Stayed with a large group for a training camp during the break. The hotel is very close to multiple supermarkets, the beach and the 50m pool. The restaurant has a decent buffet that was good to feed a large group of 20+ people all three meals. A little far from the train station, but manageable to get there on foot, 20-25min walk. Only complaint was the group was given the un-renovated rooms, but I'm sure if you booked on your own you would get one of the newer rooms.

Lovely hotel. 5 minute walk to training center, beach and great local shopping district with 1 km of shops, cafes ect... across the street is a grocery store, good to pick up snacks for the room. Small fridge in each room. very nice and accommodating staff. Beds very comfortable and nice sized rooms. Buffet offers a wide variety of foods. We did the buffet for all 3 meals. Nice pool area, although this time of year is not peak season only around 10 to 18 degrees C. Very clean property. Shops open at 9 then close form 2 to 5 and stay open until 830 or 9.

Stayed for one night with business colleagues in January 2018 (as there were few hotels open in the area). We were supried by a good looking, refurbished building, public rooms and bedrooms. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient. My room was rather cold at night, and when I turned on the heating (air) it was very noisey. My bed was also rather hard for my liking. The breakfast buffet was very good, with both hot and cold items. All in all a pretty good stay. Oh and a nice price 36,00€!

Nice clean hotel..lobby/reception area very clean..dining area can get noisy with children but for the most part it was calm..food amazing so much choice, would point out that ALL meals are tepid, it seems the Spanish do not eat their meals HOT, they say the colder it is the more you can taste it!!, This takes a bit of getting used to.. Weather was sunny & fairly warm for january, a lot hotter than S.E.England!..evenings could be cold so would advise a jacket or thick cardigan/fleece.. Not all shops open, their season starts in March, but enough open for little gifts etc.. Also no buses running so either you walk or get a taxi if going long distances..taxi will cost 7euro one way.. The walks in Calella are beautiful, it's a lovely town with beautiful Spanish/Catalan architecture, the church in the town centre worth a visit..most of the walks are on the flat..Would recommend a visit to Barcelona, you can get a train from Calella station, 10 euros return each person it takes an hour to get there, lovely journey the train runs alongside the coast you get some wonderful views..The Sagada Famili is a must do visit, so beautiful both inside & out, whilst there try to go on a tour bus which takes you to the north & the south of the city, passing many wonderful places, you are given earphones to plug into a talking guide just choose the language that applies to you...It would take at least a day if not more to see all of Barcelona this way you get all the main attractions as well as a running commentary on what you are looking at well worth the 25 euros each which lasts all day, you can also get off to walk around a particular attraction, get a drink something to eat then get back on because the tour buses run every 15minutes from designated stops, either red for the south of Barcelona or blue for the north side. Would definitely recommend Calella as a holiday spot but would say go a little later in the year..The hotel has no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so would advise you to bring your own..there are several mini supermarkets very near to the hotel that sell everything you would need.

Stayed here for a few days , food was very good, the hotel was beautifully clean, nice decor, the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble , well positioned close to beach and town area wish I could have stayed longer .

We returned to Calella after 14 years,we picked this hotel because it offered underground car parking (price 10 € per night). We found out that the garage is located more than 200 m. from the hotel. Driving in and out from the garage was quite difficult and the parking places are were very narrow. If your car is longer than 4 m. you have no chance to go out unscratched.Be aware.!!!! We had an unpleasant surprise at check in .We found out that we were charged for our whole stay 2 days before arrival, even though we had confirmation from the booking.com that all payments are to be made at the property during our stay. Our stay costed more than we intended ,because we used another currency card while making the booking and currency conversation was unfavorable. The rooms were quite decent only the bathtub was chipped .The balcony was quite small and you could be overlooked by the other guests. Breakfast was tasty with good choice. The best thing about this hotel is it's location close to the beach.

A four star hotel that barely reach that level. Nice reception area, but the rooms are very basic. We had to change room during the stay due to bad smell from the drains. No protests but we had to do the work ourselves. We had a feeling that this was not the first time... The breakfast is absolutely ok, but the breakfast room is large and reminds me of the lunch room at school... They had a garage but located in another hotel a five minutes walk away. But not far from the beach and town centre. Friendly reception service. Price is reasonable - and you get what you pay for...

We stayed 4 nights sept 24th-28th sept 2017. Hotel is really lovely, clean and tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Both breakfast and evening meal were of high quality and delicious- staff were very friendly and efficient. The dining area was very calm and quiet and spotlessly clean. Staff on reception were exceptional - again efficient and friendly and very helpful. Rooms cleaned every day also to a high standard and maids very friendly and non-intrusive. Location is excellent for beach, shops and bars with easy access to both bus stops and the station. I booked an hour in the wellness spa on a cloudy morning for 9euros and it was bliss and well worth the money (I was the only one in there) so be sure to check this when booking because I can imagine my experience would have been less blissful if full! The negatives..... walls between room are very thin - I had an average of 5hrs sleep per night due to noises from nearby rooms both morn and eve, and have returned home a little tired. The bar in the evening was only manned by one man and I found him very unfriendly!...he definitely let his side down. A road cleaner passes by the hotel at 7.00ish every morning and is very noisy. I would say that the positives out-way the few negatives but would advise ear plugs to get a decent nights sleep - if you do this then you will have a perfect holiday.

I spent 10 relaxing days in this hotel from 10 to 20 September 2017 .it is elegant and very clean! Very close to the Sea and to the center of Calella. At the reception they are professional and helpful. thanks a lot to everyone, expecially to Mrs Tania who was wonderful!! Patrizia Padovani

As we were travelling through Calella on our transfer we started to get a bit nervous as many of the 4 star hotels looked quite scruffy. Luckily this was not the case with Hotel Bernat II. This hotel has a smart exterior and a really beautiful interior with marble flooring and a big chandelier and piano. Our room was the best I have stayed in abroad, modern looking with plenty of space. The air con could have been a bit colder at times, this wasn't too much of an issue as we went in mid September but I imagine it may be during hotter times. The shower was lovely and the room was always cleaned well by the maids. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. There was plenty of sunbeds availble by the pool and they had no problem with you eating or drinking your own food. The bar had a nice buzzy atmosphere in the evenings and so was a nice spot to get a drink. Location wise this hotel is ideal, a short walk from the beach and plenty of restaurants and shops. There is also a supermarket close by which had a nice variety of stock. Overall a really enjoyable stay in Hotel Bernat II.
