Hotel under renovations. Terrible conditions. Should not even be available for reservations.

Smelled had to move to another room. It smelled the same.

This hotel is going through a transition to become a Hilton Garden. They have virtually no interest in continuing to service the clientele during this transition process. They have run out of items (e.g., maps of the area, coffee packets, and hot water at certain times of the day); stingy with others (towels);lack basic amenities (ice); and do not take pride in their appearance (dead plant in lobby). I fully expected a different experience since I'm aware that the university has a hospitality major.

Very affordable and conveniently downtown Columbia. They are doing renovation but still had a great experience like the work was never there....

The room stunk and had a broken chair, stained carpets and chairs, worn finish on furniture, mildew in shower (even caulked over mildew), hair all over bathroom floor, low shower water pressure, dimly lit everywhere, wall paper falling off, partial bed liner. The most disgusting hotel i've ever seen in my 50 years and i've stayed in many. I would not recommend anyone stay there. If I could have afforded to, I'd have gotten another hotel and I now know why they are non refundable rooms. HORRIBLE!, I was shocked and angry they rent this hotel. It made working out of town hell. The front desk couldn't even give directions around the corner also.

This hotel is conveniently located near the University of South Carolina. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy.

THE HOTEL WAS DIRTY, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. I COULD BARELY GO TO SLEEP. THIS WAS THE WORSE HOTEL STAY I HAVE EVER HAD, IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

Quiet, clean, located conveniently to downtown and capitol

Not a nice or welcoming feeling hotel, dated and dingy. Worst part is that doors lock after 11pm and I had to ring the bell and pound on the door and repeatedly try to call the front desk for more than 15 minutes before a staff person finally wandered by and let me in. This was at midnight - appreciate security concerns but they need a card reader for hotel room keys and more attentive staff . . . For the price I paid this was not a good hotel.

The first room I got had like cockroach eggs in the sheets then they moved me to a different room aND the lights were dangling out of the ceiling. The rooms smelled like mildew and the staff was very sarcastic

We were there to go to Ft. Jackson as were a few others, you get what you pay for but I don't think I'd stay again although you never know.

The woman at the front desk was by far the least personable woman I have ever encountered in the 100 plus times I have stayed overnight in a hotel. The hotel is literally crumbling at the baseboards, elevators, hallways. The room had an unpleasant orange clean smell, but the room was pretty rough. The grout lines in the bathroom were embarrassing from a hotel management standpoint. The bed was really comfortable, which was the high point of my stay. Location is very close to the state house building and a short walk to nightlife.

Stayed here while visiting USC and was great location. However this is a very rundown hotel and unless we were in a non-renovated room, in bad need of a facelift. It's also the first Choice hotel I've been to that charges $5.99 for the Continental Breakfast in the mornings! For shame :( For $100 a night in a room that has a ripped bath towel you can furnish breakfast in the morning. Yes, I said a ripped bath towel. Shameful.

Great stay and it was just what I needed to get the job done

Really not a pleasant place to stay. Service was poor and unorganized. Generally dirty through out. Only door in and out had people sitting on the steps smoking all evening when trying to check in. A bad hotel. Bad experience.

The hotel is quiant. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is Summer the town was very quiet as for the hotel. The value is very good for budget conscience people.

the room was not worth the money. Service was good and location is ok.

. Stayed here for 3 months on and off due to work. Only economical game in town. Roaches in the tub and room. Rooms are tired and old. AC/heater is motel type and some barely worked. Staff was nice enough. Even the electronics key didn't work and I was locked out for half the nice. Oh, got a coupon for a free breakfast. If you have a car, stay downtown. If on a limited budget, dont say you werent warned.

very good experience here at this hotel. good location, good service.

Sweet location. Good for sleeping, getting ready and hitting up the town. Now really luxury.
