big old hotel with large bedrooms. close to city centre but it is a very steep walk.
Nice hotel with a classic atmosphere. Large rooms. Great restaurants. Nice people catering to your needs
Hotel needs serious upgrade... staff can be friendlier ... not enough parking for guest ... lack of hot water ... definitely not 4 star .... 2 at best!!!
Nice hotel in original structure that brought period appeal. However the walls are thin and the doors slam shut so those that get into their rooms late can be heard. Still enjoyed the stay as it had all we needed and at a good price.
We stayed here knowing it was a short stay while visiting Blarney Castle. It is a good location for that purpose as it is easy to get out of town from this hotel. the hotel sits up on a steep hill with approximately a half mile walk to the bottom which is where the restaurants would be located. We did eat at the hotel and the food was good. We sat out on their patio which was quite nice. When we arrived the hotel parking lot was full so parking is an issue. My husband and son, 2 cars, dropped us at the front and went to park. They had to parallel park on a steep hill which was a challenge since we are from the US and driving in general is different. My only other complaint would be there are no fans in the rooms and, as we were on the top floor, the rooms were quite stuffy. Overall it is a pretty hotel with a nice restaurant and large rooms in a not so ideal location.
wonderful stay ! large room; well equipped. dinner in the restaurant on site very nice also
We were told on arrival we would be in another wing on the top floor. There was staf to help but a difficult place to stay if you. Have a bad knee. Also not that close to the downtown pubs where we hoped to hear Irish music . Also plan your trip so you are not driving to or from this hotel or around town during rush hour- long backups on the roads.
This is a nice hotel, the rooms are a little dated but the lobby and bar area is great! It is a good 15-20 minutes to the city center but not a bad walk!
It was a great experience from beginning to end. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to go there again.
I stayed two nights - one each before and after a guided cycling trip. The first night I was on the 3rd floor and didn't hear a THING from a huge wedding in the hotel. Sadly that day the lift was out of order, but they were great about bringing my luggage up and down for me. The second night I was in a lower level room and was awakened in the middle of the night by some event in the hotel. When I called down the front desk said he would tell the manager but nothing really came of that. The event ended at 1 am when he said it was scheduled to end so I was awake for over an hour listening to it. Lift was fixed, very nice staff, comfy beds.
This is a very old hotel..at least the building structure and deco...the room is nice and clean and the staff are friendly. The 2 grouses were; 1. if you stay on the second floor like we did, you will need to take 2 separate elevators to get there...a bit of inconvenience 2. fortunately the weather was pretty cool when we were there...there is no air-condition in the room, so if you are warm in the room, you need to open your window. There is however a heater.
