We enjoy staying in the hotel the view is perfect, the food is good and the Filipino waiter he served well n knows how to deal with client very good service.Nice to be back.I will recommend to my friends
We recently spent a week at this hotel and I suggest there a number of things that unfortunately just didn't hit the mark for a 5 star hotel. Overall the hotel is rough around the edges...although the cleaning staff were ever present the level of cleanliness was poor. The waiting staff were at best sullen but often nowhere to be seen. I do have to point out though that the reception staff were always friendly and helpful. What the hotel failed to deliver for their guests they more than made up for when hosting private parties/events - there were 3 during our stay, all on the sun terrace. This is obviously where they make their money and a great deal of time & effort went into ensuring they went well...i suggest to the detriment of their paying guests. The location of the hotel, sitting above the city afforded lovely views and dramatic sunsets but would not suit less mobile guests as the walk back from the city centre involves a steep incline for a good part of the way.
Very modern, trendy hotel, located on a hill just east of town, about 10-15 minutes by foot from the historic old town. Beautiful lobby bar and adjacent outdoor terrace/bar/pool deck are nice places to relax with a drink and were popular in the early evening. Ample free parking makes this especially convenient for those traveling by car. Room was large with substantial storage space, and bathroom was especially large, with both a tub and a bidet. Free mini-bar was a nice touch. Room was very reasonably priced for a 5-star property. Flat-screen TV - which was made to double as a computer monitor - could have been larger for a room this size. There could have been more lighting in the room as well. Very nice breakfast buffet was an additional 13.20 euros incl. tax.
The hotel AC have a nice location on the hill next to the city and offers a nice view over Girona, but only from the terrass and not the rooms. Fine style of internal and a clean hotel, very good breakfast and nice service. Pool and gym is very smal.
Absolutely disgusted by this hotel. We had nothing but issues with this place. Firstly the staff have terrible attitudes to the point of not giving a damn about their guests. We were served RAW chicken and no matter what country you are in this is wrong! I asked to speak to a manager immediately only for him to walk away from me while I was talking to him!! He came back to me... Would you like us to cook it more..? Are you kidding me..? I asked to speak to a manger at reception only to be told the man I spoke to wasn't even a manager... Just proving that they didnt even listen to my request. I still didn't get to chat to any member of management even thought I requested it several times. Both myself and my partner now have food poisoning. They just smiled at me and didn't take me or the situation seriously! This however was not the only issue we had. We had to change our room keys every day as they stopped working after a couple of hours and on two separate occasions we came back to our room door laying wide open! Luckily nothing was taken but you want to feel secure and again a basic requirement for a 4 star hotel. To top off the stay one of the waiters tried to rip us off by double charging us for drinks.. now I understand mistakes can be made but no apology was made to us and she was actually annoyed at me for confronting her about this. Back to the hotel itself...do not be fooled like we were by the images on the website... The pool is tiny.. the ceiling is made of chipboard ..the bedsheets had holes in them... the finishings around the unstaffed make you wait 20 minutes for a drink "bar" and pool are falling apart. This place is a health hazard in more ways than one!! Easy to say we will never be back and I implore you never to go here!!!
We had booked here for 2 nights 1st and 2nd July, however we left after the first night. The hotel looks amazing on arrival and has fabulous views over Girona to the mountains and our room was as you would expect from a Marriott hotel. However although the hotel is only a few minutes from the historic town the website doesn't tell you about the massive hill up to the hotel. There is also an ongoing problem with the gypsy park right next door. On arrival they were playing music through a sound system. We questioned this with reception only to be told they had a licence till 10.00pm and then it would stop. We decided to have a drink at the bar but no bar staff were anywhere to be seen. When a barman did eventually come the service was slow and unfriendly. I asked for some crisps to go with our beers, it's usual in Spain and most Mediterranean countries to be given a small bowl or plate of nuts or olives or crisps. He said its coming, after waiting a while I asked again and then again. Eventually we were brought some crisps very reluctantly. We then walked into town to eat and after climbing the hill back from town at 10.45pm the load music was still going on. A different receptionist then told us it would stop at 11.00pm and if it didn't she would call the police. It didn't stop, the police did nothing, if they were even called at all. The loud music continued until 2.00am and then we were treated to fireworks!! In the morning we asked to see the duty manager and was told no manager was in the hotel! I advised the reception that we were not staying for the second night because of the problems with the music and fireworks. He told us it was an ongoing problem and they can't do anything about the noisy neighbours but the mayor of Girona is aware of the problem. We were not the only people to complain at reception, a family from Holland were also not happy with the situation and were complaining at the same time as us so there must also be more complaints and not to have a manager on duty is no way to run a hotel. We have stayed in AC Marriott hotels in several locations and always been happy but unfortunately this one needs to sort itself out.
very finn hotel the staff kindly and the disk The hotel has an amazing huge outside front deck which is a great place to have an afternoon drink and watch the sunset over the mountains in the distance. berakfast was okay but you cant not make god cooffie in a mashine like that vwhere is the good old coffie not soo easy to find the hotel even you have a gps ,
I was recently in Girona on a cycling trip. Our group (of 10) were booked to stay at the AC for the 10 days of the trip. It was the perfect location for this. The rooms were adequately sized and clean. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was quiet. The service at the front desk was excellent. Our package included breakfast daily. the selections for breakfast were great, and varied. Everyone, including the vegan among us, found plenty to eat. The hotel has an amazing huge outside front deck which is a great place to have an afternoon drink and watch the sunset over the mountains in the distance. There is a beautiful view of Girona below. Only possible negative is that it is a fairly steep climb back to the hotel on your way into the city. This was an enjoyable end of day climb for us, but may not be ideal for people with mobility issues. The hotel has a locking bike cage in the garage, it was very convenient to keep our bikes there for the duration. The only other negative thing I have to add is that the service on the deck was a bit slow, and it was closed for a private function one of the days were were there. Overall, I plan to return to Girona for more cycling, and when I do I am certain I will stay at the AC. Great spot.
Checked in today, v nice hotel, v helpful guy on reception, and nice room. No complaints. Went into the town for dinner then back to the hotel around 10.30 pm hoping to get coffee and liqueurs at the bar on the terrace. It was fairly quiet, apparently 3 members of staff hanging around the bar. We sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. After about 15 minutes we walked into the hotel, past the bar, disgusted at the lack of interest of the totally self absorbed staff. Tomorrow evening we'll have coffee and liqueurs in the town before we return to the hotel.
Did really enjoy our break here, staff very good, free parking, breakfast was ok apart from the coffee machines you need a degree in technology. yes a nice stay. knocked a star down due too decor and flooring in room being a bit tatty. bt very comfy bed. one more thing google maps send you in wrong direction big time!
