Tossa del mar is a gem of a place, cannot fault it. Clean town with a lovely beach, (sand a bit gritty). Lots to do and many trips of the area. The restaurants are many and prices ok. The oasis spa hotel was very good, food of a good standard. The staff were Spanish so normal,happy,friendly and helpful. Ha ha. The pool area was very good, lots of sun beds and free towels to use by the pool. The room was nice and lovely bathroom. A charge of 21 euros per week to use the room fridge and 30 euros to use the room safe was a bit of a bummer. The price of wine or even water was expensive in the restaurant so did not bother. The drinks at the hotel bar were good. The measurements of spirits were large. The entertainment was ok, the flamingo dancers brill, and a organist and singer brill. The bingo and bar quiz not so good. Met some really nice people. Yorky from Yorkshire, brum from Birmingham, someone from Kent. Think his name Scouse. Would recommend this town and hotel.
I stayed here four nights in October and enjoyed my stay. My single room turned out to be a large single-occupancy double. Great bed, spacious room, good bathroom and decent balcony overlooking the pool which got the sun all afternoon. The design is bland, but everything was clean and worked well and I'd rate the room a good average for its 4* category. The hotel has lots of facilities; a very large outdoor pool surrounded by plenty of sunbeds, an indoor 'spa' with small splash pool, good jacuzzi and steam room; a fairly large bar area, etc. There is something for everyone here. The restaurant is quite large, and can be a little noisy when busy. However, there are some quieter corners and frankly, the food was very impressive. There is a great breakfast on offer with eggs and pancakes cooked at the show cooking station, and plenty of choice of everything including fresh fruit. Freshly heated gluten free rolls were available to order, as well as GF croissants/ pain au chocolat - impressive. Dinner was also very good - a large salad bar, plenty of main course options both at the buffet and cooking station - and it was good quality. The special Saturday fish and seafood evening was excellent - various types of fresh fish, king prawns, razor clams, mussels... very enjoyable. The location of the hotel is good - it's in a quiet part of town but still a less-than-10 minutes easy stroll to the beach, old town and bus station. Staff were generally all very nice and the restaurant MD does a great job and has a nice sense of humour! The main negative for me was just that the hotel felt a little busy and noisy sometimes - and given that it was October I imagine this would be moreso in peak season. The evening 'entertainment' (very basic stereotypical singers and dancing etc.) rather echoes around the hotel until 11pm or midnight, for example. In summary, it's a very comfortable hotel that appeals to a wide age group and I would return again, though I'd also consider the smaller sister hotel Sa Riera nearby if peace and quiet was a big priority.
Another great stay at The Oassis Tossa & Spa.. Thank you to the reception staff for changing my room at 10pm from a noisy one to a quiet one! Food always good.. pool area beautiful.. Staff as always polite, professional and very helpful.. Bar staff lovely! Thanks again
Obviously the hotel does not take on feedback, or they are overruled by head office, if you look at the reviews , time and time again people comment about the fridge thing, I have stayed in 4 star hotels in Spain and been given free fridge and things like a nespresso machine, so because they are trying to squeeze every penny from you, on principle I would not go back , if they were clever they would perhaps put 1-2 euros on the room and offer a free fridge, that way more people would book ? just a thought but can you see the unique selling point , free fridge and safe? just a thought. we requested a low floor and pool view , ended up with top floor and street view , , the place is in need of a refurb , and looking dated , the beds were ok and but for the fact they charge for a fridge we would have stayed again, at the end of the day you just need somewhere to kip , we were only on bed and breakfast so did not use the restaurant fro meals but breakfast was more than acceptable aprt from the tea and coffee were poor quality compared with whats served at the bar
The hotel was clean, food was good for the first 4 days after which both my hussie and I became sick, vomitting and diarre. For a week we had to endure the loud noise from the bar in the evenings before 12 p.m., the only hotel that disturbs its guests, we have experienced. Neither the hotel rooms nor the bar is isolated, so the music and spanish dance can be heard clearly from the second floor. Concerning the pools, spa, there is no hygiene whatsoever, you are not required to shower, as there are no rules before using the pool etc. You come off the street or whereever, you strip right near to the pool taking off socks and shoes and just jump in the pool. I tried to air the problem with the receptionist but as he has never heard the word, "hygiene", I dropped the subject. The key problem was the most inconvenient and irritating one. You only get one key which you must also use to get in to the spa area. This required my husband and I always have to be together or he must accompany me to the spa, then go to his affair. The fridge problem is a joke. There is one in the room but it is keyed and you have to pay to use it. A fridge is a must in spain which is very warm and you can easily get dehydrated; our first experience with this inconvenience. Had we known these facts before, we would never have chosen this hotel as we travell a lot. There is no te/ coffee option. Ameneties and facilities are vital today, the hotel branch ought to know this. I would like to to see the GHT hotels in "undercover boss". The internet was very slow. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.
My family came her for the week on the 2nd October, We were so excited to be coming to the exact hotel as we did ten years agoe. We booked with teletext as we did before and flew with Jet2. Our transfer was on time and we arrived at the hotel near lunchtime, we went straight to the reception to be booked into our rooms and they took a while and then one of the female managers came out, and told us our room had been cancelled and there is nothing they can do about it.They couldn't tell us who had cancelled it and if we wanted to stay here we would have to pay again. They kept changing their story, one minute they said there are many rooms which we would have to pay again and the next they said there are no rooms. They told us we had to telephone Teletext on our mobiles which is very expensive, we were on hold all day, We had to stay in the reception all day and they didnt even offer us a drink or food. I was travelling with my mother and my 3 year old, we were dehydtraed and starving. We had booked two double rooms on the high floor with mountain views, half board for one week. The manager told us both rooms had been cancelled and then a few hours later only one room had been, so we asked if we could stay in that room whilst we tried to get hold of teletext and they had the cheek to charge us money, We were very upset and were crying and all she did was smile. one of our family members from the uk eventually got hold of teletext and spoke to the Spanish agent who apparently cancelled it, nobody knew why our room had been cancelled but he tried to get the oasis tossa to give us a room but they wouldnt give in. It is there duty to provide us with a room as it was not our fault it got cancelled. The spanish agent eventually gave us a single room next door, but on the 1st floor with bad views. The manger then told us we could only stay in that room until the Saturday as somebody had booked to stay in that room. We were that emotionally exhausted that we agreed and went to our rooms. All week we were on the phone to the spanish agent trying to get a good outcome but we didnt really get one. On the friday were told by the agent that the hotel was kicking us out and sending us to a different hotel which we had to pay for. We went to check the hotel out that they gave us and it was Hotel Continental, it was a three star and as soon as we opened the room door the most disgusting smell came out, it was a horrid drain smeel and it looked dirty. By this point i was very very angry and upset that they could treat us like this for no reeason. The agent told us then that we may have been kicked out to make room for the monarch plane custimers who needed a room. I was fuming now...We went straight back to hotel oasis Tossa and i was did raise my voice...i said ''Why are we being treated different to other people, we are getting kicked out becase you give your rooms to other people. And i can guarntee they didnt have to pay to stay there. I also said. I am not letting my child stay in that disgusting filthy hotel. All she could say was there were no rooms at all and if we wanted to stay we would all have to stay in a single room, all three of us and pay an evtra £70 for the extra person. We new whatver we said she wouldn't help us so we had no choice but to accept her offer. I ended up sleeping in the bathroom on the floor as the bed had bugs, I had about 20 bites on my body. We kept asking recepetion when out time of our transfer would be up on the wall, and they kept saying it would be up the next day, and they never even went up at all. We were given two different times by the agency so we were waiting from 5,45 until 8.30 for our bus. This experince has been very very strssful, i suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and heart palpitations....this holiday was suppose to be packed full on beautiful memories from ten years ago but i feel like they run ind it. We are going to fight for our money back. Food- was good but good do with being different. Cleaning- the cleaners did an amazing job, our room was always tidied to a high standard. bar and restaurant staff- very friendly, always made a bis fuss of my little boy. Entertainment- Was ok, but even in the low season there should still be things for the children, there were many children being bored. Life guard- was very nice and friendly, nothing was too difficult for him.
We have been going to this hotel and Tossa de Mar for a number of years, and although we have tried other hotels in the area we enjoy The Tossa Oasis the best. It's a hotel that we can relax in. The staff are really helpful in all areas. Food is buffet style, with show cooking. Breakfast is continental buffet style (bread, cheese, meat etc.) or hot bacon & eggs etc. cooked by the chef at the hotplate. There is something for everyone. This is the first time I have gone as a disabled client and had an adapted room which is on the side of the hotel. I could not access any of the pools & Spa as unable to go down the ladder steps into the pool. Could do with having Tea & Coffee in rooms & some other English channels on TV other than world news BUT WILL BE GOING AGAIN.
Definitely not a 4* hotel as was advertised. Rooms and pool areas satisfactory but food was poor quality and often served cold. Would not recommend because of the food. Had to eat out a couple of times due to lack of choice offered
Just come back from a weeks stay at the Oasis Tossa & Spa. On arrival we were given a friendly welcome and the key to our 4th floor room. The room was adequate, clean and tidy. Maids came every day. Ideal location just 10 mins walk to main shopping/eating/beach area. Stayed bed and breakfast which was OK. Due to low temperatures pool was freezing but refreshing (on the hot days). Felt that there were too many beds for size of pool - too close together. Only downside to our stay was the noise from the bus drop offs and delivery / pick up vans. Resort very nice but limited on traditional English food. On last day dropped on Holly's Bar which had a more varied menu (not just chips).
A fairly average hotel, certainly not worthy of it's 4 star luxury tag. The spa area was nice though and a silver lining. Particular disappointments were the paper thin bedroom walls, average food and poor coffee and 'fresh' juice machines. The best customer service in the hotel was from the friendly cleaning ladies.
