Decided to hold my birthday celebration at The Royal Court Hotel with family and friends. I was very impressed with all the renovations that had happened between me booking the party and the night of the party. Bar staff and waiting Staff were very attentive on the evening which made the night enjoyable. Food was lovely and plentiful and my guests made lots of positive comments. The events team that put my party together were amazing ! They helped me plan in fine detail and were always pleasant and professional when I contacted them .... Thank you Candice & Elka. I enjoyed the celebration so much I have booked again for this year. Thank you Royal Court !
We enjoyed our two day break there using National Holidays. Spacious room (Executive I'm guessing) and yes furniture a little dated as is some areas in the old part of Hotel but hey a set of draws is a set of draws a cupbaord is a cupboard whether old or new. But rooms were clean bed comfy TV on small side 17" but watchable anyway how much TV do you watch on your break away and a large jacuzzi bath. The bedroom walls are a little thin and part of a hallway in old part smelt a little foisty as you walked through it. Food was certainly very acceptable perhaps, staff pleasant where all the negative reviews come from heaven knows. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will visit again. To summarise it's not perfect if you want a 5 star hotel go pay for it this is true Value for Money hotel and a great base for visiting the area. We never used the Spa so cannot comment on that.
We booked a birthday special meal on Sunday and it was amazing the staff Robbie and Janet were amazing and congratulations to the Head chef as the food was wonderful. All the guests went away saying it was a great day another success for the Royal Court and the Events team who dealt with our booking.
Was lovely afternoon at the hotel - food was lovely and staff were fantastic! We had a 3 course carvery which was delicious. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. Hotel is really nice and has stunning grounds which were enjoyed by the children.
Our room was clean, nice clean towels, good shower and comfy beds. The food was good and the staff helpful. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, yes it needs to have a refurb but for the price l thought it was good value and l would stay again
Having read previous reviews I had low expectations, but was mainly pleasantly surprised. The hotel is fairly nice. It looks lovely, and the room and all the public areas were big and mainly well-kept. The room had two large gouges in the wallpaper but was otherwise in good condition. Maybe I got lucky? The hotel desperately needs proper external lighting - they clearly never considered the possibility that any visitor might be on foot, as the only way to get in or out of the hotel is via a very long unpaved and entirely unlit road/driveway which is frankly dangerous to walk down. If you are on foot like I was, you have no choice but to walk down the road in the pitch blackness with cars driving straight at you! It is also poorly (ie not at all) signposted. The grounds are gorgeous and well-kept. Cleanliness is not great. The bath had a bunch of short hairs in it, and my room was only 'done' by housekeeping once during my entire trip (meaning housekeeping literally did not come in to the room at all some days - was shocked to walk in in the evening and find dirty teacups, full bin, towels on the floor, messed up sheets, no teabags or coffee) and the one day they did 'do' the room the sheets had obviously not been changed. However there was no smell and no urine stains or anything like that, as some other reviews had mentioned. The key cards stopped working constantly - literally at least once a day. One time I had to go downstairs to the front desk and queue up (each time for approx 10-15 minutes) three times in succession, because none of the keycards worked even though they'd just been issued seconds earlier! The swimming pool and spa facilities are decent but it's a bit weird having to pay (£4 a day) to use a hotel pool when you are a guest there. The pool is small and not deep (I'm 5'3 and my feet reached the pool floor everywhere in the pool - I think the entire pool is so shallow because it's mainly used for aqua-aerobics classes). The hotel info brochure in the room contains incorrect info so they give out a little piece of paper with the correct info when you check in - don't know why they don't remove the old brochure from rooms? The staff were without exception wonderful - really patient, friendly, nice and apologetic. One morning I lost track of time swimming and arrived at the breakfast room after breakfast had ended and everything had been packed away, and one of the restaurant staff went and found me some cereal even though it was completely my own fault I missed breakfast. I consider that going above and beyond. I didn't eat dinner there as it finished so early in the evening. I chose to ignore the signs barring guests from bringing food or soft drink in from outside and got a takeout pizza - sorry but if you are miles from anywhere and don't serve meals in the evenings it's a bit ridiculous to ban guests from having food in their rooms. According to their rules your only options are a) eat dinner very early (good for elderly people I guess?) or b) drive into Coventry for dinner.
I arrived on the 15th march only one person checking people in (strong smell of weed on arrival) no hot water on arrival, empty beer cans in hallway, no value for money what so ever as the room is pretty grim as well, the food however was marginally better than the a carvary so no need for teeth, poor hotel decor, poor hotel grounds which if well kept would look nice all it was missing was a trolley in the fountain in the middle of the grounds, then to top it off on check out 11/12 people deep only person checking out and everyone's bill was wrong including my own I'd been overcharged for dinner by £12.50 and had £36 of drinks added on, it's a complete s**t hole avoid at all costs unless you're desperate and even then get some sleeping bags for the car! I didn't get to the pool but my guess would be no different!
Thanks to Scott & events team for the room. Had room on ground floor which was great as I'm disabled & have a walker so was easy to get myself & luggage to the room. Food hot & plentiful both at breakfast & dinner. My only complaint is I called to the restaurant to change dinner table booking & asked for a table for 5, as was there with friends but in a room on my own, but when arrived for dinner they had no record of the request for bigger table.
I stayed in many hotels but this is one was not my best choice. It is tired and dirty with stains on carpets and chairs. Lucky bed was ok or i would have checked out. The breakfast was very poor and tasteless. Sorry to say not a place i would stay again
Booked hotel in January for 1st part of honeymoon. When I got to hotel was told no record on system. I explained I had booked with their booking office and they had already taken £80. They said I wo6havw to wait whilst they he kedgeree with booking and they would have to play back the rest recording to see what was said, basically I thought saying I was wrong. I had to wait for sometime as they were booking in dogs and there owners who were at crafts. Eventually after u chased them up in was told it was there mistake and they did have a room. Stayed in what was supposed to be superior room with jacuzzi, that was a joke. Anyway only stayed that night and was told they would just charge the £80 that they had already taken. Anyway will never ever go to that Hotel again was even reluctant to pay 80. Advice to all steer clear not worth money in my opinion unless you are desperate.
