We are a family of 2 adults and 3 young children. We stayed in the holiday homes. The house was very clean and modern with every facility we could want. There was plenty of space outside for the children to play, with playgrounds, tennis courts and open areas. We also made use of the hotel for swimming which the kids really loved. We ate in the hotel twice and ordered from the golf clubhouse for collection once. Each time, the food was super and the service absolutely 5 star. Fota wildlife park and house and gardens are close by. They are really great facilities and all of us really enjoyed them. The town of Cobh is about 10 minutes drive and is a beautiful town. There were festivals on successive weekends when we visited and there is great excitement when cruise ships visit, with plenty of stalls, music and kids activities. We will definitely return to Fota hotel & resort next year.
Stayed in fota resort twice in last few months, our first trip wasn't as pleasant, won't be getting into too much detail, so we made contact with management and they were very professional about it and we decided will come back again. I'm so glad we did, because it was such a nice stay, staff couldn't do enough for u. Very pleasant and so helpful. Made us feel so welcome. Enjoyed every moment of our stay. And the hotel itself is just amazing, beautiful garden on grounds of it, nice walks around. Gorgeous spa and swimming pool area. And our room was lovely. Highly Recommend it.
Beautiful hotel from the moment we walked in .food and service for lunch was first class .we had double room. Plus a twin room for my daughters .were upgraded as we checked in to delux rooms which were fab .only little complaint was one twin bed was more of a camp bed but was rectified. Immediately .the staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating .will definitely come back
While the facilities here are ok it's far from 5 star standard. Lift not working on arrival so had to carry our bags to the second floor. Cigarette stain and broken tile in the bathroom. Brochures missing from room and took forever to get through to reception. The room was big and the staff friendly but the place is definitely lacking TLC, 5 star prices for a 3 star hotel.
Second time at this resot and Booked two dexux rooms in the hotel this time as we were unable to book the the self catering lodges which on our last stay were excellent and very confortable and well decorated. We had two delux Rooms this stay and were so disappointed with the Rooms as certainly not up to 5 star standard that we expected of a 5 star hotel, dated and stained furnishings and carpets, one bedside lamp and housekeeping was a total hit and miss experience, with tea, coffee tray not refilled, carpets not cleaned, rooms not made up on two occasions and had to request that they be made up,shower that overflowed and waited several hours before it was fixed. The hotel lobby, restaurant bars are beautiful and extremely elegant but upstairs and rooms just not up to the same quality and more of a 3 star hotel standard. Had hoped to use Gym but some of the treadmills were out of order and after a couple of days gave up on it as they were not fixed. Pool facilities was good. Golf club and courses are excellent and beautifully maintained, Spa is excellent as well. If we did return would books a house as more up to date and much better value.
The Hotel is supposed to be a five star resort but it's definitely not. The rooms are small and the cleaning performance is not great. (Terrible pillows) In the gym only 2 of the 4 thread-mills were working. Only one elevator working in the week. Breakfast is ok but not great either. Little fruit and no fresh juices. The grounds and golf courses are really nice but the hotel needs to pay better attention to detail to qualify for 5 star Resort. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Amazing resort we stayed in Fota Hotel excellent place and very well catered for children the room was amazing plenty of space extra large bed + single bed very comfortable a very large bathroom and well stocked with towels we were able to purchase concession tickets for the park which is well worth a visit and you can spend all day here with plent of picnic areas as well as catering shops for food as well as playgrounds to keep the little ones happy the grounds in the hotel are amazing and lovely walks to do here we eat in the bar which caters for children with a buffet at €9.50 per head which is excellent value and good food for adults at reasonable price also we visited the swimming pool which is well kept and very clean there is also a playroom which is a great assett with young children would certainly recommend a visit here and the park is a faboulus place to see all the animals up close unlike the zoo where they are mainley caged will return again in the future
Fantastic hotel with amazing food and excellent customer service. Staff went the extra mile to help us during our stay especially Ian Keating at reception he was so friendly and helpful with the information he provided on the local area.
Myself, hubby and 3 year old spent 2 nights here last week... it was fabulous from start to finish! Rooms are spacious and very clean. Theres a kids playroom and alot of greenland for kids to play outside! Our wee man loved the pool especially! We dined in the restaurant for dinner one evening and breakfast 2 mornings! Food and service was 10/10 every time! I read some reviews about the service and food was a bit sceptical but our experience could not be faulted! Theres was one lady that served us that went above and beyond at every request and was very welcoming (she had Blonde/brown hair with glasses) she was gem! We will definitely be returning with our wider family!
I booked in to Foto with my two nephews for a treat as we were going to visit the Wildlife park. The Package I booked included tickets to the park and with that in mind was excellent value. From the minute we parked concierge came outside to meet us, parked my car and took all my luggage, suitcases, tractors, Winnie the Poohs teddies and all. The staff were all extremely professional, friendly polite, I can't understand why anyone would say otherwise as I came across and interacted with close to 10 staff members during my time there and they were NOTHING but kind caring and helpful. When I booked in I happened to mention that my nephews had sadly lost both parents in tragic circumstances in the last 2 years, they are only 3 and 7 and just mentioned that if they could do anything nice on their stay it would be appreciated. When we entered the room they had left a gift for each toys that they obviously went out of their way to buy for them. They had even hung up all the coats we sent up on the luggage trolley. That in my opinion is 5* service. There was also a plate of cookies left there. This was so touching and made the boys smile, but 5 mins later there was a knock on the door. A girl arrived with a trolley on which were some more goodies including hot chocolate, champagne cheeses fruit etc. The two boys thought this was amazing. I wouldn't ever ask for special treatment but these 2 little guys have been through so much that I thought that it would not hurt to ask. I did mention the same to another hotel who didn't do anything but ask me to pay for a larger room as the 3 year old would need his own bed. That I suppose is the difference between this hotel and others. They cared and they went out of their way to make it special for us. Like I say I know everyone has their own difficulties and obviously a hotel can not be expected to do that for everyone but here is an example of the kindness and real people who work here. They were excellent. The room was beautiful, bed was comfy, bathroom was impressive, view was perfect and food was also beautiful. Cant fault it. Special thanks to Elaine for looking after us. We will certainly be back and will tell many of the kindness we received which made our stay extra special!
