This is a nice hotel. All marble / tiled rooms with great bathroom and shower. Spotlessly clean. Nice staff. Underground parking free for motorbikes. Did not want to go to Barcelona and was at Cataluna MotoGP so this hotel was in great spot. Old town very historic and I was surprised about how good it was. Great breakfast in hotel with lots of stuff including sliced oranges and kiwis and pineapples. Hotel bar beer was 1.80 euro for a "pint". Busy street but never heard a sound inside the rooms. Room doors were very thick. Oh by the way the easiest MotoGP we have ever got out from. About 3 minutes from starting bike in circuit we were on motorway.

We had a comfortable stay here and it is a 20 min walk to the old town and even closer to a main square full of restaurants. Breakfast was fine, traffic noise a little loud but not major. Reception staff were efficient and the bar downstairs is nice.

Part of a group of 8 golfers who stayed in 2 double rooms and 4 singles and all were very pleased with the Hotel Gran Ultonia. Rooms were modern and very clean and showers were brilliant, huge, walk in with rain forest shower heads and the room we had on the first floor was very quite. There is a big room beside reception to store the golf clubs and there was never any trouble getting staff to open it at any time. Reception staff were always pleasant and recommeded good restaurants. Buffet breakfast was fine, not much in the way of hot food but good breads, meats, fruits and coffee etc. Very centrally located so overall a very good experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights with friends. Pleasant hotel, friendly staff, good rooms. A shame the terrace is not open during the day. The best thing about this hotel is it's location, all the major tourist sites are walkable. A perfect place for a short break...lots to see, plenty of places to eat and drink at very reasonable prices.

Room overlooked a service shaft of other windows. You had to look up to see the sky! (Curtain was closed as we entered the room, that was the clue). The cafe adjoining the hotel served the greatest breakfast at a very sensible price(compared to in the hotel itself, on the 1st floor). Perfectly placed for the old town and tree lined squares and boulevards of cafes and shops. The staff on the desk were friendly and helpful. Didnt eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food, but the hotel was clean and nicely furnished. Couldnt have asked for a better location.

Stayed at Ultonia Hotel Girona with my wife for three nights and it was fantastic, the reception from start to finish were very helpful and in particular a young lady called Norah who was very helpful on every occasion that we required any info. Our room wasn't quite ready so she directed us to a little restaurant around the corner where we could get a drink and some Tapas which were very nice and reasonable inexpensive. When we did arrive to our room it was fantastic, nice and clean and a beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bed. Didn't have a meal in the hotel restaurant but did have a drink whilst watching some football. All in all, a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again. Also very close to the Cathedral and various other tourist attractions.

Stayed here at the end of April for three nights while exploring Girona. It's a city hotel but you really couldn't pick a better placed location from which to be based. Everywhere is such a close walk including Independence Square, the Cathedral, Jewish Quarter etc. The actual hotel looks like it's brand spanking new and our room was a great size, huge bathroom and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was buffet style but with lots of choice including cereals, fruit, eggs, bacon and lots of chorizo and local Spanish hams. We didn't really use any of the other hotel facilities as we were out all day every day but if I had to visit again I would definitely use this as my base.

We wanted somewhere to stay (with our dog too) in Girona when planning to meet up with daughter for a much anticipated get-together as she was staying nearby. We didn't know any hotels there so picked this hotel on the basis of trip advisor ratings given by people with dogs. It certainly proved its worth. It is a lovely well positioned hotel with on site parking - very convenient. We were made very welcome and had a lovely room. You have the facility to have breakfast in hotel (or not) as you wish. Ideal for us and our well behaved dog and easy walk to old quarter for eating out. Thoroughly recommend hence excellent rating! Would stay here again with no hesitation!

We visited Girona for a week before Easter because we got a great deal . The Gran Ultonia was perfect for us and very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful , the cleaning lady was amazing and the room was always spotless . Room was a good size, huge bed and the best shower ever. The location was perfect, a walk from the train and bus station and 2 minutes from the old town . Girona can be noisy at night with people having a good time but we were very quiet . Sadly the roof bar wasn't open but we were so close to bars and restaurants it was fine. Thank you for a great week . Girona is a very beautiful town with lovely people.

We stayed for 10 days touring Catalonia and visiting Girona and were very comfortable here The hotel is within easy reach of the rail and bus stations - we walked to and from often It is also a very easy walk to the old town or the Plaça de la Independència which is the tourist hub for bars and restaurants We dont eat breakfast in hotels but there was an excellent cafe Da Vinci one block away on the corner of Carrer Miquel Blay and Gran Via de Jaume We dont usually eat dinner in hotels either but we ended a couple of evenings in the bar which needs a refit - this was the only weakness as far as we were concerned The staff were excellent - both at the desk but also the housekeeping staff - the room was always spotless The room was a twin bed, with a large shower - plenty of hot water and soundproofing good In summary - very conveniently sited, very safe and comfortable
