Spent €180 here on a Saturday night for bed and brekki ; the hotel itself is fine ; it’s walking distance to the town . The breakfast was just terrible , for €180 I was expecting a lot more . The room is ok ; done quite nice and the hotel is near the water but I don’t think value for money was good. We didn’t eat here and if it’s anything to go on by breakfast I wouldn’t !
My friends and I decided to have a drink here after lunch. The exterior was quite inviting and modern. We entered the bar/restaurant and found it clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The view to the marina was stunning. Being a Guinness drinker, that's what I opted to drink. It was good! Pleasant, young staff. A good experience except for a minor thing. A lady, I believed to be manager here called Alla, was focused on something else completely when I ordered a drink. I paid her, she handed my friend my Guinness .Not looking at either if us in the eye, or saying thank you, simply, " your change".. which she positioned on the bar in front of my friend. There were four tables occupied out of 24. Disregarding this, it was a very pleasant experience. I'll come back.
Check in and room was not ready which I do not have an issue with On check in we were told that bags would be checked in to room - At €160 for the room I felt that was not excellent service The hotel has been refurbished but the lack of ventilation in the room was poor despite heating being off
We visit Kinsale most years for the jazz festival and we've stayed in quite a few of the guesthouses in the town and also tried Acton's. This was our first year in the Trident and we just loved it! Clean, bright and very comfortable. We went for an executive room and it was really spacious and had a fabulous view of the harbour. From now on this will be our first choice!
Stayed here in October. The hotel itself is beautifully done. Stayed in an executive harbour view double room. The room was very clean, decorated beautifully. The bathroom was massive. Large shower and bath. The breakfast the next morning was gorgeous. Very good buffet selection and a great selection of hot cooked breakfast also. It’s only a short walk from the main town centre. Stunning views across the harbour from the room and the hotel. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a super hotel, rooms overlook the harbour which provides a beautiful early morning and late evening view. Rooms are very well appointed great beds furnishings and bathroom, walk in shower was great. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. Wharf bar is ideal for drinks and meals although lots of choice in Kinsale. Nothing not to like highly recommend.
Stayed here two nights and found the hotel to be delightful. The staff were very helpful and the location is great. It is on the water and has a very nice view. Able to walk anywhere in town. Breakfast was very good!
We found this hotel to be clean and friendly. We arrived with a family of eight (four rooms) and they made the check in process seamless. All rooms were spacious, and clean. We had a drink in the hotel bar. A very pleasant stay. I wish we could have stayed longer in Kisale...a great little town!
My husband and I visited in Spring 2015 and had a lovely meal. The waiter recommended the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I never heard of it, but the description sounded wonderful. It did not disappoint. It was the best cake I've had in my life. We returned to Ireland in Autumn 2017 and on my first day went directly to The Wharf Tavern and I ate what I'd waited over two years to taste again. Sticky Toffee Pudding. Still the best ever. Worth the wait.
Chose this hotel for our wedding, we kept the number of guests quite low but that didn't stop the staff from putting every effort into ensuring we enjoyed our day. The little touches made all the difference & everything ran very smoothly. Every manager I met with was very accommodating & every staff member was very pleasant. The rooms were beautiful & the little loveheart chocolates were a lovely idea. The views are amazing and the breakfast has a good selection on offer. Couldn't fault a thing. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
