breakfast. We ate several meals there and all were great. The drinks at the bar were fabulous! At least once each year we vacation at a high end resort in the Caribbean and this has to be in the top 5 if not the top 3. We can whole heartily recommend others staying at Baose!

This place is unique! 23 rooms on the ocean, you can’t imagine what our room is like. Extremely private, outdoor shower and hot tub, private pool overlooking the ocean with Jacuzzi , kitchenette outside too. Hand carved wood paneling, coconut palms. I could keep going but it is worth the price

Since our last stay at the Baoase Luxury Resort in 2016 to celebrate our 16 year anniversary, my husband and I have been dreaming of returning there one day... well that day came sooner then anticipated! We had a 5 day break to spend together and it was without a doubt that we would return to Baoase. From the moment we arrived late in the night, we were swept away. Our lovely host was waiting for us at the entrance and escorted us to our exquisite honeymoon suite room. I think I danced when I entered the room... The room is so tastefully designed and the attention to detail is very much appreciated after a long trip. A tray of degustation and welcoming refreshments including Prosciutto wine was placed on a table and all we could think of is how well we were going to sleep to wake up to a view overlooking the beautiful garden & sea directly from our patio doors. We spent a lot of time relaxing and snorkelling at the resort, but also enjoyed heading out to explore the island, to then come back to the service and luxury at Baoase! We look forward to the next time!

Boase exceeded all of my expectations!!!! The service was impeccable, the resort was divine and the attention to detail is unmatched! This is one of the nicest resorts I’ve had the pleasure to visit. The beach at this resort is perfection. As a guest you feel like you have it all to yourself. They have designed the property in a way that each guest has privacy and this is a true luxury. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I booked Baoase after reading some previous reviews and hearing that the beach setup here was better than any place in Curacao. I must admit that their lagoon and beach was very nice! This place prices themselves far and above others, and considers themselves a 5-star luxury resort. In my opinion, you can check a lot of boxes to earn stars and/or get some endorsements, but the service has to be every bit as good as the amenities to truly feel like you are staying in a premier luxury resort. Baoase absolutely falls short. I’ve stayed in some VERY swanky/luxurious resorts in Tulum Mexico, New Zealand, etc. All had terrific facilities, but the service is what sets them apart from Baoase. This is especially true when it comes to desiring and wanting excellent beach service. I should never have to look for someone to order a drink after waiting an hour on the beach. I shouldn’t have to remind people or pick up my own plates or tray to get them replaced or have refills offer. I shouldn’t need to search for towels at 11am and then be told there are no more available because they are in laundry. I can understand if this is a one time thing, but I saw this both days we sat out by the beach for multiple hours. I want to be clear: everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating. It isn’t a problem with staff or folks not being helpful or friendly; it is a problem with being the one to ask and get service. My wife was sitting down for 30 minutes at the beach and I had come out of our Banyan Tree House to join her. I asked if she had been helped, and she said no. I waited 30 minutes with her and eventually got tired of waiting, at which point I found a gentlemen who I asked for drinks. As I said: this was the norm, not the exception. Also, on our last day out by the beach, someone came and dropped off a bill/preview of our charges at our cabana while we had no drinks or service (and were waiting). I found that to not be very tactful or aware...just drop it off at the room! Also, the Banyan Tree room is rather small and crowded inside. The photos make it look fairly large and it is listed at 430 sq feet, but that is an exaggeration and/or including outdoor tub/shower space. Otherwise the room itself feels like a normal 200-225 sq ft hotel room. It is nicely decorated of course (my wife said a bit over done), but it was dark. There is little privacy as two other rooms access the same open space and stairs where you’d sit out in front on the “patio”. You absolutely can not keep the windows open if you want privacy, otherwise everyone can see inside. The drain in the room wasn’t secured in the sink and pops free. There was a vanity light that was broken above the mirror that I asked to get fixed. A day went by and I noticed the light had been removed. I followed up with the front desk about what had happened: they said, “oh, you didn’t want it removed?” I explained that I wanted it fixed so that we could see! It was fixed later that day. Also, the out door tub can’t be filled up more than about 6 inches without running out of hot water (it’s a big tub!). We took a couple of showers each day and had to keep it under 7-10 minutes. The housekeeping is a little excessive. They come to turn down the room twice a day and sweep leaves maybe two or three times. It feels like a bit much if you are wanting to try and relax on your small porch and/or get some privacy. We came back after breakfast to find our room being cleaned, and waited outside for 20 minutes for them to finish. This hotel has a ton of nice little touches that make it feel personalized. They provide a Sonos and tablet for music in the room. They have a little Nespresso with tons of cartridges. They have a little fruit tray with local fruits that you can cut and eat. They provide you a trinket when you check out. But frankly, I would prefer outstanding service over those nice touches (if I had to choose...). Summary: Pros Nice beach and lagoon Beach snorkel equipment, rafts, and floating noodles Delicious food (especially Asian night!) and appreciated Amuse bites in between courses Friendly staff Music in the room Lunch snacks are good: bitterballen and açaí bowl Excellent gym equipment for most resorts Cons Food is overpriced(I compared to Kome, Rosendales, DejaVu) except Asian night. Hotel room was small and had a few issues: cock roach, short on hot water, insanely slow internet (< 1mbps down < 200 kbps up) while downtown Curacao offers fast wifi no problem. Loud and a lot of foot traffic early in AM Too much sweeping and room turndown (I know right...who would have thought this could be a problem!) Service was just not there or to par with other 4/5* nice resorts that we’ve stayed at I really wanted to feel great about our stay here. None of it had to do with the cost, but when it is tabbed as the nicest resort in Curacao, you have a high bar to meet. Maybe we would have enjoyed a room with more privacy and that isn’t so noisy, but I have no doubt we’d experience the same service issues.

We have been here for the second time and it was amazing again. Service is beyond best. Very nice people running the place. Clyfford in the restaurant made our holiday extremely pleasant. The resort is exactly as the brochure describes. It is a small paradise. No doubt the best resort on the island and I know the island very well.

Excellent resort. Beautiful setting and staff who make you feel at home the moment you arrive. Hotel staff is of the highest quality. The restaurant food is outstanding; we had planned to eat at local restaurants but learned that the hotel restaurant food is better. The restaurant service was sometimes ideal and sometimes surprisingly disorganized -- bringing wrong meals and confusing orders -- but if you focus on the quality of the food and the beach setting, it does not seem to matter. Overall, well worth the money.

Chose this resort on whim while looking on the Internet for a vacation spot in lieu of St. Barts, our usual winter getaway currently recovering from hurricane Irma. This is a stunning, relaxing doubt the nicest place in Curacao. It is almost on par cost-wise with most places in St. Barts, but not quite there experience-wise. Despite a few minor points, we enjoyed our stay. We ventured out of the resort only once, for dinner at Fishalicious, which was just ok. The food at Baoase was much better, but the kitchen is painfully slow, except at breakfast. For this reason, we ate lunch at our lounges on the beach, but slogged through 2+ hour dinners. Despite the slow kitchen, the staff here are very friendly and eager to accommodate guests. It does seem as though everyone is well trained and experienced in the art of hospitality. We stayed in a Superior Beachfront Suite, which is actually not beachfront, but has a little backyard with sand on it, and a rocky bulkhead beneath which is the water. Unfortunately, 30 yards or so out, there is a jetty with an abandoned boat slip, rusted pylons included. It just didn't look attractive although if you look to your left, you can see the sunset, which was lovely. If doing this again, I would choose a regular beachfront suite (less expensive) facing the lagoon, and includes reserved pavilions on the lagoon beach, which, even though man-made, is an actual beach, not a bulkhead. Superior beachfront suite guests have to compete with everyone else for beach space, at a higher cost....doesn't seem logical to me. Sadly, the gym is embarrassingly bad. All of the (rusty and dirty) strength training equipment is outdoors, which makes for a very uncomfortable workout, and they charged me for bottled water, which made me feel like they were nickel and diming me. Also, one of the stationary bikes was missing it's display, there were only wires hanging out which looked really sad. Finally, on our checkout day, they left an envelope in our room asking for gratuities for the staff. It said that 10-15% of the invoice is customary. When I inquired about this at the front desk, they said to tip only on the restaurant/bar charges, but since I had already tipped 20% when signing the checks I was confused. When I mentioned this, they said that I had already fulfilled my obligation. But it was a perplexing and ultimately awkward departure, so much so that I just tipped again anyway. To summarize, the place was great, the food was great, there are some minor things that need work. Also, the weather was perfect.

We didn't stay at the resort but we got a day-pass to spend my birthday here. The beach beds are very comfortable. We got a water decanter with ice water which was refilled throughout the day. We received a smoothie in the morning and a bite in the afternoon. The service here was very, very good. Both my partner and I have dietary restrictions that they readily accommodated. This made for an enjoyable experience for both of us. Both the staff in the restaurant, the beach butlers and the bartenders were very helpful, friendly, and attentive. The day pass expired around 5pm, but we felt so comfortable that we didn't want to leave and the staff were not in a hurry to get us out either. We eventually moved from the beach to the bar where we enjoyed several drinks before heading home. It was a very relaxed and memorable day. Would not mind making this a birthday tradition!
