Spent a week here with Saga on a walking holiday and the hotel was perfect. I cannot understand the criticism of the food unless is simply that it is not exactly like at home! Breakfast was great, admittedly always the same but instead of the usual scrambled egg only there were fried eggs and freshly cooked bacon every day. Plus fruit, cereals, yogurt etc. Good coffee and tea too. The lunches and dinners did have some duplications but there was always something surprising and often special items cooked to order. The staff were friendly, efficient and ever helpful even accommodating my thirst for wine (for on this holiday) by leaving me the bottle. Rooms were fine , we had glorious sea view and the balcony was the most generous we have ever had. There was a slight problem in that the little side road meant the coach could not get right to the entrance but upon arrival and departure the staff were almost embarrassingly helpful in insisting on taking care of the porterage. Excellent!
A lovely hotel in an idyllic setting, spoilt by food quality. Would stay here again, but dreadful food, especially dinner. Our room was fine, spotless and comfortable with a fantastic view. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fine, an ok selection, lunch ok, but dinner was unidentifiable, just didn't know what we were eating and it didn't look appetizing. We tended to stick with a plate of chips. This is the first holiday where I have come back having lost weight! We went out to eat at local restaurants for 3 nights of our stay even though we were all-inclusive. The resort town is lovely, very quiet and a few shops and a good choice of restaurants. There are some lovely walks. Fantastic clean beach.
Lovely hotel, in an excellent position for beach and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff very helpful. The rep Nikki was a lovely lady, who could not do enough to make our holiday perfect. We would thoroughly commend this hotel.
I was expected to stay for 1 night, but i had such a comfortable time, i stayed one night more. The first was fantastic room with views, the second no so much but fine. Good value. I will repeat soon.
We have been coming here for eight years now, and we stay for two months each time. This is a fantastic hotel, the situation and the sea views are amomg the best on the Costa Brava. Ask for a sea facing room with panoramic views of the exquisite little bay. The hotel staff are absolutely wonderful, warm and caring (per the groups logo) and the food is excellent. Buffet style and little cause to wander out for as meal, but S'Agaro has very good restaurants. We hope to keep coming to this hotel for many years to come and hope you do too. Its simply wonderful.
Good hotel with well-kept rooms and facilities. Location is perfect just in front the main beach of S’Agaro ( Platja de Sant Pol ). Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and facilities and well sized pool area and pool. Rooms overlooking the beach are very nice, with balconies tables and seats. The hotel also offers half board and full board, it is a valuable extra to have considering that restaurants around the area can get pricy during summer months. There is enough food selection on the buffet, but if staying for a long period it can get a bit boring. Overall I had a good stay, and I would recommend the hotel for a weekend away or a few days at the beach, even if during summer period, the cost for a room is overpriced.
We stayed with my family for the third year in a row at this hotel. We love Costa Brava and this hotel is an excellent option. The rooms are comfortable and clean, as well as the bathrooms. Do not look for luxury. It is not a luxurious hotel but a very comfortable one. It has a pool, serves breakfast, and parking is available (at a price). We do not recommend the restaurant, the food is not good. However, having a good glass of wine or a refreshment at the terrace overlooking the beach, it is wonderful. Regarding the food, this is not an issue at all, since at the beach-front, walking distance from the hotel, there are plenty of good restaurants (particularly María Rosa!). The hotel has a gym and they have significantly improved the Wifi. The personnel is very kind and helpful.
I had a single room which was satisfactory. Everything in the room worked. There was a good sized television with programs in quite a few languages including English. Some single rooms have a fridge and some do not. The shower room was fine for me but it was tiny so anyone of ample proportions might be better to request a room with a bathroom as I understand that these are larger. The hotel was very close to the beach and there was a lovely view of the bay from the dining room. There was a good sized fitted wardrobe but only a very small amount of drawer space. The drawers were in a small cabinet inside the wardrobe. The drawers and wardrobes are the same in double rooms as in singles. There were three computers in the public area and these were free to use. I do not have and I-pad, I-phone or lap top so I do not know if there was in room wi-fi. The hot food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was lukewarm. I was on a Saga holiday and spoke to the rep about this but he did not seem interested so I spoke to a receptionist about the problem. I said that I understand that people in Mediterranean countries like their food served at this temperature and suggested that the hotel provide a microwave in the dining room which guests can use to make food hotter as is done in some other hotels. I gave my room number and requested a response. No one bothered to respond. I like salad but I did not come on holiday to spend the best part of two weeks living on it. There was rarely cold meat to eat with the salad. The cold fish was either tinned sardines or something grey and unidentifiable. There was also unidentified cheese. One guest did try to get the food labelled with a modest degree of success but that did not last long. Too much trouble perhaps. With one exception I found all of the staff to be pleasant and helpful. On Friday 17 June I was very tired and headed for bed at 22.00. There was loud music playing in the S'Agaro Mar Hotel which is up the hill behind the Ilunion Caleta Park. I went back downstairs to the bar. I tried again later but the loud music was still playing. Fair enough. It is the holiday season after all. At 23.05 I phoned reception and asked politely if they knew when the music usually stopped. I had it in my mind that there might be a law or bye law which determined that. I was not complaining but I am now. There were two men in reception and whichever one answered snapped "Is not our hotel! How we know that?" Very rude, no way to treat a guest and the reply came out so quickly that it almost certainly showed the person in his true colours. Impossible to have a conversation after that. My first and probably last visit to an Ilunion hotel mainly because of the food and because of what appeared to be a either a cannot be bothered or could not care less attitude about it.
Very pleasant place Very good sea landscape and close to the beach and beginning of walk paths However room looks a bit old but very clean, if you don't dislke shower curtains you will apreciate Complete breakfest with synthetic fruit juices, the only bad note
