we have been going down to Charlotte Motor Speedway for about 8 years now and having found this hotel a few years ago, it was perfect back then. this past trip over this past weekend, we had the worst experience ever here!! we asked for our normal room that we always try to get just with the ease of my wheelchair - that was fine, no problem. we walked into the "non-smoking" room and it smelled like someone smoked 5 packs of cigarettes in there. when we turned on the vent, it smelled worst. the bathroom smelled like sewer and cigarettes. now, i have asthma and yes, my mom does smoke but she goes outside all the time and she even noticed how bad it was in the room. the lady at the front desk when my mom went to checkout and she mentioned it to her all she said was "well you smoke don't you??!" and my mom said "that's not the point when my daughter is the one that has trouble with it." we felt disrespected and felt like as returning patrons to this hotel that it was very rude and ignorant to treat guests that travel 7 hours from home like that. the hotel looks remodeled compared to years past but it seems like clients are ruining it for the hotel and the hotel doesn't care. we asked for fresh towels and the laundry lady couldn't understand english even with the simple fact of asking for towels. furthermore, this hotel has lost our business and we will not be returning for years to come in the future!! great location but horrible experience!!

The motel was reasonably priced, quiet and clean. Night staff was less than welcoming but morning staff was a delight. We expected that our room - facing the front and right next to the lobby would be loud. Turned out we heard nothing from the parking lot or lobby. Continental breakfast was good but very limited - bread products, 2 cereals but no yogurt or fruit options beyond orange juice. Biggest complaint - with today's technology - is a lack of electrical outlets in the room. There was no outlet anywhere near the work desk to recharge electronics. Good thing that I pack a 12 foot extention cord with my toiletries.

Dirty room, obviously not cleaned. We found a glass crack pipe on the floor (behind chair), a small plastic bag with white residue and a black sunglasses case. There was also a bag over the smoke detector. I told the girl at the front desk & she said she would look into it. I highly doubt it by her reaction. There were cigarette holes in the bedspread and holes in the blanket.

At check-in front desk must of had a bad day. She was very rude. Get to the room hole in one of the comforters, carpet need replacing, and the shower need cleaning. Booked a roll away bed had to go get it. Blanket on it had holes. THE POOL WAS THE ONLY NICE THING. Late that night the AC unit froze up and was cutting on and off every 20 mins. The phone would ring the front desk. Went down next morning to get coffee and muffins at 9:05. Got coffee and was told we closed breakfast at 9. Went ahead grabbed 3 muffins and was told by the clerk that they had 2 signs that said breakfast closed at 9. I thank her then told her I was a customer not one of her kids. Went to check out at 10:45 and the same clerk was the one to check me out. Lady in front of me said she was being double billed, she went out to get her mother. I guess I made the clerk mad early at breakfast when I was checking out I had to ask myself how was my stay, and I answered I could not wait to do the review. Boy! Did I get a look. Then she was having me to sign for room charges which the room was prepaid. She said it is billing to my Visa. I let her know it was prepaid that I would refuse charges if they tried to bill me again. Then the lady's mom come up to the counter. I went outside and spoke to her daughter. She said that they were trying to bill her double. Asked her to call Choice and let them know that I was. I drove around to let another room that was with us what was going on. Later on that morning at the tournament I found out that he had the same problems checking out. Grant the next time I'm in the area I will stay some where else.

Except for two employees at this location the service was absolutely terrible. Housekeeping Blatantly ignored Do not disturb signs on the door no less than 5 times during my two week stay. Complained to front desk and housekeeping tried to say they only knocked on the door. Even after complaining the very next day Housekeeping still entered the room with the DND sign on the door yet again. Took almost 30 minutes to check in at 2 A.m. because of the reservation teams mistake. Tried to make me pay for two rooms because of this mistake. The person in the room next to mine was consistently loud both with the tv and and yelling constantly. Unfortunately the two good employees were not enough to make up for the rest of the stay. Unfortunately while I do love the choice chain of hotels I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The service and experience was one of the worst of my life.

It had clean and comfortable rooms nothing fancy. The price was great. Just stayed the one night on our way for our epic road to the New England states. If in the area again would definitely stay there. It was on highway 77 and close to good places to eat.

Decided to go antiquing in Mooresville and get a room and go to ZMAX Dragstrip the next day. Rooms all booked found this place. Told it was last room. Looked clean, but our no smoking room reeked of weed. The TV didn't work. Called front desk and she gave us another room much better!

I am surprised that this rat trap has not been kicked out of the Choice hotel chain. It is an embarrassment. It is extreme!y filthy, outdated, dangerous, and smelly. It had an old tube television that was from the nineties which most of the cable channels were snowy. The bath stunk. The garbage was not collected daily. The breakfast did not include individually wrapped items and since the place was so dirty, we did not dare eat anything. The staff was extremely friendly though. I expect this place has its share of homeless drug users. There were many people living here indefinitely. Unfortunately this hotel is run by immigrants and immigrants don't have the best reputation for running a clean, updated hotel.

After driving for 14hrs, all I and my companions wanted to do was sleep. We walk into the motel and try to book but they were going to charge us 92$ when we had actually paid 55$ the week previous. So we were told to book it online. Unfortunately, in my sleepy daze, I booked for 2 weeks in advance. So we returned and explained the situation and were told there was nothing they could do; we would have to pay again...the full price even though it was cheaper online. We called the online booking company and explained the situation and she kindly helped us out (Hotels.com). She called Econo Lodge right then and there but the representative refused to help us out at all. After all this, we finally decided to just pay the money and deal with it later as it had already been an hour and a half of this. I paid in cash and was given all 1$ bills in change out of spite! She then said that if I had asked her to "honor" the online price she would of had to...Was my not telling her that I wanted a cheaper price and that I found one online not sufficient?! We stayed and then we left. 3 days later, I look at my credit card statement...I was charged AGAIN for that stay. So now I have to deal with getting my card credited even though I had paid cash on the spot. Once again, when I call Econo Lodge, they're unwavering in their desire to steal my money and make whatever stay I have, the absolute worst. I have never been treated so poorly and rudely and I can assure you every person I talk to will not be staying at Econo Lodge ever again. Needless to say, after countless hours calling an email Econo Lodge and Choice Hotels (the franchiser), I was not refunded. Take my advice and never stay at Econo Lodge.

When initially walking into room, it appeared to be clean. When using the bathroom, noticed broken and damaged tiles behind the toilet and black mold in the corners. Compounding this was the discovery of black/green mold under the bath mat in the tub. Upon arrival, I was prepared to overlook the rudeness of the desk clerk but am unable to overlook the lack of cleanliness and maintenance of the room.
