My 4th trip to Sitges and my 4th stay at the Calipolis. Its great to see that money is being invested in the hotel and our room on the 5th floor has recently been redecorated to a very high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always go out of their way to make it a great stay. The breakfast buffet is as amazing as ever. There is always a great selection to choose from, even if you leave it to the last minute to go down. Already planning our return visit for 2018.
I've had the pleasure of staying here several times for work and cannot recommend it enough. The hotel is directly opposite the beach and a few minutes walk away from the main restaurant / bar areas. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are always spotless. Breakfast is good with a wide ranges of cooked / cold / fresh items available.
Stayed recently. Front desk staff very good. Did not see cleaning staff but hotel very clean as was our room. We were on the 7th floor and had fantastic views of the beach which is directly in front of the hotel. Unfortunately our bathroom had very smelly drains which remained the position throughout our stay. Breakfast is varied but the food is not exactly hot and we have had better.Good to have a kettle in the room but no english tea only herbal, so take your own tea bags. We would stay again as you cannot beat the location or the view.
The suite was recently redone to a modest standard, with a great sea view. I could not overlook the black water smell in the lobby or the hen party they had going down there. The elevators did not work and we had to climb up and down 5 floors several times. This is the only beachfront hotel that feels like a normal big hotel but it ends there. The general manager took steps to remedy the disappointment but I will not stay again.
We have just return from a three night stay at the Calipolis hotel. It has good and bad points. The good - Excellent location, clean, lovely junior suite with fabulous views. Breakfast restaurant lovely. Comfortable beds The ok - The lounge area is uninviting, very bright and rarely used and not somewhere you want to sit and enjoy a drink. It also has a TV which seems to have football on all the time. The outside bar and seating area is ok but again lacks atmosphere and has a cold heartless feel. The pool is very small. The bad - The breakfast is very varied but more often than not luke warm or cold. There was a kettle in the room but only herbal teas. No coffee, English breakfast tea or milk. The maid was a unfriendly. No mirror above the dressing table. Restaurant not open at night and outside bar area not lit sufficiently. To summarize, a standard modern hotel in a good location but more of a business hotel. I wont be returning as I like more character so I have already booked somewhere else for May next year.
I asked for a suite room on the top floor with a view. 926 fit the description and checked all my boxes. The room was spacious and the staff were fantastic. Room was cleaned to perfection every day. I especially loved the view of the beach and the western sunset view added ambience each night. I especially liked the sunshades that you could lower on the balcony to keep the sun from heating up the room. Had breakfast (buffet) each morning and it had everything you could want. I loved the fact that it was right across the street from the beach where you could relax. If you wanted you could also relax by their own private pool. The hotel provides towels which is a great touch. This is must stay when in Sitges.
My sister and i stayed here in june 2017. Amazing location. The beach is a 2 minute walk across the road. We had a gorgeous sea view with our own terrace. Full length lounge chairs as well as a table and chairs. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom was large. The room had lots of table top space for your things. You can get a free beach towel at the front desk every day. I can't wait to go back.
This was our first visit to Spain and we knew we wanted to see Barcelona but also get some beach time. Hotel Calipolis was perfect for what we wanted. It is literally right across the road from the beach. It was also easy to walk around the town of Sitges which has some great restaurants to enjoy. It wasn't a bad walk to the train station either. We walked to the station and took the train into Barcelona twice. Also, since we don't speak Spanish, it was great that all the nice folks at the hotel reception desk spoke very good English. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the main street and the beach and the street noise wasn't bad at all. Too much to keep the sliding door open while sleeping, but no problem with the door closed. The room was pretty big as was the bathroom and both were nicely furnished. We thought the beds were a bit hard, but it wasn't a big problem. We still managed to get a good night's sleep every night. There were only a couple of negatives: our shower didn't drain well, our safe didn't work at all and the walls are quite thin so we could hear pretty much everything from our neighboring rooms. I think the guys next door REALLY enjoyed their vacation (and each other) based on what my husband heard one night. :-) Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely come back to Stiges and Hotel Calipolis again.
My husband and I stayed here for a week during the Sitges Bear Week. This was our fourth time to visit Sitges and this was by far the nicest place that we`ve stayed. It is conveniently located across the street form our favorite beach. If you need a break from the beach, there's a nice (although small) pool to relax at. Dinner at the restraunt was a good value and the paella was excellent. The room is spacious, clean, with excellent air conditioning. The highlight for us was to be able to sit out on the terrace and have a bottle of cava from room service. Thank you to the very friendly front desk staff and the excellent jose keeping services! When we visit Sitges next, Calipolis will definitely be our choice of place to stay.
Good location and decent rooms make the Calipolis a good option to use for when you visit Sitges. Just across from the beach walk and not far from a lot of things in this quaint little town. Would recommend a room with a sea view, of course.
