My Daughter & i have just come back from a week at the Stella & Spa Hotel in Pineda and wanted to comment on the professionalism of ALL staff. I have never experienced such pleasantness from every member of staff as you always get a miserable moody person wherever you go. All the bar staff & restaurant staff didn't stop working from the time they started until the time they finished & they were ALWAYS happy, polite & helpful The hotel was spotless due to the hard work of all the cleaners wherever you went. I personally witnessed on two occasions staff cleaning something with a toothbrush because they couldn't reach with a cloth. Absolutely amazing & first class all around. Well done to each & every member of staff

Just back from a relaxing all inclusive holiday at Stella & Spa. I need a Gluten Free menu & happily ate at every sitting with no issues, Carlos recognised me every time & answered any queries (credit to the hotel). Yes it was salads n fish or pork dishes but they were superb & breakfast always had G/F options behind entrance. The only downside was at the pool bar where they couldn't make anything other than a plain salad (even thou I told them G/F bread in main kitchen) surely some plain ham or cheese could have been provided? This was the only blip on food service thou. Room was small (416) but great shower. The walls are as others said very thin! Maybe reminders on inside the doors as we got woken several times by room next door. The room was cleaned every day & housekeeping staff pleasant, thou very noisy @ 7am!! Bar area was light & modern looking. The guy on most days (Teo we think his name) was very polite & remembered your regular order lol The only negative is you had to go to bar as table service seemed aimed at paying guests only (we no this is how hotel makes money back on AL's but doesn't seem fair) Pool area was small but we always found a sunbed - some broken thou but usable with care. The pool was small for the size of hotel but the diving & jumping made it harder for everyone to use. Lots of signs but no enforcement. Several times we couldn't use due to this, as my sister a nervous person in water. Night entertainment was low key & in our option dated. We were told it's a small family hotel but thought it would still be more lively than got. A couple of the nights it was good but after 11pm hotel shuts down - perfect for families / older people but small simple ideas would keep the rest of us happy I.e jukebox or disco area. Maybe it was just because we the week before uk main summer holidays ?? Location is great as base to explore but you definitely need to go to information point & not rely on ticket office/ machines as we got sent in wrong direction once & twice tickets from machine not valid at other stations. Barcelona is a must see but book online if want to get into any attractions to save disappointment. Blanes is a great little town up the track - very cosmopolitan in feel & the Botanical Gardens a good visit. All in all a very relaxing holiday. I'd recommend it too friends with children or who I no like very low key. We're definitely coming back to Costa Brava as the people were fabulous & friendly & atmosphere so relaxing thou we may choose a more upbeat area like Blanes. My partner and I stayed here for the annual 25th Psychobilly Meeting Pineda De Mar 2017. We stayed from form 4th-11th July on all inclusive basis. We arrived in the early hours, check in was quick and painless. We stayed in the part of the hotel that is waiting to be updated...Room rather on the small side but was ok for our needs. Cleaned daily, with fresh linen and towels. No tea/coffee making facilties but you can hire these for the duration of your stay(a bit dissapointed as hotels we stay in normally supply this). Safety deposit box cost 20 Euros, plus 10 Euros deposit.... Pool a bit on the small side, can get annoying when children fill it up with over sized inflatables. Never had any trouble getting a sun bed, even if we went down to pool late afternoon.Didn't use the spa so can't comment on that. Food was lovely, always found something to suit(I am a fussy eater), fab desserts :) Breakfast was great also. Did find getting served a drink at lunch and dinner a bit slow at times. Bar staff were great, most staff seemed to work hard our cleaner was great :) Over all hotel is a good postion, just a 5 min walk from train station and beach and plenty of bars along the front. The only downside we felt was that we paid for 7 days all inclusive but really only got 6. On check out day, all inclusive option finishes at 11.59am, so we went out for lunch/dinner. We were lucky enough to get our room on a late check out as we didn't get picked up until 9.45pm. We booked with Thomson and were thinking of returning next year but Sumus Stella & Spa was not an option for 2018(well not at present) so was rather dissapointed that should we return for the Psychobilly Meeting Pineda De Mar 2018 we will have to look elsewhere.

I always read reviews and accept everyone has there own opinion. This hotel beats any hotel we been to including Tenerife, Ibiza, majorca and minorca. We had 10 days and could not fault the hotel in any department. Every member of staff worked hard and with a genuine smile. Rooms cleaned every day, selection of food excellent and plenty of it. A big thanks to all staff, especially the chefs, the outside temperature was mid thirties goodness knows what it was in the kitchens. Perfect location. We are already looking to book next years holiday. The hotel will be fully refurbished next year it should be upgraded to 4 * plus not the 3 * it is now. Thanks again to Linda and her team.

We stayed at the Sumus and Stella Hotel and Spa for a week on a all inclusive basis . One thing that we noticed was how hard working the staff are in this hotel . We were never kept waiting at the bar and always served very promptly with drinks in the restaurant . The reception are also very helpful . The food was also very nice and plenty to choose from . There is a lovely spa that is spotlessly clean , great asset to this hotel . One day we decided to take a trip to the beach , we thought we might go to Calala which is a couple of stops along on the train ,we asked Judith the receptionist about it and she told us she lived close by but said we might prefer another beach called Santa Christina . She helped us get a taxi and also told us what we needed to know on how to get back to the Hotel . We had a fantastic day , beautiful beach with beautiful white sand and perfectly clear blue water and the Nordic forest we had heard about . It was beautiful . There is a lovely bar on the beach which is quite reasonably priced that sells fresh food . All in all great day out , all thanks to Judith . Another member of staff who made a massive difference to our holiday was Ann Marie who works in the bar , always quick to serve us with a happy friendly smile . It makes such a difference to be made to feel welcome , also the restaurant staff work extremely hard unfortunately I didn't get to know any of their names , I wish I had because all of these people made our holiday , very relaxing and enjoyable . We stayed in room 310 , my husband was a little disappointed not to be staying in the new part of the hotel , I never make my mind up till we have been there a few days and I think we were very lucky to have been there the other side seemed much more noisey . The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard . We booked this holiday as a package with First Choice and flew with Thomas Cook , I'm not a great lover of flying , but to my great surprise our cabin crew lady picked up on it and was so kind and caring ,a first I have to say in many years of going away . On the downside we payed for 7 days all inclusive but we only got 6 we had to check out of our room at 10am so we had nowhere to go for 12 hours as we weren't being picked up till 10pm , we were told we couldn't have a late checkout as someone else was going to check in our room , but nobody did as we could see our room from the garden , we were however able to use the communal showers which we did ,they are just across from the restaurant , being a woman I felt quite violated and needed a little more privacy . This will make a difference to us booking with First Choice in the future .I have been to many holidays in Spain and that is the first time I have been refused a late checkout and all inclusive ending at 12 PM .

I selected this hotel for a family holiday with my children, their partners and my grandchildren whose ages range form 9 months to 3 years old. This review is based on my experiences during a weeks holiday there. The hotel was very clean and situated in a quiet town. The beach was 5 minutes walk away and the train station was close to the beach. The rooms were a little on the small side especially for my children and their children, however they were serviced daily with beds made/changed, rubbish cleared and everywhere thoroughly cleaned. I was touched that one of the cleaners, noticed that I had got a blanket out of the cupboard as I had been cold one night and had taken the trouble to make the bed the next day with the blanket under the counterpane for me. The hotel itself was very clean and as I understand it we were in the part of the hotel that had recently been refurbished. As we were a group of 5 adults and 3 children, I was pleased to find that they had taken the trouble to put us in 3 rooms all on the same floor and the same corridor. A cot had also been put into each room, although we only required one in one room, but as we arrived at 2am it was helpful to find that there was one ready for us and it didn't matter which room each part of the family occupied. We had booked this hotel as we were told it was family friendly/orientated. However the children's club is for the over 3s and all of the children with us were 3 and under so there were no activities for them to do. We were also disappointed to find that there was no early evening entertainment that was children orientated which we had experienced in other hotels in other years. However this may just be because we went out of high season. The hotel was in a quiet area and we weren't disturbed by other people revelling into the night which was a big benefit with having young children with us. The train station was within 5 minutes walk and it was easy to get to neighbouring towns and only an hour from Barcelona. The hotel food was on the whole to a high standard although with being all inclusive it did become a bit same old by the end of the week. I am vegetarian and found it difficult to find enough that I could eat at times as a lot of the salads and veg dishes had meat mixed in with them. They did do theme nights with the food which was interesting and all the staff where very friendly and helpful and indeed a couple of them really went out of their way to be helpful. The pool was quite small for the size of the hotel but adequate. There is also a children's pool as well. There were plenty of sun loungers and we were always able to find enough for each of us when we wanted to be by the pool. The spa was nice with a sauna, steam room Jacuzzi and pool and was half price to those who are all inclusive. There was also the opportunity to book a treatment, however the lady only visited the hotel on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. As our last day was a Tuesday and we weren't leaving until the evening I decided I would like to book a reflexology treatment only to find the lady wasn't coming in that Tuesday which was disappointing. One thing to be aware of is that the All inclusive finishes at midday in the bar on your day of travel and for us after lunch in the restaurant. This was a bit of a pain as we had a night flight and so weren't leaving the hotel until after 10pm in the evening. You can ask for a late checkout and have to pay an additional 25 euros for this but the hotel aren't able to tell you until the day before you leave if they are able to do it for you. The overall holiday was an enjoyable, restful experience and I would be happy to go back to this hotel.

just back from 2 weeks in the stella &spa.their where 5 of us,the food was the finest we have enjoyed in over 40 hlidays abroad.the friendly staff could not do enough for you.we will be going back again without a doubt.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of May 2017.. arrived very early hours in the morning. Check in was quick, however in many previous hotels when we have arrived late, we've been given at least a drink but there was nothing here other than paying for drinks in the bar. As we were all inclusive and that whole day already wasted, at least a drink could have been offered! Especially as on leaving the all inclusive ended at 12 midday, so out of the 14 nights stayed, just the 12.5 were used by us all inclusive.. We normally go to Tunisia or Greece on holiday so mainland Spin was a first. It was very old fashioned in the sense of there was no need to 'dress up' on a night, most guests wore very very casual on a night, leaving us feeling quite overdressed on night time in Restuarant and bar. The pool area is quite quiet and beds are always available , no towels were being used to reserve beds (except for near the end of our holiday, guests were starting to reserve the beds!) Room- we stayed in the older part of the hotel that hadn't been refurbished, we had a pool view which was nice. However, the rooms were very Noisy, the first week we had next door neighbours fighting every night and was kept awake by this. Also you are not awaken by birds chirping in the morning, but my kids running in the corridors, guests banging on other guests doors and shouting in corridor. Maybe the hotel needs to look at the noise through walls. Room was basic but was cleaned every day, another downside of the room was not having enough plug sockets for everything, we only had 2 plug sockets and 1 was taken up by our mosquito plug. Restuarant- staff are very friendly, especially Caesar and Edgar they were lovely and worked very hard from in the morning with breakfast to the evening meal. There were 4 stations of food each with quite a variety of food- there was always something you could eat. The theme nights were nice but it gets very packed. Bar- again the staff were very nice, again Oscar worked very hard around the tables. Entertainment- something 6 days a week. The Parrot show was good and the jazz band on a Friday. The singer on Monday was not as great!! We would have to say Pineda de Mar is quiet so don't be looking for anything really going on as such.. market on a Friday was nice if you want some market style clothing and to see all the lovely fruit and veg. Beach is nice and quiet and cocktails and tapas were lovely in one of the bars on the beach. Train station is on the beach and has regular trains - we went into Barcelona on the train , took about an hour. Was a nice day out. We also went on the Catamaran and waterpark- both booked with Thomson. Catamaran was really good , it was a half day trip and was pirate theme for the kids. Just as a usual boat trip, stopped and you can jump off which was nice , few fish in the water. Drinks and BBQ food on there were nice and the staff excellent . Water park was all uphill. Some nice slides there. However, as we were leaving late we asked to keep our room on but as it was full, we was unable but used the shower room in the spa which was ok it was clean. We needed a relaxing holiday and this was, so we really enjoyed it.

This hotel is clean and our room was plenty large enough for 1 adult and 2 teenagers. Food was ok and you wouldn't go hungry, but nothing to write home about. Check in took a long time considering there weren't many of us. It was nearly 3am and the reception desk had no change and there was no where to get even a bottle of water. We had to walk to a local kebab shop. Not ideal when you've just arrived in a foreign country. The bar staff were lovely as were most of the employees there. The entertainment is very minimal. No music playing round the pool side. No inflatables allowed and no one comes round to let you know there's a game of football taking place on the beach (about a 5-10 minute stroll away). Evening entertainment was very basic, if at all. I spent most of my evenings sitting outside whilst my two teenage girls sat on the swings for want of something better to do. We did eventually meet some lovely people and this livened our holiday up, but I was overall really disappointed as I had expected so much more. If you want to chill by the pool all day and read a good book and then get an early night, this is the ideal hotel for you, but it's definitely not for teenagers and those of us who like to join in. Be careful if you have a late flight home because your all inclusive wrist bands run out after you've had dinner. We still have about another 6 hours to go and couldn't get a drink without paying. A bit naughty considering we turned up at 3.00am, so we didn't get a full 7 days.

our room was 219 front of the hotel nice room not that we are bothered not in it long enough check in was good had to wait an hour for room so we had a look around the hotel it was clean friendly and nice . there was always sunbeds avalible . the food was outstanding compliments to the chefs and staff . we stayed at a 4 star hotel in malgret Fergus mar and food was disguisting . this hotel should be a 4 or 5 star everybody in this hotel work hard and always polite friendly and liked a laugh would like to say thankyou for our stay and thankyou to friends we met at hotel that made our holiday they are lou,jamie,bob Brenda, and our dutch lady dolly
