Rooms are average, food even more so, looks lovely on the outside but the rooms are very dated, great jacuzzi bath in my rood but no plug so couldn't use it, then during the shower went to use the free hair & body wash but low and behold there was none in there. Also my colleague was in her room and had a unexpected guest as the hotel had given him a key to her room saying it was free.
Arrived at about 9pm for the English Bull Terrier show. This was later than planned and unfortunately we were too late for dinner. There were a lot of other people arriving from all over the world and I think the hotel missed a trick by not having sandwiches/ bacon rolls on hand for late arrivals. I'm sure they could have taken a load of money! Apart from that we had a great time at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the public areas were very impressive and very clean. The staff were attentive at all times. Breakfast was very good. We look forward to returning to next years show!
Like a lot of other Brittania Hotels I have stayed at over the years, yet another dump. This hotel group just doesn't seem to care. My room was dirty, having huge stains on bedding, carpets and curtains. The furniture was scratched, shabby and old. The lighting was poor and the some plugs had round pins, so unusable. The decor, possibly not updated since 1970. Dirty walls with both dents and holes. Worst of all was the bathroom, a bath panel which kept falling down, dirty wall tiles which appeared to have splattered blood on them. Hotel overall very poor!!! Not recommended.
This was the first time we have been here It was a terrible day wet, windy and cold. But as soon as we went it we got a very warm welcome and quickly warmed up. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are great.the hotel has lovely grounds we can't wait to go back when the weathers better
Using the hotel on a business trip I phoned for room service in the evening. My meal (steak and chips) was delivered without any cutlery. There was the option to request breakfast in bed so I hung my order on door handle as instructed the night before. I requested it to be delivered between 7.30 and 8am. I waited and at 8.10am I opened door to see the order ticket was still on my door and hadn't even been taken by the staff. Very poor service and I wont be using this hotel again.
Just returned from a 4 day National Holiday to The Cotswolds and Warwick Castle. This hotel was listed as a Mystery Hotel so wasn't sure what I would get and couldn't read any reviews of the hotel before departure and I'm glad I didn't. Having read the reviews since returning home I really do wonder what some people expect for a £99 holiday. The hotel looks good from the outside and doesn't disappoint on the inside. The manager came out to the coach on arrival and gave us (47 passengers) our keys as we got off the coach - no queuing at reception to book in - so we were able to go to our rooms immediately. I was a solo traveller so very surprised to find I had been allocated a spacious double executive room (Room 249).The bed was a double, not two singles put together. It was clean, bright and very spacious with bath and shower large desk/dressing table with chair plus 2 armchairs, double built in wardrobe with plenty clothes hangers. So the tv was small but if I wanted to watch tv I could have stayed at home. The room, and hotel in general were pleasantly warm, though some might say too warm and I switched my room radiator off on arrival and never needed it switched back on. The food was plentiful for both breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice and of a good standard, and unlike some hotels I have stayed in, the staff were always polite and cheerful in spite of being very busy. I must say that it would have been better to have had a dining table allocated for the duration of my stay, but that would be nitpicking. Plenty of space in this hotel with bar and lounge areas to relax in. My room was towards the back of the hotel and very quiet during the night. Those who give this hotel anything less than 3 stars simply don't know good value for money and should stick to the Hilton or similar. For £99 plus single supplement of £20, this holiday was superb, 3 nights stay and excursions every day including entry to Warwick castle and not forgetting transport from home town and back all made even more enjoyable thanks to the excellent driver - Paul - and his great sense of humour. So get real everyone, lower your expectations and be pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was very dilapidated. The place was full, due to a concert in town, when I visited so I couldn't ask for another room. There were some very suspicious looking stains on one of the chairs in our room! The public areas weren't much better: Torn carpets, ripped upholstery, everything generally rundown. Everything was rundown and shoddy. The food was just edible and the staff either weren't trained or didn't give a damn. All of the above is a poor reflection on the management/owners. I hope that these issues have been rectified since I visited, but I doubt it. The place had obviously been in decline for years. I can't recommend it. Sorry.
Checked in, receptionist was quite pleasant, directed us to the room. Noticed the reception area was lovely and made me think how nice the rest could be, got to our room well! The smile put completely off my face, outdated old fashioned furniture, decoration needs a touch up or modernisation. We asked for a double room and got twin with a 3 year old had to share a single bed, so got no sleep. Staff at bar were helpful but lacked something. My son was playing on the floor and noticed something on the floor, on inspection was a tablet from whoever has stayed previously. God forbid if he thought was a sweet. Won't stay again.
Just back from another relaxing day at the Spindles gym at the royal court hotel, coventry...yes, relaxing. Believe it or not, relaxing and gym can go together if you use the brilliant gym at this hotel. Starting with the brilliant staff especially the lovely manager, Jim, to the awesome facilities ( jacuzzi, sauna, swimming pool, state of the art gym, cool current music, clean lovely showers and steady chilled water) what's not to love at the gym? Best of all, free parking space is just within a step of the gym. Yes, I'm a shameless fan of this gym, coven try's little secret!
We were at the Royal Court hotel for an event at the end of January. As the event organiser it was welcoming to see that my room was ready on arrival at 10am. We were at the end of the corridor on the first floor. Our room couldn't be faulted. Spotlessly clean and complete with new windows and spotless bathroom. When I did get back to our room I find we had been upgraded to VIP status and were left some treats and drinks. We spent most of the day setting up for our function in the Britannia Suite which was freshly decorated complete with new carpet it sure looked amazing and went with out black and white theme. The staff all throughout the day were helpful and friendly from reception staff on checking in to breakfast the next day. Special mentions have to go to Maria McNamara in the events office for being patient with me and fulfilling all my requests and also Mark Walker ho went above and beyond with a last minute request. Top marks to chef who got all of our guests served and amazing food it was too. We can't fault the hotel we slept really well we ate really well and we drank really well. What more can you want from a hotel. Will we be back of course we will what other hotels virtually give you the run of the place.
