This was our first stay in this hotel; we stayed here for three nights over the Easter holidays. Location: The location was a major plus as it was an easy walk down to the Lake or to the restaurants in Bowness. The two paths to Post-Knott and Brant Fell are close by and it was an enjoyable walk uphill. An easy ferry ride across led to another excellent walk to the Wray Castle. Parking: Parking was abundant and easy, and we were able to park almost next to our room. Staff: One of the highlights of our stay was feeling welcomed by excellent staff. Dorothy and Maggie were particularly helpful. Surroundings: The hotel has a lovely ambience with the option of separate rooms with parking outside or rooms in a central building over three floors. Our window overlooked the well maintained garden. Breakfast: The breakfast is served in a very nice restaurant with good views of the gardens. The cooked breakfast was an excellent addition to the buffet with good variety, served in a welcoming manner. Room: The room was clean and good sized with a comfortable bed. The floors unfortunately creaked a lot and were a source of some irritation. You could hear people walking in the room above and next door with creaking sound, and you worried about creating similar sound for people living below you. The room was otherwise excellent with daily cleaning and provision of toiletries. Overall, an excellent hotel which we very highly recommend and will be delighted to return back to, soon.

My husband and I stayed for the 1st time at the Burnhow Garden Hotel, Saturday night. What a lovely traditional hotel, very welcoming, Dorothy was very friendly and served us in the little bar, the hotel had kindly given us a voucher for a drink. We stayed in a cosy double in the separate lodge, it was very clean! Breakfast was so nice, very fresh and hot! A great hotel in a very convienient location, 5 mins from the lake, shops and restaurants. We will be returning at some point! Thank you!
Our two night stay was perfect in all aspects. Once again the breakfast was excellent, a vast array of fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurts followed by the best Cumbrian breakfast! On our second night we ate in the restaurant and had an exceptional fillet steak, perfectly cooked by the chef, Jane. The waitresses Melisa and Melinda were very attentive to our needs. All in all, a wonderful hotel, great staff and a fantastic location. Maggie on reception was fantastic to deal with and was very helpful with our booking.
Me and my partner visited for our anniversary and I can’t rate this hotel highly enough. From location, to its staff, everything was spot on! When we booked the hotel, I advised the lady I booked with that it’s for my anniversary so this was passed on to the hotel and upon my arrival there was the most beautiful card from the staff left for me. Was such a warming and welcoming gesture. The staff were so friendly too. Made us feel very comfortable. I didn’t catch the name of one of the ladies who I got talking to (she had long curly brunette/gingery hair, and drove a silver car as I saw her leaving) and she couldn’t have been more helpful. I wish all staff members at hotels were like her! We had breakfast included in our room, and again staff were more than happy to accommodate our requests. There was a wide variety of food available for breakfast, from fruits to cereals and even cooked breakfast. The only thing I would say is the heating in the rooms was a bit low even when turned up to the max. But to be fair it was one of the coldest times of year we went. Again I mentioned this to your staff (the lady mentioned above) and she told me how to turn up the heating. It’s a great location for tourists.. the boat cruises are around the corner and it was just really nice! Would definitely visit again!
Friendly welcome on arrival, cosy and warm lounge, a clean, nicely decorated bungalow with ample space for living, and super comfortable beds. Very clean, and so quiet. The menu looks absolutely fab but unfortunately we did not have enough.time to sample. 4 mins walk from the center of Bowness with its pubs full of character, BURN HOW is definately an ideal place to stay in the Lake District.
Couldn't fault our stay. Room 17 Lovely, everything you could need for your stay. Staff very polite and accommodating! Breakfast - great variety and plenty of it! Outside the premesies seems a little dared but don't let this stop you from choosing to stay here! Would stay here here again.
Booked two family rooms for two nights. Both rooms were situated adjacent to the drive not in the main hotel. They were well set out with a double bed and a single bed in each. We arrived in freezing cold weather but the rooms were very warm. The bathroom was very clean with lovely fluffy towels. We ate breakfast both mornings in the hotel restaurant and were delighted with the choices of fresh fruit, cereals yoghurts and cooked breakfast. All the staff were friendly and pleasant. The location for the ferries and Beatrix Potter attraction was perfect for us.
Stayed a couple of days in between Christmas and new year, it’s just very pleasant, nothing fancy, but just very nice, staff were very accommodating all so nice, can recommend it for a couple of relaxing days in the lakes
