Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. First visit to Salou. Loved it. Hotel is a 3 star so with the rooms you get what you paid for. Basic but adequate.Fridge was really useful, you could hire a kettle, but I was aware and took a travel kettle. Reception staff were fantastic, very helpful. One of the party had mobility problems and they sorted out a adapted room as soon as one became available. Found some of the dinning room staff and house keepers rude. One night our cutlery were just banged down on the table, not even set out. Food was nice, plenty of choice. On the first night the soup was cold, so it was a bad first impression. However, I discovered a Microwave was available. Pool area is small, but ok .guess in the summer months then it could be a problem, but we were ok. Entertainment on an evening was basic, but we often went out for the evening. Plenty of seating at the front and rear of the hotel. There were a good mixture of nationalities staying at the hotel. It is a small but very friendly place to stay. Location of the hotel is fantastic 5 - 10 min walk to the main promenade, bars and shops. To sum up I am happy to return to this hotel. great location, good value, friendly and mostly staff are very helpful.
Just back from the Belvedere Hotel in Salou. I have to say after reading some of the bad reviews it got this year it was not as bad as expected. Its true the rooms could do with a re fresh. The noise level at night was not bad. Think it depends on who is staying the same week as you, so that bit is pot luck.. We were breakfast only and did go down one morning, I ordered an omelette which looked fantastic but unfortunately it was not cooked and ran around my plate. Maybe we are just fussy but not for us. The bar prices were good and the piano lounge was a nice place to sit. We always got a sun bed without having to get up mega early and put towels out but then it was Sept. The rooms have a fridge which is very handy and the beds are comfortable enough. It is in an excellent location and very handy to beach, eating places and shops.
Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, nice atmosphere, clean rooms and nice play area for children, Reyna was exceptionally pleasent and helpful in the miniclub! Would definitely return to this hotel.
Very good family hotel stayed here for 9 days...good location close to beech bars and restaurants. Kids club brilliant Reyna went went out of her way with my 15 months grandson very happy thank you .would come back again .
staff very friendly and helpful food very good excellent choice maid in room every day clean towels daily rooms a little small for a family entertainment staff very funny enjoyed it so much we hope to return next year
Perfect location-10 minutes to the beach and 20 to PortAventura. This is a really good 3* hotel. Check in was busy but handled efficiently. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the restaurant has a very wide choice of food for all. The theme nights were great (the cheese castle was fab). The hotel is very child friendly and there is a separate area of 'children's food' as well as special teats like candy floss, gelato, popcorn etc. on theme nights. The show cooks were great and the omelette guy was really friendly (i tried my very poor Spanish out on him). Our room was a good size and had loads of storage space and a fridge which was very welcome. The room was cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed regularly. There are loads of sunbeds around the pool area but people seemed to put towels on them from about 6.30am-some families had beds by the pool and also by the bar. The lifeguards did try to stop this and took towels off beds if they weren't being used. There are not many umbrellas for shade-these are just around the pool itself. The pool bar serves snacks that are reasonably priced-the pork and cheese baguette was delicious. The entertainment team really work hard. They have lots of activities during the day for adults and children-the pool had a large inflatable slide and an assault course some days. In the evenings there are professional shows after the kids disco which were quite good. I really enjoyed my 2 weeks here and used it mostly as a base to do other things. As i don't have young children i spent less time around the pool than i would have done as it was very busy with inflatables and children jumping in-brilliant for them but not if you fancy a bit of a cool down or a swim. If i was going back to Salou i would still stay here and would like to thank the staff for all their hardwork.
Last day now at this hotel can't wait to get home for some decent food the food here is completely disgusting always cold never cooked properly the Spanish guests are very ignorant and rude . This hotel is not for english speaking people at all also asked to keep room on as we're not going until 4 you have to be outhe of room for 10 am receprion were not in the slightest bit interested we would have paid extra no problem the hotel is nowhere near full not helpful because we're not Spanish. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for any British holidaymakers
Rooms: Pros: Beds are comfortable and showers work well. The balcony is a good size. Cons: Rooms are very small and not cleaned to a good standard. Found the cleaners hair in the bed sheets, bath and on the floor. There were also bits over the floor, it really didn't look as though it was even swept over the whole week. The cleaners maybe need to tie yo their hair or wear a hair net. The rooms are barely big enough for 2 people so if there were four people in there or a cot, you wouldn't be able to move. The rooms are okay but really need refurbishing or at least painted. The showers are awkward to use as they are on the side of the bath so the dirty shower curtain sticks to you. I really think they should invest in shower screens. Rooms don't have a big light, just 2 bedside lights so can be very dark. Reception staff: Pros: There is somebody at the desk at all times. Check in was quick once our room was available. Cons: We arrived at 11am but room was not available until 3pm. Nowhere safe to store luggage, just left in a corner of reception with not even a luggage room available. Safes are expensive and you only get 5euros returned. Staff are rude and clearly do not want to be there. Food Pros: Food is plenty and very warm. It is constantly replenished throughout. The same chefs are there all the time, so they must work long hours. Some chefs have a great sense of humour. Cons: A lot of food is mislabelled which I think could cause a lot of problems if somebody has an allergy. The waitressing staff are very slow and you can be waiting a long time to be served drinks at the evening meal. They are clearly overworked and there is not enough staff to cater for the amount of people in the restaurant. Drinks are very expensive. Pool Pros: Is a good size and fine for the amount of people there in September, but I can imagine it to be hell in school holidays. We were able to get a sun lounger without any problems, but again I can imagine it to be hell in school holidays. The pool probably would not be big enough to cater a full hotel. Cons: The lifeguard is not very attentive, he checks his phone a lot. Entertainment: I cannot comment as we did not attend any. Spa/jacuzzi: Pros: Jacuzzi is a lovely large size and very relaxing. We didn't use the gym but is wasn't up to much. Cons: You have to wear a silly swimming cap which you have to purchase at reception. Is is not clearly labelled anywhere, maybe a large sign as you walk in or before you step into the jacuzzi is needed. Apparently it is the law to wear one! Location: Pros: 15 minute walk to Portaventura and Costa Caribe. So ideal location and simple walk if you are planning on visiting here. Also short walk to the beach and shops. Cons: None Lastly there is no onsite supermarket for food, just a gift shop.
Just got back from this terrible hotel . Were to start ? When we arrived we were told that we could not have breakfast , so we went to the pool bar to get a cheese and ham toasted sandwich. It was stone cold . Dinner time we had food again stone cold . Same Tuesday by the pool side ordered a pitzza , was not cooked properly. Again dinner time food stone cold , even before we got to our table . I complained to the manager on Friday as had curry and was stone cold , all he said was sorry . I'm sure someone one day will have food posining . Complained to rep too , but she said she could do nothing about it . Fuming I am , as paid for half board and had to go eat else were as food is terrible. Bar staff were rude , trying to sever half a dozen customers at a time . Pool very small and very crowded around it with all the sun beds . This hotel should be closed down . Management well , were to start ? Seams like he had nothing better to do throughout the day , than follow people . Ever were we went ,he was there like a bad penny . Staff hygiene needs to be stepped up , as there uniform looks like they could do with a good wash . Chef was outside smoking , one was going around the food bowls picking all the bits up off the sides and put it back in the bowls . I spoke to many other people who was staying at this hotel, and we all said the same about the food . I just can't give one good point about this hotel . And yes mr manger , I know that you will comment your usual thing as I've read on many people's reviews, which is I'm sorry and my comments have been noted! Simply not good enough ... from a very angry customer and you know who I am ...
stayed in 7-12th September for myself and a friend (2 girls aged 24). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we chose half board and was well worth the money, we had breakfast and dinner very reasonable times so we didn't have to wake up too early and so much choice and plenty of food we never ate lunch any day! I personally was very impressed with the food, lots of staple foods and new interesting things to try, every night for dinner was a themed night. Really enjoyed the pool, 2 double beds to us 2 girls, rooms were a normal size but will be squishy with 4 people in. I read the reviews and others moaning the hotel isn't very modern, this is true but a lot of holiday places abroad in this price range aren't very modern, saying this the shower works well, the beds were comfy (not luxurious but comfy) but what do you expect for this price? If you need more pillows just request at reception. There was shower gel / body wash in the bathroom which is nice. Air con is included in price and rooms also very good and works well. The staff we found on our stay were extremely friendly. The hotel manager was there every day and recognized us and always said hello and asked how our stay was going, the reps were more for young children but all the same nice, all other staff very polite and friendly. There were activities such as waterpolo on some says for all ages (a lot of adults joined in) and a slide for all ages too (we jumped on this haha). There is bingo every afternoon by the pool where you can win a cocktail or a bottle of bubbly, only for an hour but its nice to have a little something like that. There are a couple of pool tables downstairs if you want a drink by the bar in the evening @ 2 euro a game (standard price at any bars). The hotel had our return transfers sorted and our room was ready on arrival. Myself and my friend were very pleased with our stay, nightlife (friday and saturday were most busy although in September not as busy as I imagine July & August) was only 10 mins walk away as was the beach and its a nice short walk doesn't feel like very long. Sunbeds are 5 euro for a day if you want to rent on out. Sea water is fairly clear we didn't come across any seaweed. There was an inflatable course in the sea (about 10-15 euro not bad), jet skis etc, and a diving platform. there are numerous bars along the left side (if your facing the sea) of the sea front, lots of cocktail offers and a few clubs, Kiss and Tropicana were the good ones when we were there and a few smaller ones like Bus Stop near the hotel. 'Spa' downstairs which has heated whirlpool sauna and steam room, there are a couple of gym machines but I wouldn't call it a gym (we had planned to go but we ate too much and its a holiday so decided not to workout!) Highly recommend and would return if visiting Salou again
