Just got back from this beautiful hotel, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast good, room lovely, the balcony overlooked the courtyard and the smell of the Jasmine when you opened the door in the morning was bliss! What a wonderful way to start your day. The walk up to the village from the hotel takes only about 5 mins up quite a steep hill! but once there, it's just buzzing with lovely bars and restaurants. Would like to give a special mention to Charlie and team at Luck Cocktail Bar, so friendly, food great, cocktails fab and a super selection of gins! Would definitely return to this hotel and if you want peace and tranquility, then this is the place to go, FAB!!!
Normally, I’d have given this hotel top marks. The facilities were good, the staff excellent and location great (short – if steep – walk to restaurants and bars). But there were a number of minor niggles that, on their own are not really an issue but collectively make a difference. Silly little niggles that with a bit of care, attention and maintenance, could have been avoided. The staff can’t be faulted and they tried very hard to address the issues. 1) The air con didn’t work in our first room. It was 30+. We were quickly switched to another room. Were told three rooms were affected by a faulty part. 2) In the new room, the temperature was controlled by the main desk. The lowest it could go was 16 – still not great but an improvement! 3) Noticed one other room couldn’t raise their blind so had to bend over to get to and from the balcony. 4) Another resident reported a problem with an internal door in a full suite not closing 5) The evening buffet didn’t look that appetising! 6) One day only one staff front of house at breakfast – tables not cleared, food not replenished etc. Word got back to front desk and two managers rushed over to help. 7) Plenty of sun loungers but not enough cushions!
This is a spa hotel built in the moorish style with 95 rooms, very friendly and helpful staff we had a problem with air con in our room, room was changed and a bottle of cava given no fuss. Rooms are very large with balconies some facing the courtyard, village and some the mountains. No music or entertainment just a relaxed atmosphere. Situated in the bottom of a valley approached through a gorge there is a village on the opposite hillside known as the gastronomic corner of Andulacia with about 35 restaurants, a foodies delight. There are plenty of walks in the area, the holiday centres of San Pedro and Porto Banus are about a twenty euro taxi ride away, Marbella and Gibraltar are a little further. This was our second visit and we weren't disappointed.
Been to this hotel many many times we love it. In fact so much we got married here in 2011 and have been coming back 2 or 3 times a year since.this hotel has everything Great staff brilliant buffet breakfast included in your room rate. The pools are lovely .the hotels location is fantastic Right in the village and only 15 minutes from the beech
Very nice hotel in a beautiful valley location overlooked by the pretty village of Benahavis, the staff are friendly and reception staff ready to help with local knowledge and advice. The hotel has very spacious rooms and large beds to match, the suite we had had a spa bath with shower over and a separate shower cubicle but the chrome fittings in the cubicle were a bit tired looking. The house keeping was first class with clean towels every day and the room was kept very clean and tidy. The food was good with a good choice at the breakfast buffet which can be enjoyed outside in the courtyard or inside, the evening meals are served in the restaurant with a choice of 3 starters 3 mains and several choices of deserts when the hotel is less than 50% occupied and in the buffet when more guests are staying with more choices. If staying bed and breakfast there are numerous restaurants in the village of very good standard to chose from. The hotel is generally very quiet although there is a wedding/function building which when in use closes the lower pool area and makes the other pool very busy. Pool towels are available for a small deposit There are some nice walks along the river in both directions but there is a very limited local bus service so adventuring further out is best done in a hire care, this can be arranged at reception with the car delivered and collected to and from the hotel.
room was very spacious and clean. we stayed in one of the chalets by the pool which was very pretty and convenient. breakfast was very good but evening meal was very mediocre, should have just booked for bed and breakfast. There are plenty of restaurants in the village with great food and are reasonably priced. the surrounding area was beautiful but it was too hot to go exploring. The staff were always very helpful but a couple of the reception staff seemed quite brisk we had to try really hard to get some local information from them. There wasn,t any local transport to anywhere and the price of a taxi to Marbella was about 40 euros. I would recommend this holiday and would go back there again if they introduced local transport.
We are staying here at the moment and it's a truly lovely hotel old Spain very unspoilt the countryside around the hotel is beautiful but you do need a car if you want to see the area but if you are a walker there are plenty of wAlks around the hotel. The food is well prepared and cooked just right but why they can't invest in a proper warming system I don't know, the food is spoilt by being Luke warm and that is eating when the restaurant opens at 8 if you eat at 9 then it must be cold. The spa is also very good, the hotel has everything you need but it's such a shame that the temperature of the food lets its down. Management if you read this do something about it you have a great hotel don't let the tempreture of the food spoil what you have..
Beautiful hotel, stunning location Our room opened out to the pool area, lots of sun loungers.... Breakfast was good with tables set outside in courtyard, or inside. We didn't eat at hotel as we hired a car so travelled to Ronda which is a must see and also drove to Gibraltar There are plenty of restaurants in the town which it a 10 min walk (up hill)
What a fab hotel nice staff clean tidy. Amazing spread for breakfast. We would defiantly recommend to anyone. Up in the village a huge choice of places to eat .The room was huge clean towels every day friendly chambermaids always a smile .
First time at Benahavis. The area is truly beautiful but unless you want to spend the whole holiday around the pool then you need a car. Hotel is desperately in need of repair in places and a paint job . Spa was ok, but again don't sit around Hydro pool unless you want to be covered in crumbling sand stone, not a great look. And the sauna steam room wasn't working! Entertainment at the hotel is non existent. Yet could offer so much. There is only one bus per day which leaves at 7.15 in the morning to Marbella and returns at 7.30 at night. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am. Generally speaking lovely staff and facilities but poorly looked after. Car hire We've hired a car from a car rental company the hotel recommends. 218 euros for 6 days for a ford fiesta. The car arrived dirty inside and out with numerous scratches, partly missing door handle and 76000 Kms on the clock. We took the excess insurance for an extra 10 euros per day. If you want to hire a car I suggest you book through another company. Other cars we've seen driving around look far better, doesn't look good on the hotel for recommending them. The pool! Manager - if you are reading this can you please arrange for the pools to be cleaned? There are dead insects floating on the top of the pools and a film of suncream. Happy to see the lifeguard by the pool but whilst he's sat doing nothing because there is no one in the pool to br saved then maybe he could be cleaning the pools. Much better value for money and happy customers. Otherwise, hotel is good, rooms are large staff are friendly and helpful dinner service and room cleaning excellent.
