Stayed here for a few days , food was very good, the hotel was beautifully clean, nice decor, the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble , well positioned close to beach and town area wish I could have stayed longer .

We returned to Calella after 14 years,we picked this hotel because it offered underground car parking (price 10 € per night). We found out that the garage is located more than 200 m. from the hotel. Driving in and out from the garage was quite difficult and the parking places are were very narrow. If your car is longer than 4 m. you have no chance to go out unscratched.Be aware.!!!! We had an unpleasant surprise at check in .We found out that we were charged for our whole stay 2 days before arrival, even though we had confirmation from the booking.com that all payments are to be made at the property during our stay. Our stay costed more than we intended ,because we used another currency card while making the booking and currency conversation was unfavorable. The rooms were quite decent only the bathtub was chipped .The balcony was quite small and you could be overlooked by the other guests. Breakfast was tasty with good choice. The best thing about this hotel is it's location close to the beach.

A four star hotel that barely reach that level. Nice reception area, but the rooms are very basic. We had to change room during the stay due to bad smell from the drains. No protests but we had to do the work ourselves. We had a feeling that this was not the first time... The breakfast is absolutely ok, but the breakfast room is large and reminds me of the lunch room at school... They had a garage but located in another hotel a five minutes walk away. But not far from the beach and town centre. Friendly reception service. Price is reasonable - and you get what you pay for...

We stayed 4 nights sept 24th-28th sept 2017. Hotel is really lovely, clean and tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Both breakfast and evening meal were of high quality and delicious- staff were very friendly and efficient. The dining area was very calm and quiet and spotlessly clean. Staff on reception were exceptional - again efficient and friendly and very helpful. Rooms cleaned every day also to a high standard and maids very friendly and non-intrusive. Location is excellent for beach, shops and bars with easy access to both bus stops and the station. I booked an hour in the wellness spa on a cloudy morning for 9euros and it was bliss and well worth the money (I was the only one in there) so be sure to check this when booking because I can imagine my experience would have been less blissful if full! The negatives..... walls between room are very thin - I had an average of 5hrs sleep per night due to noises from nearby rooms both morn and eve, and have returned home a little tired. The bar in the evening was only manned by one man and I found him very unfriendly!...he definitely let his side down. A road cleaner passes by the hotel at 7.00ish every morning and is very noisy. I would say that the positives out-way the few negatives but would advise ear plugs to get a decent nights sleep - if you do this then you will have a perfect holiday.

I spent 10 relaxing days in this hotel from 10 to 20 September 2017 .it is elegant and very clean! Very close to the Sea and to the center of Calella. At the reception they are professional and helpful. thanks a lot to everyone, expecially to Mrs Tania who was wonderful!! Patrizia Padovani

As we were travelling through Calella on our transfer we started to get a bit nervous as many of the 4 star hotels looked quite scruffy. Luckily this was not the case with Hotel Bernat II. This hotel has a smart exterior and a really beautiful interior with marble flooring and a big chandelier and piano. Our room was the best I have stayed in abroad, modern looking with plenty of space. The air con could have been a bit colder at times, this wasn't too much of an issue as we went in mid September but I imagine it may be during hotter times. The shower was lovely and the room was always cleaned well by the maids. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. There was plenty of sunbeds availble by the pool and they had no problem with you eating or drinking your own food. The bar had a nice buzzy atmosphere in the evenings and so was a nice spot to get a drink. Location wise this hotel is ideal, a short walk from the beach and plenty of restaurants and shops. There is also a supermarket close by which had a nice variety of stock. Overall a really enjoyable stay in Hotel Bernat II.

Stayed at the Bernat ll from 16-21 Sept. We actually cut short our visit by 2 days as we were that disappointed with our experience. The hotel is advertised as a 4*, however I would rate it at best a 2*. The general condition of the hotel is very tired, the photographs on the site are misleading. The poolside is small, rooms very small, we were in a corner room, which was overlooked by many balconies. The main photograph (Bahari Club) is in fact a beach bar a few hundred yards away on the beach with nothing else around it. We found some of the staff quite rude in the dining area as well as reception. When we explained we were leaving 2 days early neither of the receptionists asked if things were OK, and even tried to get us to pay for the safe deposit twice as they had no record of us paying! I don't know how we managed to get the safe key in the first place! When my wife returned with the invoice slip there was no apology from either of them! Calella as a place is without doubt the poorest resort I have been to in 30 years. Scruffy, dirty and dated. We thought as the hotel was so disappointing we would eat out rather than suffer the hotel food every night, but to our amazement there were literally no decent places to eat (at least we didn't find one). On a positive we went to Tossa de Mar for an outing and it was really pretty, quaint, with plenty of nice restaurants. All in all I couldn't recommend anything good about Calella whatsoever!

Nice hotel perfect for us (couple) but the families with young kids seemed happy too. Positives for me were the 50m pool 5 minute walk away which is free for guests. I used it everyday and always had a whole lane to myself. The spa was also very relaxing - the mist shower after a nice sauna / steam was great. Breakfast buffet was good and varied too. I can't comment on the lunch / dinner as we were only B&B. Staff also really nice - they sorted picnic boxes as we left before breakfast on our last day. I did miss a gym especially when the weather was bad. Just a suggestion but could management not allow guests use the gym in the Crol Centre free of charge (the 50m pool is free for guests)? The aircon, which is regulated by the temperature outside, was a little frustrating and I found it wasn't cool enough on the more humid days (which weren't many tbh).

Stopped at this hotel for a glass of wine ..... appalling place ...looks nice ....mainly Spanish guests... so treated like 2nd class citizens ...husband was ordering drinks from the waiter...spanish guy made waiter stop serving us so he could be served... how rude... when husband challenged waiter ...suprisingly he said he couldn't understand English. Very poor...made to feel very uncomfortable.... been holidaying in Spain for more than 20 years ..shocked. Noticed that in Callela town ...english folk not treated well.... Will not be returning to Spain.

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing 10 day holiday and I must say we had a great time. Well located for shops, supermarkets and activities and just 5 mins to the lovely beach. There were always loads of sun beds around the pool and always plenty of room for our 15 year old and 7 year old to swim and play. We were lucky enough to have a 3rd floor room overlooking the pool with a partial sea view and sunny balcony. The room was always clean and tidy and refurbished to a good standard just lacking slightly in storage for 4 people but no worries living out of cases when everything else so good. We went full board and were surprised by the abundance and variety of fresh food at mealtimes and drinks were comparable prices to other restaurants in the area. The hotel offered discounted activities in the mornings at the beach and we went on the speedboat and enjoyed free kayaking. The old town is just 5 mins away and lovely to wander round in the evening. Not much entertainment in the evening but we didn't go for that. All the staff nice, friendly and helpful and ensured our holiday went smoothly. Well worth the price we paid and would return. Thank you everyone at Bernat 2.
