We always enjoy the pet friendly aspect of La Quinta Inns & Suites, and this visit was no exception. The desk staff were friendly & helpful, the breakfast was good, the facility itself was clean - all that was lacking was the hot tub, which was posted "out of order".
As I stood at the elevator on floor 3, I was amused by the couple making out in the room across from the elevator. The room? Clean. Beds in 310 very firm. 4 pillows, nice. Again, the kid upstairs was somewhat annoying, but being tired, I didn't much care. The 2 ladies, night shift and then morning, were super friendly and I'm overall pleased. Price was right, at a hundred bucks. McDonald's and several eateries within walking distance.
This is a nice location with good food nearby. Our check-in was quick, our room clean but the floor could have been vacuumed a little better, and we did not hear any road noise. Another plus, was the large variety of tv channels. They even had NBCSN and NHL! On the downside, the walls were quite thin and we could hear the conversations and children in the room next to us and in the hall. Fortunately, no one around us was up very late. At 8:30, housekeeping started their rounds and the doors banged as they went in and out of rooms. Our room was a few doors down from the elevator, and we could hear it ding. Other downside was the very soft water. Even after I dried my hands off, they still felt strangely slick. Overall a nice hotel, but noisy.
I called to make a reservation at hotel for May 27, 2017 and got a confirmation number. when I checked in to the hotel I was told I didn't have a reservation but, no problem, we have a room. She told me it would be 102.83 and asked for my credit card. when I was checking out on the 28, different girl, I was told the room was 97.64, she asked if I needed a receipt and I said it was ok, I didn't need one. When I checked with my credit card company I was charged twice and called the hotel and they said I wasn't charged twice. Well I was and now they won't refund me the money. Also there was no mat in the tub and my husband fell hitting his ribs on the tub. I told the lady at the front desk and she said yes we have been told that before. Well I hope they put a mat down this time! The room was clean.
Room accommodations didn't reflect what the staff told me over the phone. Not enough bedding to go around. I was billed for miscellaneous charges that were out of my control. I feel like they are punishing me for having a disabled daughter. I will never stay here or at another la quinta again.
We have stayed in La Quinta Inns before and unfortunately, this one was the worst. I needed to do 2 loads of laundry and they have 2 coin operated washing machines. I could get one to start but the coin inserter was jammed in the second so I could not turn it on. I reported it and was told that it was probably full of coins and unfortunately, the owner was the only one with a key to open it and he lived in another town and would not be coming in on the weekend. When my clothes were done in the operating washing machine I was very upset to see that the machine left greasy streaks all over my clothes. I had to go to an outside laundromat to wash the clothes since they had no functional washing machine. This was very upsetting and inconvenient. That was not the only problem. The next day we left at 10 AM and the housekeeper was in the room adjacent to ours and indicated she would get to our room next. We were gone until 7 PM. When we returned we were horrified to see that the door to our room was open. Our room was right across the hall from the elevator so everyone who used the elevator that day would have seen the open door. By some miracle, our laptop computer, camera, and other belongings were in the room. We believe the housekeeper left the door open when she was done in our room. It was very upsetting to know that our belongings were at risk of being stolen. We reported this to the front desk and got a weak apology. We will definitely be staying at another hotel the next time we are in Columbus.
Stay was okay once we got relocated. A loud whining 'big' dog next door for 2+ hours soured our stay. Once we were relocated was okay, but very little remorse for situation and no compensation offered.
Room was clean and staff friendly and attentive. Room was located by a stairwell and back door - LOTS of noise until midnight. Had the room been in a different location I would have rated this hotel "excellent".
I travel often for business. Working in the oil and gas industry I often stay in hotels where oilfield workers stay and it is common that they track in dirt and grime on their field boots. This hotel had a boot brush next to the front door. And when I slipped on dirt/sand that had been tracked in, before I could even get to the front desk to let someone know about the hazard, there was an employee cleaning it up. What a pleasant surprise to find attention to detail and quick response to needed clean up.
We had a very pleasant stay. Very clean rooms and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We traveled with 2 pets and we were not required and additional deposit which was a huge perk. I also booked a room last minute for a family member and was accommodated.
