We stayed here for one night in August. We picked Calipolis mainly for its location, as it is right next to the gay portion of the beach, and is within spitting distance to the busy portion of town. We have stayed at a number of hotels in Sitges but never here, so we figured we would give it a try. The stay was okay, we were somewhat underwhelmed. In retrospect we’d probably have opted for what we know at the MiM (“Avenida Sofia” when we stayed there) next door. The room itself was very spacious but felt fairly bleak and dark. Granted, we did not reserve a room with a view, but given the price charged by the hotel, I am surprised at how basic and how minimalistic the room feels. The lighting was not great either, which contribute to the feel. The double bed was two single beds pushed together, which was not too comfortable. We were only staying for one night so did not think much of it, but I would not be too pleased if I was there for a more extended period of time. We did however appreciated the post checkout access to a shower room, which came in handy as our flight was not until later in the evening.
The Calipolis is perfectly located just by the beach. If choosing the sea view rooms you get a wonderful view over the sea and a large balcony. The rooms are in need of renovation, they do not feel very modern, especially not the bathrooms. Cleanliness could be a bit better. Sand was left at the floor and balcony. The staff in the reception are very helpful and friendly. Much better than our two previous visits. The breakfast buffet was really good! There is everything you could ask for, even cava and you could get eggs and omelettes cooked to order.
I paid a little extra for the beach view and it was worth it. Rooms were clean, but a little on the plain side, but the view more than made up for it. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. 5 min walk to all the Sitges shops and bars. Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice modern, clean hotel in a perfect location on the beach and very central. Just be aware that 'sea view with balcony' can be the a 'lateral view' over the apartments next door with a view over the sea if you stick your neck out. In fairness they offered to change us the next day.
We booked 2 nights. We got a room at the back side on 6th level. Bath room not clean for a 4 star hotel. Free towels for the beach are a big +. Free wifi too. View to the mountains was partly obstructed by the neighbour hotel. Friendly staff. Small swimming pool. Good prices at the pool bar. First night the electricity felt out after midnight in our room. My friend was already sleeping. I called reception. The technician came immediatly. We had to move to a room on the first level with view to a wall. I complained about it, but it was the only empty room. Possible, but not a customer delighted feeling in this expensive 4 stars hotel.
Hotel Calipolis is located in 2 min walking distance from the centre. Personal is very friendly and understand the needs of the guests. When we got a room and unpacked our things, we checked internet connection and it was not very good. We asked for another room and personal gave us new room with perfect internet connection. Maybe only the swimingpool is more pool than a swimingpool but bot a problem. Beach is in front of hotel. Breakfast- perfect, but it is served, self service, only until 11, what can be to early for some of guests. But, try to wake up and have a nice and good breakfast.
Our family including two teenagers spent four days here and enjoyed our visit. The pool is quite small but the beach is just opposite the hotel. Customers were mainly gay couples and families with children so the atmosphere was nice and peaceful. Staff at the reception was extremely helpful and called several companies when we wanted to rent a car. Our rooms on the seventh floor had nice big balconies with sun beds and sea view. Breakfast hours were good, from 7-11 and with plenty of options including local delicacies. The hotel restaurant had very good food.
Hotel Calipolis is located right in the centre of Sitges on the main promenade. The hotel offers all the amenities for a comfortable stay with modern and clean rooms, good wifi, friendly and helpful staff and a very good and plentiful buffet breakfast. Our room was on the 8th floor facing the sea and we could go out on the terrace and enjoy the splendid scenic views.
Firstly the good stuff. Great location very near the beach and the popular night spots yet reasonably quiet. Great pool and reasonably priced God and bar fare. The rooms are basic. Few extra touches and the mini bar was pricey. Ask for a sea view and you get a great balcony. If you are able to ask for a room ending in 28 you'll have two sun beds in addition to the table and two chairs. They advertise either sea or mountain views. Unsurprisingly they don't disclose the view option of an inner alley and other people's walls and windows. The bar staff were friendly but the receipt team were a mixed bag. The weekend team were obliging and helpful. As the working week started the level of service declined. By the Wednesday they were unhelpful to the point of rude and the chief offender appeared to be the guy in charge. Perhaps his cat had died. Breakfast was plentiful and unhurried. In short - 4 stars for location and bar staff. A strong 3 for sea view room and weekend reception team. But 1 point for Mr Go Away on reception.
