Absolutely loved the Hotel. Found the staff so friendly and obliging. They were so good with my little 2 year old grand-child and the teddy bear "Bea" waiting for us on arrival just made our stay and hers. I had an Indian Head massage which was really good and I loved the facilities both before and after the massage. The Hydrotherapy area is beautiful and the swimming pool equally so. Only slight negative is that I felt the staff were under a lot of pressure as it was busy. They handled it very well but could have done with a bit more help. At breakfast on both days there was a young lady cooking eggs in the corner of the dining room and she had a queue of orders. I would think it would be better if requests for omelettes were looked after in the kitchen. I gave my order but then went back up a few minutes later and cancelled it as it would have taken too long. This was just one small matter during a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely go back again.

Myself and my partner enjoyed a midweek two night at fota resort and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff in every department were incredibly friendly, and really gave it that 5 star touch, any minor issues we had were dealt with very professionally and quickly with staff going out of their way to make sure everything was to our liking. The rooms were lovely and very well kept. The pool and spa facilities were gorgeous with a great choice of treatments...I would recommend booking well in advance as the spa seems very popular. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel and it was a real treat to try the large selection of food offered. Lunch and dinner were good but I would have expected a bit more. Overall a brilliant few days away, we will definitely be back.

We had an amazing 2night stay at Fota Island Hotel. With the warmest welcome from pastry chef Ellie, followed by very friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay. The hot stone message in the spa was just amazing and unbelievably relaxing . We also visited the Fota Wildlife Park which was excellent with so much to see and ideal for kids. Big thanks to all the staff! We will be back!!!

Myself and my girlfriend had Foto booked for valetines through However through a messup on the hotels part we didnt get to go as they tried to charge us more to rebook. the reservation manger John was the one who messed up and the women in reservation i talked to on the phone were the most unhelpful rudest reception staff i ever encountered. I will never try go here again. John did eventually agree to give us the original rate when i eventually got through to him but it was a long and stressful experience would expect a lot more from a hotel especially a so called 5*.

This was my 2nd visit to Fota and it was lovely. It’s just so relaxing. The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms fabulous. The breakfast was really nice and the staff were so lovely. Positives: Fab bathroom, really comfy beds and pillows, fluffy robes and slippers. Negatives: The new bar. I liked the food although the menu was limited BUT I hate the new layout to the bar since my last visit. Too much American style dinner not enough bar with atmosphere. No other negatives.

I have just returned from an overnight stay in this hotel. The staff in all sections were helpful pleasant and courteous. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained. I had a hot stone massage give by an expert lady called Umber, my apologies if the spelling is incorrect. The hydro pool was exhilarating. Lunch was pleasant. The walk in the ground delightful. I had a lovely evening meal served by an attentive waitress. The room was above my expectations for comfort and all my needs were met. I would highly recommend this destination. Helen Ireland

Recently went into Fota to sit and enjoy a coffee on a Sunday afternoon, the bar area was quiet 2 or 3 tables and one table having afternoon tea. With four waiting staff behind the bar, it was a struggle to get a menu. Once we caught one of the barmans attention he still had to ask if we were okay oblivious to the fact that we were sitting there waiting on a menu and just to note coffees are expensive here so really you'd expect the service to match what you are paying. It doesn't take too long to decide on a coffee but no-one returned to us so we took it upon ourselves to leave and go elsewhere. Yet again another experience here where the service is letting down what could be a fantastic hotel.

We are just back from a 2 night stay at the hotel. The staff were so friendly and professional at all times. The hotel is very clean. Our bedroom was a Deluxe King room and was really nice. The bed was so comfortable. The seating area outside the bar is super relaxing and we were able to sit in front of the fire with some drinks. We had dinner in the bar 1 night but I was a bit dissapointed with my tofu red curry- not enough sauce and it was a bit dry. The chocolate fondant I had for dessert was pretty delicious though. We had breakfast included in our deal and we had eggs floretine which were so tasty also. The grounds are beautiful. Over all we had a lovely experience there.

We enjoyed staying in the Fota Island resort. We were happy with the grounds, walks and spa treatments however the rooms and overall service is not of a five star level. Our room was disappointing I have stayed in other five stars in Cork and they have been at much higher standard. We ate in the bar the menu was average and the food was pricey. We were disappointed with the food but the one highlight of it was our waitress Eilish. She was very efficient and friendly and made a very average meal much better. After our stay we went to Castlemartyr another five star hotel which was streets ahead of Fota Island. in conclusion on my next trip to Cork or if anyone is travelling to Cork I will not be recommending Fota Island as a five star establishment.

Had a girlfriend lunch today at Fota Island Resort. What a lovely treat we had, the staff were so sweet and the food was incredible!! A manager called Raouf was so helpful and accommodating it made our experience even better!! Any questions we had about the food and wine were immediately answered by him.
