Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Columbia - Downtown

Located on a 4 lane BUSY highway, that seems to have heavy traffic deep into the night. The facility itself is spotless and new. The ground immaculate. But if your room is on the backside next to the 4 lane roadway, forget about getting a good nights sleep. Constant heavy loud noises woke us up until the very wee hours of the morning. We overslept a bit because our nights sleep was constantly interrupted. The breakfast was excellent with a decent variety of food choices, fresh fruits and breads.

Got a great suite with a whirlpool tub. I was expecting an average room but quite the surprise when I got a suite with the tub, huge bathroom and shower and separate bedroom. Staff was great and free happy hour and breakfast was included.

The hotel was nice. Clean with friendly staff. It is on the outskirts of the city so its a pretty long walk to food and nightlife.

The hotel is nice and fairly convenient to the restaurants and night life. My only disappointment was that I was in a room near the rear exit and it wreaked of smoke. Luckily I travel with Lysol. Otherwise, nice experience.

The hotel is conveniently located to USC campus and downtown shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was about average. Hotel was clean, service prompt and efficient.

We stayed here while in town for business event. Close to stadium and lots if restaurantsin downtown vista area.

At first it's seem fine inside the hotel room. 'Til I started feeling sick inside the room. I noticed that when I'm away from the hotel I'm fine. But as soon as I get back in. I Felt sick again. Then noticed the signs posted around the hotel of the renovation. Then I realized that's what make me felt sick. And also the hotel keys doesn't work halves the times. It's very annoying to kept going up and down to the service desk to get another keys. And don't forget that I feeling sick at the same time. This is horrible. Its really ruined my trip to South Carolina for the first time.

Great room, LOVED the tub and bathroom. Bed was super comfortable.

Work is bringing me back to Columbia, SC. Will definitely be staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

There was dirt on floor in the bathroom the whole time we were there. The room was noisy and hot. You could the people next door talking. The traffic outside was loud. The breakfast was nothing. They were out of eggs when we went down, no fruit, the pancake maker did not work. All in all it was not what I expected for the price we paid.

We had a real good time at Holiday Inn express. It has a wonderful location a block away from the SC Museum an a few blocks from main street. The hotel serves a good breakfast and has a nice ambiance.

Our stay was just for overnight, during a football game weekend and the town was crowded and this (like other area) hotels was booked solid. The room was great (clean with nice furnishings, roomy, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious). The staff was very friendly and helpful (true Southern charm). The complementary breakfast was awesome. The pricing was a bit higher than I would have liked to have paid but not out of line with other hotels on this busy weekend.

The staff was very helpful, but some of the amenities (like the loud air conditioner) could stand to be updated.

Just needed a place to rest our head before hitting the USC campus the next morning for move in day. This was perfect for our needs.

Lack of Signage made finding the hotel challenging. Staff was very professional and courteous.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Holiday Inn in Columbia, SC. The staff was very nice and accommodating, the room was fairly large and very comfortable, the breakfast was fine, We would stay there again.

I really liked staying here. The room was nice and the breakfast was good. I will definitely stay here again when I come to USC.

Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel. It was clean and the breakfast was hot, wonderful, and was constantly restocked. When we first arrived at the hotel, the original girl behind the desk was rude and told us that we would have to wait another hour to check in. 15 minutes later, a nicer gentleman was able to help us and apologized for our wait. He said that normally, we would have been able to check in by 2. Overall- great stay and would stay here again. Parking was free and had no problems.

Great location, helpful staff. They don't serve breakfast until 6:30 (I needed to leave before then), Other than that, near perfection.

Nice hotel located about 3/4 of a mile from downtown shops and activities. Wish I was slightly closer, but we had a car. Personal Pillow was left behind and it was sent without problem within 5 days. Overall nice hotel, but description of "downtown" was a bit deceiving.
