We enjoyed our stay at the Travelodge in Cookville, Tennessee, formerly the Alpine Lodge. The building is undergoing renovation, which is good because it is really showing its age. But our room had everything we needed including a recliner for my husband. Also a refrigerator, tv, new furniture, updated bathroom. Very clean. Loved the patio off our room with two chairs and a table. If it hadn't been pouring rain, we could have watched the sun rise over the mountains. Lovely view! Good Mexican restaurant conveniently beside the motel. The only problem I saw was the difficulty in taking luggage to and from rooms because of all the steps. There isn't an elevator. It might be difficult for the elderly or disabled person to navigate the building, and especially to get to the continental breakfast room by the lobby.
This is a great place to bring your family. It's a beautiful view!! Just minutes from town but up on a hill is beautiful!!
Staff was nice. I didn't stay for breakfast can't comment on it, but there were plenty of people eating it. Room was dated and in need of some maintenance but for the price it was fine with me. Right off the interstate, a gas station a stones throw away and a great Mexican restaurant shares the parking lot. If you need a quick overnight stay and don't want to go anywhere far for food or drinks, stay here.
I made a reservation with booking.com. I asked for a queen room that was non smoking. They gave me a dirty, musty smoking room. No elevators. Rude staff. Disgusting room. This was the most disgusting room I ever saw.... that's saying a lot. They made a mistake giving me a room that smelled like an ashtray.
Wonderful staff! Rooms are very clean, and a gorgeous view. Also, the location is tucked away nicely, away from other hotels, and adjacent to the restaurant with the best food in town.
We loved the family owners! I hope they are able to fix the place up the way they dream. We will be back.We (my wife and I) got some great photos of a glorious sunrise! Good service, but very dated. The rooms are small but clean. The location is so good I think this motel has tremendous potential.
This property has just become a Travelodge and is undergoing renovation. It was clean but dated. Service staff was excellent. Small continental breakfast, but adequate. Would stay there again for the price. Location was a bit remote, just past the main exits for Cookeville. Quiet until the morning when the rock quarries across the Interstate began mining. Lots of heavy equipment noise which is only a factor if you are a late sleeper.
We stayed here one night on our way home from vacation. I read reviews and decided for the price and the reviews that this would be a good choice. Wrong. I ask for a king bed, no smoking. The bathroom sink had smoke marks all along the edges. Our room was large, so was the bath. The carpet was filthy as was the recliner and couch. The bed was very old and lumpy. Pillows were almost non-existent. Staff checking in were very nice. The man that checked us out was very rude. We will not be back here, ever.
My husband and I stayed one night here as a halfway point on a trip. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. You definitely get what you pay for in the way of the continental breakfast. It was good, just very limited. The bed was not very comfortable, but again for the price and time frame of stay it was okay.
we were advised to come here because of the good rate and the fact that this motel has a rollaway bed to use for an extra person, unlike the cookie-cutter motels that do not have them anymore; we tried at several chain motels with no luck. Also there was a wonderful and helpful lady named Jenny (spelling ?) who accommodated us like family with all our needs and information requests. This motel very near and easy access to Rt 40 as well as a very good price for the 4 of us. Thank you, Alpine Lodge for a very good experience.
