This hotel is a bit of a climb from the main part of Girona, but it's worth it just for the views alone! The front patio/bar area includes a small pool perfect for lounging on a hot day. The room was spotless and quiet. The staff were also incredibly helpful. My friend had left behind important items at our last hotel and the staff here were instrumental in calling the other hotel, translating the issue, and instructing us on the best way to get to the train station to return to the previous hotel to pick up the items.
I've chosen it because I'm a Marriott rewards member. The hotel is located in a hill side of Girona, but is near the old town, only less than 10 minutes walk. My rooms were comfortable, the suite & the connecting room was good for a 6 people family. Very nice and helpful staff. You could seat on the terrace and watch the sunset. I think it is the best in town. Good quality & service for the price I paid.
We indeed staying here. The hotel was clean. They view in absolutely beautiful. Sunset was one of the most gorgeous I've ever seen in my life. The bathroom large and modern. Very clean! The bed was comfortable. Downstairs there is a fabulous Michelin star restaurant that was perfect! Its located on a step hill, not we just took the bus to and from town. Bus 7 will take you into downtown, then you need to switch to get where you need to go. I think you could reasonably walk to the Old town.
Despite the fact that this hotel sits on a very steep hill that mountain goats would shy away from we decided to stay for a second time; only because it has a great roof terrace overlooking Girona city. Previously when we stayed we had access to tea and coffee but on this occasion because we were in a standard room we were not; two small cups of tea from a machine costing five euro`s and a breakfast akin to a cheese sandwich costing approximately fourteen euro`s. Imagine my surprise when we were told by two bouncers that we could not use the roof terrace as there was a private party on; this happened on three occasions over our seven night stay. We also had the inconvenience of the majority of the chairs and parasols being taken during the late morning and afternoon to be used for the party at night. This meant that you (hotel guests) were constantly disturbed throughout the day and left without a parasol for shade in 30 degree heat. At night when the party ended all that we could hear in our room was the noise of the dishes and glasses from the party crashing along the corridor with hotel staff shouting at each other; this went on until the early morning. When I approached reception staff to complain about the roof terrace issues I was told that I could not use the roof terrace despite being a fully paid up hotel guest. I explained that almost all hotel guests book because of the roof terrace and that if this is out of use it impacts on the type of experience guests have. Reception staff were incongruous with manners not dissimilar to Basil Fawlty; hotel guests now appear to be an inconvenience and an annoyance. Due to the fact that it is a twenty minute hike into the old part of Girona city guests tend to stay around the hotel of an evening and want to sit outside. I would suggest therefore that you may want to take a chair from your room to sit in the hotel car park as you are not getting on to that roof terrace. On the Saturday while being allowed to sit on the terrace for a short period of time my wife had her watch stolen, advised hotel reception staff who failed to help us in any way. Girona is a beautiful city and I would recommend a visit but if you want to stay at this hotel bring your climbing gear and don’t expect any help from reception staff. More importantly don't assume that the roof terrace is for hotel guests; anything but.
Nice and modern hotel with great views from the terrace. It is located on top of a hill which makes its access very difficult on foot. However, it offers free parking for its guests. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great continental breakfast. I cannot give this hotel more stars for the fact that the bathroom offers NO privacy. There is a glass wall (floor to ceiling) separating the bathroom from the room. Even the toilet is in full view.
My wife and I decided to stay at the AC Hotel Palau de Bellavista on a recent visit to Girona (Catalonia), Spain, where we visit several times a year and have many friends. This was our first experience at the AC Palau de Bellavista which we decided upon as longtime Marriott Rewards members. We were thoroughly delighted with our experience at the ACPV where we were able to get a good rest in very nice surroundings. The property is located a bit far (by foot) from the Old City (Ciutat Vella) center area, but that really wasn't a negative factor. We needed the walk after indulging in Girona's terrific Catalan cuisine!!!
Just returned from several days cycling in Girona with a large group of cycling friends. Bike Breaks organized our tour ( see my review of them) and made arrangements for our accommodations. This was during one of the busiest weeks in Girona, their Festival of Flowers so many hotels were full. Normally I'd say one would be better off staying in the centre of town. This location is a 10 minute walk up a steep hill from the centre and might be challenging to walk up for older folks. On the other hand, the views overlooking Girona from their outdoor terrace were outstanding. The terrace bar is quite lively weekend evenings with a DJ and lots of young people drinking Mojitos. The rooms are basic- 3 star quality and the showers lack pressure. The breakfast buffet is good but dinners that were arranged for us were average at best. They were nice enough to let use one of their conference rooms in the basement for bike and gear storage. This is a bike friendly hotel but for average Girona tourists, you might be best off staying in the town centre.
This hotel was really beautiful and very comfortable for our stay in Girona. It was a 10 minute walk to the downtown historical old city. The walk there was all downhill, the walk home was all uphill. It might be a lot after a night of eating and drinking. But we really really enjoyed our stay at this place. Lovely breakfast in the morning as well. There was also very, very convenient parking right outside the door of the hotel.
Tucked away on a small incline, this lovely hotel charmed me in all senses. I felt like I was in a glass museum, even an architectural masterpiece. Under different lighting conditions during the day, the Mediterranean sun illuminates the interior of the hotel through the big glass windows that line the entire side of the hotel facing the city. Plus, you can enjoy the pool right in front. The feeling is luxurious (and happily, not the price, as I found it totally reasonable). Everything else of the hotel is also of high quality, including its service. Only 10 min walk away from the center of Girona through some pleasant residential streets, easy parking, I would not think of picking another place to stay if ever I am in the area.
Located on top of a hill overlooking the city of Girona, the view is splendid ... from the lobby, the cafeteria and its terrasse . But not from the rooms. Rooms are ok, modern, clean but individual safe are missing. The restaurant is offering a small but tasty choice of preparations at a very raisonnable prices. Free wi-fi every where with no code. Outside free parking. A good stop when on your way to France or to The South.
