We highly recommend the Montreal am Dom Hotel, it’s was an absolute pleasure staying at this hotel. They checked all the boxes, very centrally located 2 blocks from the Dome Cathedral and Train Station. Great Business / Conference Facilities available. Also found ourselves close to 3 of the 5 Christmas Markets... Magical 🎄❄️⛄️ Rooms: As Accor Gold Member we got a double upgrade to a Deluxe King Suite with a spacious bathroom and big bath & rain shower. Nespresso Coffee Machine and free pods in room, minibar available at charge. Clean, beds very comfortable. Ammenities: We used the Spa facilities, steam room and sauna, found it clean, hygienic and comfortable - missing a Jacuzzi, would be good addition. Dinning: Breakfast was out of this world!!! The spread was brilliant, allowance made for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free as well as normal diet with a wide selection of cheeses, cold meats, fish, fresh veg & fruits, yogurt, cereals, breads, American warm selection of bacon, baked beans etc available and if you still want something else you can order an omelette. We also received a welcome drink and even though we didn’t dine at the Restaurant for lunch / dinner the menu looked good with a wide variety of food / drinks. The hotel also has a Cigar Lounge day high is worth a visit. Service: Friendly and above average, if you need anything just ask and the a staff member will assist you with all queries or questions. the hotel is filled with friendly, polite, helpful staff all of them bilingual and fluent in several languages. Overall a 5⭐️ plus, we will definitely return to this beautiful City of Cologne which you can’t help but to fall in love with. To all staff and management of the Hotel, thank you for your hospitality and kindness. Biss nächstes mal!

What really made our trip was the excellent hospitality..they let us do a really early check-in and even were okay with a late check-out, even though we eventually didn't need that. The location was really good with all the Christmas markets and the train station at a walking distance. Would go back to them again for sure

This hotel is close to all the tourist attractions. New features in rooms, clean, staff are helpful and all have good English. The bed is very comfortable and the air con maintains a good temperature at all times. Even with the doona you don’t get too hot nor cold. We had a room that faced the street but there was no noise. Though we were here in winter. I would highly recommend this hotel to a discerning traveller

The hotel is modern, well run with friendly staff. The rooms are small, but, more than adequate, spotless with comfortable beds, air con., good shower, TV (BBC1/2, ITV), free Wi-Fi, minibar and tea making facilities. Buffet style breakfast was included in our package and included a good wake-up welcoming coffee, a variety of fresh fruits, fresh fruit salad, different yoghurts, fresh cheeses and meats, scrambled eggs and bacon and sausages, pancakes with cherry sauce, a selection of breads and croissants with toasting facilities and a fresh orange juice squeezer. We did not use the bar or restaurant. Very good daily room service. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the Christmas Markets at the Köln Dom. Other markets nearby include Neumatkt/Engel Markt, Alter Markt, Heumarkt and the market beside the Chocolate Museum by the Rhine. All are recommended. The train from Köln-Bonn Flughafen (Airport) to the Hauptbahnhof Central Train Station takes about 15mins. A return ticket for two is €11.00. Tickets are purchased from a vending machine (English language menu) at the train station. Remember to register the tickets in the machine nearby. (The return train to the Airport is usually from Section B on Platform 10 (electronic display near entrance) accessed on the extreme left inside the Station. On arrival at the Airport, Ryanair flights are at Terminal 2). On arrival in Köln, on exiting Hauptbahnhof, you are met with the view of the Köln Dom. Take a left, going around the rear of the Cathedral. The hotel is a five minute walk. Cross a road and follow the walkway on the left side in the tunnel underneath the Museum Ludvig. After about 200m the hotel is on the left. The main shopping area (and there is a lot of retail therapy available!) is Hohe Strasse and streets off it, including Breite and Schildergasse. There is also the upmarket Ehrenstrasse and surrounding streets off Rudolfplatz. We ate mostly very good local fast food on the go (we were on a three day quick break!) in the Christmas Markets lubricated with Gluhwein! There are many restaurants listed in the Insomnia City Guide. We did have a hit-the-spot fast-food sit down meal, based on the Canadian poutine dish, of pulled pork/chicken with salad and potato/sweet potato fries and a local Kölsch beer for €10 each at Frittenwerk on Ehrenstrasse. There is a good German pub near the hotel opposite the Dom, Früh Am Dom. The Old Town, by the Rhine has some fine inns too. We visited one very good art museum, the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, which houses a collection of 19th Century art - Monet, Sisley, Gaugin, Munch, Morisot, Cassett , Renoir, Degas, Seurat etc - as well as medieval and Baroque collections. If you want a very good hotel in the middle of Cologne within walking distance of Christmas Markets, shopping districts and good restaurants with, our priority, easy access to and from the Airport, this is the hotel for you. Not the cheapest, but, good value for money, great service and friendly and professional staff. We will return.

Visited for 2 nights with wife and elderly mother for Christmas Markets. Great location for the Dom and Old Town Christmas Markets, and some museums. Area in front of the hotel was under serious construction; there should be a note on the hotel web site. Overall a good hotel, above the typical Mercure. Very nice sauna area.

Everything was ok, good location, easy access to trains and buses, comfortable room and welcoming staffs. But the wifi cannot be worse, you should not have to pay to such bad connection, especially when it is such an essential thing to have.

A nice, cozy hotel with modern amenities. Convenient to train station, Old Town, central attractions like the Dom Cathedral. Room was on the small side, but overall a very comfortable place to stay for a night that suited our needs while we were in town.

We stayed at the hotel Wednesday through Sunday to visit the Christmas Markets. It is the perfect location for the markets. The room was nice. Large bathroom with two sinks. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast Buffet is a bit expensive, but it has everything. There was some construction in from that other people commented on, but it was never in the way. It was nice and quite at night too. The staff was great to us too.

I stayed 3 days and the location is perfect. 3 minutes walk form the train station and subway/tram system. Great stores , coffee shops and restaurants. Everything’s within 5 minutes walking. Hotel is comfortable, staff is helpful, breakfast is very good and there is a restaurante inside the hotel for a quick meal if you arrive late and tired. I will come back , it is very convenient when you are on a business trip and time is against you!

Stayed for 2 nights while visiting the Christmas markets. The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful. Our room had separate seating and sleeping area which was great. Large bathroom with Bath and shower and one of the comfiest beds I've slept in! Perfect location for visiting the markets.
