I stayed for a week at the Hotel for a little Getaway. The Reception staff was very nice and very helpful and after wanting to change the room after the first night (there was only one double bed for my sister and myself) the changed us to a bigger more comfortable room with two beds without extra charge. I thought the was a very nice gesture. The Hotel is not directly on the beach, but only a couple hundred meters up a road........the beach and the ocean there where very very beautiful and excellent for swimming. The reason I only give it 4 stars was the food. It seemed abundant, but somehow the quality did not quite live up to my expectations. This is true for the breakfast buffet and also for the Restaurant. We where not on half pension but got to choose a la carte....The Service was good in the Restaurant but none of the dishes I ate where wow.....(my sister liked hers a bit better).....Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hotel is charming and immaculately clean - from rooms to all public areas including gardens. Stayed for 10 days b&b in small complex opposite main hotel. Lovely beach 2 mins walk down side road with private area for hotel guests. Breakfast is plentiful and good although coffee takes some getting used to. Restaurant food very good too. Staff are very efficient and pleasant. Reception staff and Stefania herself deserve a special mention - they were friendly, informative and always ready to help. Altogether, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. Just one suggestion: perhaps there could have been 1 or 2 more English language channels on tv; not just BBC news and US business channel. Also would have liked a kettle in the room but this may not be a usual feature of Italian hotels.

We wanted a small, non corporate and fairly quiet hotel by the beach and that is what we got. As other people have said the decoration of the hotel is a little off-beat but it has far more charm than the usual corporate decor of bigger hotels. The reception staff were very helpful and quick to return some items to us that we had left in our room when we left. There was a problem with availability of our room on arrival but this was resolved by giving us a temporary room for one night and then an upgrade to a sea view room and balcony so this turned into a plus point. The restuarant was good but it would have been nice to be able to have the al la carte menu in the outside area rather than having to sit inside the restuarant. All the other restuarants we tried on the beach and in Pitttulongu were also excellent and provided choices of menu and cost. Only minus point is that the bathroom was looking a bit tired- there was a poorly executed repair to the bath. A car would be useful- the bus service into Olbia is good but it is not easy to sort out onward connections. There are limited places to walk to around the hotel other than along the beaches.

Stayed one night in a fairly small and awkward room in the separate house with breakfast included, breakfast was ok, coffee at breakfast was un-drinkable, so I ask for coffee instead, which they charged for, I find this a bit unnecessary and disappointing, I think it's better to stay in an Agriturismo at half the price.

Just home from our third stay at this charming hotel and I can truly say, it's like "coming home". From the moment we arrive till the moment we leave we couldn't be happier. The location is perfect, right by the pretty beach with its fine white sand and crystal clear water. And views of the surrounding countryside and Il Tavolara, the nature reserve where there are Dolphins , it really is a stunning location. We love the staff, everyone is kind, friendly , helpful and happy, which creates a wonderful feeling of peace. The gardens are really well kept, there's a hot tub and a small pool. There's wi-fi throughout the hotel which is new and a real benefit, and the rooms are cool, comfy and stylish. The breakfast buffet is full of delicious cakes and pastries plus all the usual cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. And Ninos restaurant is an elegant place to dine in the evening . We always hire a car, giving us independence to explore . So, special thanks to Stefania, Juliet , Mona, Anna, Guiseppe and Ivan we look forward to seeing you next year.

This was our second visit to Hotel Stefania, and if I could just say thank you so much everyone for making our stay so enjoyable, we had a lovely room with a great sea view ( No 38 ), the room and the hotel are spotlessly clean, the improvements have definitely made a difference its much better now the wifi is throughout the hotel. A special mention for the reception staff Juliet, Moona & Katy, we had such a wonderful day out on the boat trip watching the Dolphins, thank you for arranging it for us and thanks for all your help during our stay. Dear Stefania keep up the great work that you and all your staff do in making our holidays special, we do hope uncle on the bar gets it, he try's hard and is such a lovely fella, Max on keyboards is a great addition as evening entertainment, although to help him and your guests if he had book of songs that he performs rather than us asking for songs that he did not know, we wish you all good health, wealth and happiness in the future. We look forward to another holiday soon xxxx

Positives: Hotel Positives: Great , warm sunny weather Hotel give information about various trips/ excursions that they arrange at reasonable rates, such as an archaeological tour, boat tours, shopping trips Hotel close to Olbia airport, so speedy transfer within 30 minutes- hotel kindly arranged our transfers at a very reasonable rate( Travel Republic did not appear to offer this service for this particular hotel, even though I asked them and received no response other than " go onto their FAQs section" - this is fine but I could not find any transfer service to this hotel's location, so I did not find Travel. Republic very helpful on this occasion- I have always booked my transfer via TR in the past, ) Hotel spotless; very unique decor 150 yards from white, sandy beach with crystal clear, shallow water, with hotel's own stretch of white, sandy beach, shallow up to buoys put out by hotel's own lifeguard on duty daily. Guests are allocated a beach towel each from hotel and a sun bed and brolly Food choice and quality excellent , freshly prepared , with a good choice of local dishes such as fish and meat alongside pasta dishes and freshly prepared salads. We had the half board option, which gave a three course dinner each night Lunch time menu available, again excellent quality and choice Owners on site each day to ensure smooth running of everything Room exceptionally spotless, probably the cleanest hotel room that I have ever stayed in terms of attention to the way the room is maintained daily- fresh towels rotutinely given daily; items tidied Resident singer every night, who sang a variety of Italian songs as well as more well- known English popular music. He has an excellent voice and really engaged with his audience, encouraging their participation - my husband sang a song or two every night!! The singer had his own karaoke system, which was great fun All rooms, including ours, which was a standard room , had either a window or doors that looked into or opened onto the lovely , immaculately maintained gardens. I would definitely ask for a room with French doors, if I booked again, as these rooms had sun lounges directly outside Great pool area, with shallow kiddies' pool. Beautifully clean and clear . I particularly liked the fact that nearly all guests went to the beach every day and we stayed up and sunbathed in the lovely gardens, with their own sun loungers and brollies/ parasols . This made it lovely and quiet Wifi available throughout hotel, including the gardens, which meant that I could tune into My music on my electronic devices and listen to English radio stations Regular bus into centre of Olbia from outside hotel Mini mart short walk from hotel for basic supplies such as bottled water Negatives: this hotel is worth my exceptional rating here but there were some personal negatives/ suggestions for room for improvement: Hotel guests appear to be mainly Italian, which is fine. However, this did mean that the staff spoke either no or very little English, apart from the owner( who is English and some of the other reception staff and head waitor) . I do not expect everyone to speak English BUT I fdo feel that staff, especially the restaurant and bar staff, need a reasonable working knowledge of terms relating to their trade in English which is, let's face it, a universal language ; terms such as " house wine", " butter" " milk" spring to mind but there were many other examples. This is the first time that I have been away that I felt the language barrier to be a real issue, especially when we did try and pick up on some of the Italian terms and use them to try and make ourselves understood. It became an issue when, at the end of our stay, we came to settle the bar and restaurant bill and we had been charged all different prices for wine throughout the week, even though we had consistently asked for house white. To the manager's credit, this was resolved at the end of the holiday and it was acknowledged that we had , indeed, asked for house We had a standard room( no other choice on TR website). The room was fine for the two of us, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated. It had one window, which overlooked the pretty garden areas. However room could be dark if window and shutters were not wide open as room lighting not very bright. It was luck that the time of year allowed us to get dressed during the light evenings. close to Olbia airport, so speedy transfer within 30 minutes- hotel kindly arranged our transfers at a very reasonable rate( Travel Republic did not appear to offer this service for this particular hotel, even though I asked them and received no response other than " go onto their FAQs section" - this is fine but I could not find any transfer service to this hotel's location, so I did not find Travel. This is the first time that I have been away that I felt the language barrier to be a real issue, especially when we did try and pick up on some of the Italian terms and use them to try and make ourselves understood. It became an issue when, at the end of our stay, we came to settle the bar and restaurant bill when we were charged varying prices for wine, even though we had specifically requested the house. To their credit, the management did resolve this, accepting that we had, indeed, asked for house throughout the week. Breakfast well laid out with selection of eggs , frankfurter-type sausages with bacon pieces with big selection of varying pastries, tea, coffee, juices and water.I would have liked some more English- type sausages and nice grilled tomatoes; also , may be too many pastries for breakfast??? Although, the lattice jam tart was lovely!!! For trips, could more information leaflets be in English too, please ? We had to seek a lot of information from the reception staff, which was fine and they did not appear to mind but it may have helped them to not keep repeating themselves, had there been leaflets that we could read

We had a large room with TV, large and modern bathroom with replenished toiletries and mini bar/fridge. The breakfasts were very good with a large choice including hot eggs, bacon and sausages. The pool area was very quiet and peaceful. The food on half board was excellent. The staff were lovely especially the receptionists.

Before mentioning any negatives, I would like to say that we (4) thoroughly enjoyed our 12 night stay at the Stefania. If you are looking to simply relax on holiday, then this hotel should be high on your list. The hotel is not overtly luxurious in a marble and polished chrome way, but seems to possess a quiet, understated luxury once you allow yourself to be immersed in the atmosphere and overlook the odd faults. The presence of the owner, and his helpful staff, gives this hotel a soul, that is sadly missing in many larger hotels. Half board came with a perfectly acceptable breakfast and a separate evening menu from the standard restaurant menu, which while not being spectacular was quite good. The restaurant is open sided to the pool and is very pleasant indeed. The gardens are exceptionally well kept, and lead down from the pool area which is slightly compromised by being situated too close to the restaurant (pool closed from 1pm - 3pm). However we were often the only people in the pool and there were lots of free sunbeds around the gardens. The beach is close and free sunbeds and umbrellas in the small roped off area were a real positive. The beach was quite crowded (late July / early Aug). Evening entertainment suited the style of the hotel with the same (good) singer performing every night. The negatives are fairly minor. The lack of tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms is a shame, and could be so easily remedied. Beach towels were supplied but not automatically changed after say a week. (there is a rather petty 3 euro charge to change, which once again could so easily be improved upon.) In summary this hotel may be a little quiet for some tastes, and there is nothing much around it apart from the beach, but we did enjoy our stay - including our two older teenagers, who we had feared might have become a little bored. Renting a car, via the very helpful reception staff and getting out a few times was a good decision, as was the odd bus trip into Olbia..

This place is a rare find - a genuinely family- run boutique hotel (and restaurant!) with its own section of the beautiful beach. It has a killer view from the pool at the hotel. Stefania and family go all out to ensure you have a great experience, which we did from the time we arrived until the moment we left. I cannot wait to return and it is no surprise that while at the hotel, we met lots of people who were themselves on repeat experiences at the hotel. Truly special place.
