I have been here about 3 times , pool isn't great but just across the road from the beach, I like the location and the breakfast sets you up for the day . I always upgrade to the sea view, as it is a nice place to sit at dusk and watch the town come to life
Hotel Calipolis is very tired and there is a very poor service. First there is a terrible smell in the bar, in front of the restaurant and in some of the rooms. The pool is more like a bath than a pool even though it seems bigger in pictures from the hotel site. The brekfast is not so good and in whole this is more a 3 star hotel than 4 star.
Nice hotel to stay, 1 min away from the beach. Room quite modern with nice sea view. Food was ok, would have expected a bit more seafood for lunch or breakfast... Otherwise, I gave it a 3* due to the condition of the bathroom, which will need a bit of improvement.
This is the place, the Hotel sits on the Sea front with a brilliant Resurant and Tapas Bar. The Tapas selection is good. Try the Chicken samosa. Wow. Staff are more than helpful and most speak English if required. Resurant Menu and Wine list as sure will meet with approval if you try them.
We stayed as part of a large party and generally everything was good. the staff are fantastic and if you take the trouble to talk to them they cant do enough for you. we struggled a bit with the selection of bar food and when we asked about potato fries it was suggested that this was not what we wanted and 'leave it to us'. Well what came was the best chips I have had fro a long time and the order was repeated several times!! We had a suite with a balcony overlooking the beach. the room was clean but lacked a few things. there was a kettle but only herbal teas and no coffee - very odd . the bathroom, while big and on the face of it luxurious, actually lacked something. The swimming pool is not as big as it looks in the pictures - in fact it could be described as a pond. The view was amazing and we sat watching the very interesting people on the promenade. There is a road between the hotel and the beach which is quite busy, but pedestrians seem to rule!
My 4th trip to Sitges and my 4th stay at the Calipolis. Its great to see that money is being invested in the hotel and our room on the 5th floor has recently been redecorated to a very high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always go out of their way to make it a great stay. The breakfast buffet is as amazing as ever. There is always a great selection to choose from, even if you leave it to the last minute to go down. Already planning our return visit for 2018.
I've had the pleasure of staying here several times for work and cannot recommend it enough. The hotel is directly opposite the beach and a few minutes walk away from the main restaurant / bar areas. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are always spotless. Breakfast is good with a wide ranges of cooked / cold / fresh items available.
Stayed recently. Front desk staff very good. Did not see cleaning staff but hotel very clean as was our room. We were on the 7th floor and had fantastic views of the beach which is directly in front of the hotel. Unfortunately our bathroom had very smelly drains which remained the position throughout our stay. Breakfast is varied but the food is not exactly hot and we have had better.Good to have a kettle in the room but no english tea only herbal, so take your own tea bags. We would stay again as you cannot beat the location or the view.
The suite was recently redone to a modest standard, with a great sea view. I could not overlook the black water smell in the lobby or the hen party they had going down there. The elevators did not work and we had to climb up and down 5 floors several times. This is the only beachfront hotel that feels like a normal big hotel but it ends there. The general manager took steps to remedy the disappointment but I will not stay again.
We have just return from a three night stay at the Calipolis hotel. It has good and bad points. The good - Excellent location, clean, lovely junior suite with fabulous views. Breakfast restaurant lovely. Comfortable beds The ok - The lounge area is uninviting, very bright and rarely used and not somewhere you want to sit and enjoy a drink. It also has a TV which seems to have football on all the time. The outside bar and seating area is ok but again lacks atmosphere and has a cold heartless feel. The pool is very small. The bad - The breakfast is very varied but more often than not luke warm or cold. There was a kettle in the room but only herbal teas. No coffee, English breakfast tea or milk. The maid was a unfriendly. No mirror above the dressing table. Restaurant not open at night and outside bar area not lit sufficiently. To summarize, a standard modern hotel in a good location but more of a business hotel. I wont be returning as I like more character so I have already booked somewhere else for May next year.
