We stayed here for 2 nights on our Costa Brava trip. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite free of charge, because the room we booked was occupied. I would suggest to book the room with a seaview. However it depends on which floor your room is located because you might be overlooking a roof. But still it is nice to have a few drinks on your balcony looking at the ocean. The spa is fantastic, not much to add here. Outside area and pools are also very good. The beach is not exactly private, it is used by other people as well however, it is not crowded. And it is the most beautiful part of the beach in the area. The only downside of the beach is that there is a coastal trekking path going through it and you have people walking and jogging behind you when you want to take a nap (but maybe that's just me, the grumpy guy talking). All in all, great place to stay, for sure the best overall in Platja d'Aro. Get it for a good price and you are a winner.

When we brought the problem of ants running all over our bathroom, including toothbrushes, the hotel had some chemicals sprayed in our room--but to no effect. The ants were back the following day (January 4) until our departure (January 6). During the check-out the receptionist informed us that we could not receive a refund because we had booked with Expedia. We were promised, however, that the manager (who was unavailable during our departure) would get back in touch with us. Needless to say, even upon a reminder, the management never bothered to communicate with us again.

Couldn't have enjoyed our stay more, so much so that we extended our stay. The restaurant set menu for €39 including wine was fabulous quality & value for the price. You would not be short of choice with the quality buffet breakfast on offer. The Spa facilities were absolutely amazing. Only negative is that the Hotel House cleaning was very basic, where glasses or mugs weren't cleaned& toiletries were not replaced.

We were guests at this hotel of the Commercial Director. The hotel overlooks the sea with a private beach. The rooms are warm and comfortable. The food at dinner was excellent and we were offered a good selection of fine wines.

This hotel was our first stop of a two week trip in Spain. It was a good choice. The hotel overlooks the sea, and has direct access to a small cove. The rooms are spacious and well kept. decor was fine, but not entirely my taste. The facilities are good, service by the staff is excellent: I noted what looked like an overabundance of employees considering the size of the hotel. There is an excellent spa, a small outdoor pool and adequate outside seating/lounging areas. Breakfast, which was very varied and satisfying, is served out on a sea-view terrace and is buffet style: that was the only place where some more staff could have been useful. One other note- all beaches are public so it can get a bit crowded on the cove which this hotel overlooks, but that is not a real issue. Overall, a very fine choice for a stay on the Costa Brava.

Excellent location, but let down by the food and beverage side, and lack of service. Breakfast is totally un 5 star being all self service. The 3 coffee machines have no instructions and are gathered in a corner, so that everyone jostles each other to get coffee and then not to spill it over other guests. Other guests have commented on this a year ago, so not a hotel management prioroity.Things run out and are not replaced. Food not labelled. On the last day of our stay the breakfast terrace was not set up depite the weather being excellent. Eventually a few customers ventured out abnd the tables were laid for them., Clearly the waiting staff had decided not to use the terrace for their benefit not the benefit of thecusomers. The bar is small and windowless, despite the spectacular views to be had outside. Had to find someone to serve drinks, wildly over priced and served with soggy crisps. Reception staff good, parking good, other staff need to be trained to speak to customers and smile.

Our family of 4 stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in October. For a 16 & 11 year old there is not much to do. The weather was not ideal for swimming and they could only make use of the spa pool for 2 hours a day. It is an ideal place to explore the coast line of Costa Brava from. We even drove to Barcelona and Mount Serrat on one day. Breakfast was more than adequate. We only use the hotel once for dinner as there are restaurants within walking distance from the hotel - must say not all was open due to low season. We had a family room (2 rooms with interconnecting door 114/115). The room was spacious and met all our needs. The only negative point was that this room was right where the generators/waterpumps of the hotel was located and during the night it was quite noisy. The staff of the hotel were all friendly and helpful. We contact the front desk for information on recommended wine farms and small towns to visit and it was spot on.

We stayed for a few days with the whole family in this hotel. It was a nice experience and all tried their best to let us feel very welcomed, especially the director which tried his best to find some solutions concerning our two kids during our stay. I can recommend this hotel for a nice and relaxing time in which the staff will try everything to make you feel comfortable.

Since we stayed the first week of October, it was very quiet. But the sun was out and strong so we really enjoyed the comfortable lounges by the pool. Room was big, clean and good AC. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was impressive, everything you could want, fresh and delicious. Coffee was an issue. Even though there weren't lots of people there, it still took way too long. We enjoyed good lunches every day and had dinner twice. The lamb chops were the best of our month in Spain.

We stayed in this hotel after 5 days in Barcelona and 5 days at a villa for our sons wedding. We were ready to relax and that is exactly what we did. This hotel is lovely, if a little quirky. We loved it. The room was smart, clean and well looked after with an excellent view. The bed was very comfortable. The pool, different levels of sunbathing areas, spa and facilities were all amazing. I have to be honest and say we were there towards the end of September and it was quiet which we loved. Now to the restaurant. Breakfast was an utter feast with everything you could wish for. The dinner in the evening was some of the best food I have eaten in Spain. The culinary delights that were on offer on the a la carte menu were delicious. We ate there every evening. The restaurant manager, sommelier and waiting staff were all wonderful. In fact every staff member we came into contact with were exactly what you would expect from a luxury hotel. Now to the reception staff...I unfortunately left my iPad at the hotel and the reception staff were quick to contact me. On my return home, my emails and phone calls with Pauline, Oscar and other staff on reception were so efficiently dealt with I cannot praise them highly enough. Needless to say my iPad was returned to me very quickly. Thank you everyone. We will be returning.
