Spent a night in this hotel recently and only wish it could have been a longer visit. It’s one of the best run hotels I’ve ever been in. Check in was friendly and efficient, decor in the hotel, including our room, was really lovely. Breakfast was way better than average. There was a great selection of cold meats, fruit, cheese etc which were self service but the hot breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and really good. Our room had everything we could possibly want, nice toiletries, still and sparkling water, a really good tv and great Wi-Fi. There was even a hairdryer which wasn’t attached to anything!! I highly recommend the Trident and hope to return some time. Well done to all the staff.
Beyond the meticulously maintained rooms and excellent free breakfast, this hotel has the best showers and free internet I’ve encountered in years of business travel. The shower is hot within seconds of turning on the water - no exaggeration. You turn in on and by the time you step in, it’s steaming. Free WiFi is in the 30-40 Mb/s range, which is faster than most homes’ internet in the States. If I ever come back here, there’s nowhere else I’d stay.
The hotel is facing the pier and sail boats in Kinsale. A beautiful location. It's a very very short walk into the downtown area. We traveled with our 6 1/2 year old and there was an adorable playground super close to the hotel. The playground is next to the Fishy Fishy Cafe (highly recommend). The trident hotel's beds are so comfortable. The rooms are all brand new and clean. The products in the bathroom are great. The shower pressure is amazing. After traveling all day it felt great to have a nice hot shower in a beautiful room. The windows open too. We slept with the windows open. In the morning you could hear the birds, seagulls over the water. Very peaceful. The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and fresh. Again, this hotel is at the end of the town so you need to walk into town. Not far....and it's a great town. The shops and pubs are just lovely. I highly recommend staying at The Trident. We took a taxi from the hotel to Charles Fort and we walked home from the fort. We took the Scilly walk home. Beautiful! I highly recommend doing both the Fort and the Scilly Walk. We ate at the The White House, Fishy Fishy Cafe and Blue Haven Cafe. We really want to visit Kinsale again and stay longer than two days. There is a lot to do in this amazing adorable town. We were touring here during low season so it was easy to get around. During busy season I heard it's well is busy. So, make sure you have dinner reservations and start your touring early etc... The Trident Hotel was just lovely! Great service and great clean rooms. We had a junior suite with a sofa bed pull out for our 6 1/2 year old.
We stayed here recently for 3 nights. This hotel is situated at the end of the town facing out on the water. The view of the boats coming in and out from the huge window in our room kept us entertained. From the moment we arrived till checkout we had a lovely stay and have no negative comments. The staff at front desk were very friendly and our room was ready when we arrived before usual check in. The food in the Wharf is excellent so we ate there on the 3 nights. The view from our table was fab and we could watch the seals. Breakfast was lovely in the Pierhouse on 1st floor. Plenty of choice and coffee was hot. The manager came around to greet all the guests at breakfast which I always think is a nice touch. We stayed in 208. It was a beautifully decorated large room and it was cleaned early each day. I wished on our last day we could have stayed a few days longer. Well done Trident Kinsale. It was ten out of ten. 😁
Stayed here this weekend. On arrival on Friday afternoon there were three ladies behind check in desk but only one checking people in so a queue formed and I was surprised to get to checkin only to have the lady checking us in talking to the guy behind me about his request. The welcome in was not friendly or welcoming in any way. However the man on reception late at night was the total opposite being very friendly when we had a question as was Aisling who checked us out. So past that got to the room and it was beautiful. Spacious, clean, well appointed with a fantastic view. Rooms also very quiet one of the few places we have stayed where we experienced no door banging or noise from cleaners early in the morning or other guests. Room cleaning was excellent also. Beds and pillows very comfortable and a nice touch leaving fresh bottled water in room. Bathroom great too we had a bath and a shower so all very spacious. Breakfast really good with plenty of choice and dining room staff very helpful, friendly and professional. The bar was quiet but nice to stop for a drink or two, staff efficient but I would not say friendly. Hotel location was great few minutes walk into centre. Parking available on site but it was busy. Overall a beautiful hotel in a great spot well worth a visit.
The rooms are stunning and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic with a huge choice available. It is a beautiful hotel. The bathrooms are so modern with a fabulous shower. Very quiet hotel.
We stayed in Kinsale at the Trident on our driving trip around Ireland 🇮🇪 it overlooked the water and the breakfast was the nicest we experienced in Ireland. The staff were very friendly and Hal, the manager of the hotel was very friendly and helpful when we asked him his recommendation of a hotel to stay in when we arrived in Dublin. There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel that we ate and drank in for most of our stay and the food was delicious. We couldn’t fault the hotel and would highly recommend
We really enjoyed our stay at the Trident for an Easter break. Rooms on second and third floors have beautiful views of the harbour and it was lovely to watch all the boating activity. The rooms are newly renovated, with lovely bathrooms and new furniture. The lady servicing our room spotted us leaving for breakfast on our first morning and was straight in the clean our room for when we returned. Thanks! Breakfast was in the main dining room, overlooking the marina. Lovely buffet and plenty of choice for hot breakfast too, with friendly and efficient waiting staff. We enjoyed the food and ambience several times in the Wharf Tavern downstairs, clearly a spot the locals as well as visitors like to frequent. There is also a nice, quiet lounge upstairs where you can take a drink and look out over the harbour. The town of Kinsale is only a short walk away and the hotel is very convenient for touring the Old Head or further along the Wild Atlantic Way. The only improvement I would mention is that we had Easter lunch in the main restaurant. It was a set menu and was fairly limited. The beef was pretty dry too. Overall it was a bit old fashioned and was a shame given the room is lovely overlooking the harbour. Would be good if some of the modernity of the menu in the Tavern was translated upstairs too. Overall we had a lovely stay here and would love to come back.
Thanks to Trip Advisor, we selected this hotel for 2 nights. The Wharf Tavern is perfect after a long day of traveling with good food and drink. The breakfast is worth including in the rate. The only improvement I would suggest is the service is pretty slow in the restaurants. As far as the room, there is not in-room thermostats, so we found it to be rather warm for sleeping and we could not do anything.
This was a nice and friendly hotel. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Some rooms only have partial views of the water but it is still pretty. They offer to send you breakfast to your room for a small fee which I took advantage of so I could look out my window. There is a large ship out on the water that is cool, but they start working on it in the morning and it can be a bit noisy. The Town is so cute. Definitely worth a night’s stay.
