We arrived late in the evening & were greeted by Braxton at the front desk. He was very welcoming & friendly! We will definitely be back!

Love this hotel. Bathroom is small but location is terrific.

I booked this at the last minute bc I missed my flight home. Upon arrival around 11pm, the young lady at the front desk cooly greeted me. She seemed not to want to be there. She asked for my ID and credit card which I gave to her, placing both in her hand. She returned them by placing them on the counter. I asked that she hand them to me. Instead, she slid them towards me on the counter. Growing up, my father who is Black and other of my elders shared how some White people would place their change on the counter rather than in their hand, and this signaled racial prejudice. The White people didn't want to touch them. They distanced themselves from them in this way. While I imagine this was not consciously in this young lady's mind, I was in South Carolina, a state with a clear history of racial discrimination. To ask twice for my ID and credit card to be handed to me and they not be, left me wondering if every customer is treated in this manner. I'm not sure what the young lady was thinking that led to her cool reception and lack of consideration w/r/to returning my items. Nonetheless, it is not the kind of customer service I expect or accept as a business traveler. When she slid my items towards me on the counter after my 2nd request, I told her directly to place them in my hand. She did so, however, I will not stay here again and I don't suggest this hotel for people who support all people being treated with consideration.

It was very nice But this review is annoying.

Will stay again. Was great. The only thing I could find was the coffee in the room was one regular and three decaff..

Overall a fantastic experience. The staff was super friendly (yay Bishop!). Already booked for move in day!

Very pleasant stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Shuttle is an added bonus.

Great service, pleasant staff, meticulously maintained, beautiful rooms.

One block from USC campus, quiet location, charming and beautiful. The staff was great, they recommended a restaurant and drove us there, picked up as well. Excellent breakfast. Absolutely will stay here again.

Great Hotel, good location to campus and downtown Would stay here again for sure.

We have stayed here several times as our duaghter goes to USC. Staff is friendly, location could not be better for USC events and the rooms and decor are very nice. Price is a bargain (unless you are going down for a football game when they escalate). Breakfast that is included is pretty good. Homemade omelets, hot and cold cereals etc. Very nice. We always try to stay here. Some of the desk staff are hospitality students.

Great location for the USC pool. Very convenient to walk to the pool and all the restaurants on Gervais Street. Breakfast is included and is better than expected. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Very quiet despite its convenient location.

Perfect location. Free shuttle service down to Five Points or the Vista so no worries about driving or parking. Excellent room and service!

We were in town visiting our daughter who attends the university, and this location is primo!!! They have such a nice happy hour each evening, cash bar, free snacks, in what was the living room of the former house this used to be before the hotel took it over. Ask to see pictures of the home, it's really neat. The front of the house of the hotel is mostly staffed by the tourism, food, lodging mgmt students from the USC, the entire staff is friendly and eager to please. The shuttle is very convenient, the rooms are comfortable, some are a little "unique" with their layouts but again, this was a private home many years ago which makes it all the more fun to stay here. Our bathroom had TWO showers, one was a huge shower and the other was a tub/shower combo, so many choices! The amenities in the bathroom and coffee bar are lovely, nice portions offered. The bed is comfortable, (but I wish I had asked about more traditional pillows, they were square shaped, but that's my fault for not asking.) and so was the pull out sofa that our son slept on. Breakfast is awesome with made to order omelettes and many healthy choices to get the day started. There is a small but adequate work out room. The location of this hotel is the best! For a treat, try Sunday brunch at Top of Carolina, the revolving restaurant on top of the Capstone Dorm, reservations can be made the day of but it's better to make ahead, $21 per person for a feast.

Took my daughter on a tour of the USC campus, and this was an excellent place to use as a home base. Loved the chocolate chip cookies and other snacks in the foyer!

I stayed at this hotel for a Saturday night, and this turned out to be a good choice of hotel. It's in a great location, right across the street from campus.

Halls needed vacuuming. Room carpet was stained and not well cleaned - "we're replacing it all". Comfy beds and bath. Quiet. Nice that there was lemonade and iced tea near reception. Good enough breakfast. Location on USC campus is the draw, of course, but we were just passion' through.

Great rate, great hotel. Location was fantastic and staff was helpful, free breakfast was nice.

We chose to stay here because it was close to University of South Carolina and I noticed that they had pillow top mattress listed on the site. Not only did they not have pillow top beds but both the night desk clerk and the hotel day manager were not helpful or even apologetic. I wont recommend nor stay there again.

I always pay extra to stay here when i have to go to Columbia for work, it's that nice. :)
