This family-owned hotel is comfortable, clean and well-run. We had one of the few rooms with a balcony, with a table and two chairs. Our room was large with a comfortable bed, a small settee and sufficient storage space. Reception staff were particularly helpful and the waiting staff, especially the young lady who helped at the bar, were very friendly. We hired a car and had no problems parking in the hotel's car park. The hotel has an outside pool with plenty of sun-loungers and umbrellas. We preferred, however, to spend our time in the hotel's beach area, where there was always a breeze. There are plenty of umbrellas and loungers there too and a member of staff is on hand to get you set up for a relaxing day. You are given one beach towel as part of your room rate, but have to pay to change it. Since some guests stay for a week, whilst others for much shorter periods, we thought the hotel should change it after a fixed period of days. There were a lot of hawkers on the beach, but they didn't come inside the hotel's designated area. In June, the beach was very busy. There are a few bars/restaurants where you can buy snacks, ice-creams etc, but this is not a built up area. The Stefanie is the only hotel of any size. We decided therefore to have half board. We found the choice very limited. On Friday and Saturday night there was no choice at all. We enjoyed some meals more than others but, after we visited other resorts later in the holiday, came to the conclusion that half-board did offer reasonable value for money. All guests eat outside in the evening and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. Most evenings there was a singer, whom we enjoyed listening to. Breakfast was continental. The items on the buffet breakfast were standard, but there was good quality bread and croissants. Items were regularly replenished. English breakfast tea was available, but not on display.

We stayed at this hotel for one week from 4-11 July, having booked Easyjet flights and then booked the hotel independently from the hotel's own website. It was very straightforward. We booked bed & breakfast but on arrival were told that we could also book a 3 course evening meal each day for 15 euros, which we thought was quite good value and we decided to book it for the week. The owner Stefania and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful with very good English and go out of their way to help and please you from the time that you arrive. We had a garden room (double) on the ground floor which was very quiet and private, with safe, 24hr air con (very necessary as it was around 35 degrees each day) hairdryer, and towels for the beach included. Tea & coffee making facilities are not included in the room, but I emailed the hotel before we arrived asking about this and Stefania quickly replied and said she would put a kettle/cups & saucers etc in our room at no extra charge, which was very welcome. We found the hotel very clean and bedrooms/bathrooms are cleaned each day. Breakfast was plentiful and we enjoyed the fact that the scrambled egg, breads, cakes and biscuits and quiche were all home-made in the kitchen. There was fresh fruit, cheeses, hams, salad and cereals as well with tea/coffee/fruit juices and the restaurant overlooks the pool and the sea just in the distance, and the waiters were very pleasant and helpful. For evening meal again the chairs and tables were overlooking the pool in the open air and some evenings there was a musician playing. Each course in the evening was generous, especially the starters, perhaps a little more choice on each course would have been nice, and more items in the salad, but we enjoyed our meals each evening. We find Italy in general a little pricey for drinks but made the most of the happy hour 6-7pm at the bar, two drinks for the price of one. The hotel has a lovely pool and jacuzzi and hot tub and also a gym/fitness area indoors. A short walk through the hotel garden takes you to the beach, only a couple of minutes walk away and free sunbed & umbrella for hotel guests, which was welcome. The beach was very hot and quite crowded but the sea was warm and safe to swim in with a lifeguard present. Pittulongu itself has a lovely sandy beach but if you are looking for nightlife or bars it isnt the place for you, just 3 restaurant/cafes on the beach itself, it is ideal for a relaxing holiday. Olbia airport is a short drive or bus journey away as is Olbia town, which is worth a visit. Plenty of shops/bars etc there. We didnt hire a car but used the buses a couple of days in the week, only 1 euro for a ticket if you buy it in a shop before you get on the bus, the ticket lasts 90 minutes so you are able to use more than one bus in that time and the times of the buses are displayed at the bus stops in Olbia, and when it will arrive, it seems quite efficient. As the weather was very hot, we didnt venture far. One of the best things about this hotel is the hospitality and friendliness of the staff and its relaxed setting and we had a very enjoyable stay.

We have had a fantastic two weeks in this authentic Sardinian hotel. The staff were all really nice and helpful. The pool and gardens were really tranquil and the beautiful sandy beach was close by. The food was good , and the kitchen was happy to provide alternatives to the standard menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in pittulongu, the weather was not fantastic all week but we managed to do some exploring to keep ourselves entertained when we weren't at the beautiful beach. We stayed in villa stefania which is just across a small road (quiet road which leads to the beach only) and I would say based on other pictures that these rooms are much newer and modern. Perfectly clean and great shower. The staff were very helpful as we did not have a hire car so they helped us to work out how to navigate using the buses. We used the number 4 bus to go into Olbia a couple of times and is very easy, we also caught a 'sun line' bus from Olbia up to Porto Cuervo and also marinella which was cheap and good to see some other parts of the island as the local area is very quiet. We were staying on a b&b basis and breakfast was good but cake and carb heavy! Would have been nice to get an omelette or something without extra charge. If you like your tea (as us English do) I'd take some tea bags to breakfast with you as theirs is terrible! Haha We tried all of the restaurants in the local area, of which there are 6 (including the hotel restaurant) and mama beach was our favourite followed by the hotel. Trattoria rosa (a 2 min walk) has great pizzas which we often had during the day on the beach for lunch. A great stay overall, everything seems expensive but that's probably a lot to do with the current exchange rate!

If you would like to truly relax, this is the right place for you. The Staff is exellent and very attentive, they always smile at you.The Hotel has a very nice swimmingpool with yacuzzi and a private area for guests in a beautiful beach. The distance from the hotel to the beach is just two minuts walk. For Lunch it is wounderfull to eat on the terrace overlooking the sea and for Dinner the Restaurant is simply amaizing, great service and quality of food.It is 10 Years that I came to the hotel. I thank everybody at the Hotel Stefania for making my holidays always wouderfull.

The hotel itself is lovely and relatively small! The rooms are simple chic, terribly well kept, whitewashed and comfortable. Theres plenty of hot water, and it's a quiet stroll down to the beach 80 or so metres away. The gardens are lovely, green and well watered. The flowers and flowering shrubs were filled with bees and the beneath the various roofs were swallows, and swifts flying in and out feeding their young......the sparrows, and blackbirds heralded in the dawn with their chorus"! There are a few loungers in the garden for those like us who prefer a lawn to sand. Regretfully there is a down side to this lovely hotel.......the hot tub is never cleaned and is as dirty as hell and only half the jets work... go in at your peril! The pool could be cleaner too..... There is no visible shower in the garden so residents just jump into the pool ad hot tub.......making both dirty. Actually there is a shower but its hidden beneath a hedge well hidden from the pool.......and also a version of a shower by the back does work as I switched it on but its really a poor excuse for one. Breakfast is pretty average really.... Dinner...well we had a really bad experience over the nights we stayed. We'd happily go back to stay but not to eat in their restaurant or talk to the Management who were extremely rude and arrogant......

A small and very friendly hotel, Lovely, stylish room but won't tell you which one as I don't want to sing it's praises too much in case it is fully booked next time I can go!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were staying as B and B so can only comment on the breakfast. Well, what can I say? The choice of food at breakfast was great. Choice cereal, scrambled egg, yoghurt, croissants, fruit, various hams, cheese, cakes, biscuits, marmalades and jams. Tea, coffee and a choice of fruit juices.Just help yourself to whatever you fancy. I have probably missed a couple of things!! Small pool with adjoining garden was gorgeous. Alternatively, you can walk through the gardens and onto the road , turning right and walking for about 200 yards you reach the beautiful beach. Couple of beach bars there. All in all, a fabulous place to totally chill out. Thanks must go to Ileana for her fabulous cocktails and to her and Malcolm for posing with a rather battered comb ( a wind up for a friend here in England) Thank you all so much and see you again soon

Spending a week here I have decided to stay another week! The hotel is amazing as it is situated on a beautiful location by the sea with wonderful hiking trails and the most intoxicatingly scenery. The staff is very friendly and and service is great! As for the food in their beautiful restaurant... soooo delicious and presented as a work of art! Bravo Hotel Stephania! You really know how to do it right! I may never leave! Thank you for you kindness and great accommodations! ❤️

I stayed for a week at the Hotel for a little Getaway. The Reception staff was very nice and very helpful and after wanting to change the room after the first night (there was only one double bed for my sister and myself) the changed us to a bigger more comfortable room with two beds without extra charge. I thought the was a very nice gesture. The Hotel is not directly on the beach, but only a couple hundred meters up a road........the beach and the ocean there where very very beautiful and excellent for swimming. The reason I only give it 4 stars was the food. It seemed abundant, but somehow the quality did not quite live up to my expectations. This is true for the breakfast buffet and also for the Restaurant. We where not on half pension but got to choose a la carte....The Service was good in the Restaurant but none of the dishes I ate where wow.....(my sister liked hers a bit better).....Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hotel is charming and immaculately clean - from rooms to all public areas including gardens. Stayed for 10 days b&b in small complex opposite main hotel. Lovely beach 2 mins walk down side road with private area for hotel guests. Breakfast is plentiful and good although coffee takes some getting used to. Restaurant food very good too. Staff are very efficient and pleasant. Reception staff and Stefania herself deserve a special mention - they were friendly, informative and always ready to help. Altogether, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. Just one suggestion: perhaps there could have been 1 or 2 more English language channels on tv; not just BBC news and US business channel. Also would have liked a kettle in the room but this may not be a usual feature of Italian hotels.
