My partner and myself arrived for a 10 night stay from 11th Sept-21st, we have never really been fussy about hotels so i think it's fair to say that you get what you pay for. Our room was cleaned every 2-3 days, cooking area was Ok, we had everything that was needed, beach and shops were only a short walk away with plenty of restaurants nearby, and off course the adjoining restaurant had a decent menu, wasn't expensive and guests were given 10% off. We also found the receptionists were quite helpful when needed, all in all I would recommend to anyone/couples who are not too fussy as long as you know that you get what you pay for
This hotel has a Small pool but is adequate. There's no entertainment for family members. The room itself is clean and tidy but has a very small balcony and decent bunk beds. Most of the reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. Jenson aged 7
Excellent location of hotel in Calella. Just metres away from local shops, bars and beach. Be aware of hidden charges at the hotel for tv and a/c usage. wifi is a bit hit and miss. Breakfast is OK although there are 2 menu's - For hotel stayers breakfast is basic and no option is given. For public members staff will provide a menu. Room a bit dated and could do with being modernised. Small rear pool for children. 45 minutes away from Barcelona.
3 adults (aged 23-25) stayed in self catering apartment 1st floor with balcony Hotel Location: Aparthotel Safari is located in a good spot in Calella. There are many supermarkets around which sell the basic essentials that you need for your stay here. There are a few bigger supermarkets down the road which are easily found. The main beach is a 5-10 minute walk away. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Calella old town is also a short walk away which is definately worth a visit to see some of the older buildings with character, again plenty of restaurants down the old town strip. Over the road from the hotel is a nightclub which stayed open until 6am most nights which obviously attracted alot of young drinkers with noise but it wasn't much of a problem to us. If you are a light sleeper try and get a room at the back of the building. There is also a bar over the road which had fab cocktails which were really good value! Hotel Reception: We arrived after 12am due to a mix up with our hire car. 24hour reception. Very warm welcome. Clean & bright, the staff were very friendly and helpful giving us a map and marking the supermarkets, train station etc for us. We did recieve an unexpected charge of 30euros because our room had a balcony. Air con was also not provided in our price of the holiday which is 5euros per day extra with a 10euro deposit for the controller. I did read about a tax that you have to pay when staying in Calella that cost us 9euros for the 6nights we were there so that was fine. Room 108: Very clean and bright, 1st floor, twin beds and a single sofa bed separated by a stud wall. Open plan kitchen, diner, living area and a private bathroom. Kitchen - 2 electric hobs, microwave, kettle, cutlery, pans, toaster, sink and fridge with mini freezer. We had to buy our own sponges and liquid. available in the shop next door. Living area - Bright and airy, dining table with 4 chairs, big shelving unit for clothes, balcony with sliding door, good curtains that made the room nice and dark, a large sofa that converterted into a single bed - firm but comfy. Twin bed area - one bed side table, beds are nice and firm but comfy Bathroom - Toilet, bidet, sink, mirror, bath & shower. 50L of hot water available which is enough for 3 showers. If you need more then you have to wait a little while for it to fill up. We got given 2 key cards for the door. Over all lovely room, extremely clean. Our bed sheets were changed 3 days into our stay and we recieved fresh towels every couple of days. Pool Area: Again, nice and clean. Pool has a jacuzzi function and a waterfall. Plenty of sun loungers! A dining area under a gazaebo which is linked to the reastaurant so you can eat. Pool isn't massive but for the size of the hotel it was fine for the amount of guests that actually used it. Good sun and partial shade all day. Hotels other facilities: There are large luggage lockers available for when you check out (10am). Our flight wasn't until 20:25 and we were able to use the pool all day after checking out. On the first floor there is a large room with sofas, tables and chairs also with a balcony that you are able to use. There are ladies and mens toilets & showers on the first floor that you can use after you check out - nice and clean. The restaurant is attached to the hotel and on arrival we got given a 10% off voucher. The do have a large variety of food there but we only used it once for a breakfast which was very nice. Free Wifi - code is in the reception Calella train station is a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel. We paid 9.70euro for a return ticket to barcelona and that took an hour to get there. Overall great holiday and very pleasent hotel. Would reccomend for small groups of friends, couples and families looking for a centrally located self catering hotel.
A lovely place to stay. Rooms have all been modernized and now all have air con. Beds and sofa beds are very comfy. No balcony in most rooms, but still lovely. Cleaned very well, bedding changed every 5 days and clean towels every 3 days. Pool is lovely, small, but plenty of sunbeds. Outside waiter service by the pool too from the restaurant next door. Free wifi too. Can't fault it. Only downside is no outside toilet by the pool, so have to keep going to the restaurant toilets. Will definitely consider staying again.
Hotel The hotel is clearly a few years old, they have maintained it as well as could be expected and it is also clean in the common areas shared by all patrons. The reception area had very helpful staff when it came to looking at things to do locally. That was in addition to the large amount of leaflets etc also on offer. Food There was a restaurant on site which we used a couple of times to satisfy a quick hunger. Menu was extensive and prices were reasonable. Facilities We didn't check out everything the hotel had but we did use the swimming pool on a daily basis as something to occupy the kids whilst deciding the days events. The pool is small and the area around equally so, perfect for a quick dip but not something you would want to swim lengths on. Staff Very helpful reception staff, room maids were equally as diligent. Towels and bedding changed often which always keeps me happy. Local Quite literally right opposite this place is a tonne of stuff to do. Crazy golf, ten pin bowling, soft play centre and trampoline park to name a few for the children. For young adults and the like the night life was equally as good, plenty of bars etc for drinks and good times. I was really surprised at how clean they kept the streets in Calella, trucks out daily emptying bins and sweeping the streets. There was also a good police presence which kept any unwanted things from happening. The local beaches are a 10 minute walk, they are really well kept with beautiful promenades running parallel to it. Parks, volleyball, football and exercise equipment to name but a few free activities along the beach front. All in all very happy with this family holiday - would use again
Everything is near these apartments so it's a great location, staff were lovely and the restaurant down stairs did lovely food and drinks to. The apartment had all you needed and was cleaned regularly. Beds were a little uncomfortable but the price to rent the apartments reflects that. All in all a great stay. No air con which was fine for us as we went in October so wasn't to warm but would imagine this being a problem in the height of summer.
Lovely apartments, everything is close by. The restaurant next door is definitely worth a visit, great food and 10% off as well.loads of bars and shops nearby. The beach is massive and lovely and clean. We will be going back soon. X
very clean and tidy apartments the staff were very helpful nothing was a problem the shops were within 2 mins to get milk tea coffee etc local cafes also close buy or you could really push the boat out and walk 5 mins to the beach and shopping market
Clean, basic and what you pay for. Kettle, microwave and double hob. Tv sound low and can't be turned up above 16. Fan to disperse air. The only downside is the club over the road, no music noise just the screams and yells of people leaving.
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
- Onsite dining
- Outdoor pool
