The staff are nice. Very good breakfast & great variety. Only set back is that it's placed far away from city if you are seeking shopping area. There's a bus stop near by. The closest train station is about 20min walk. Restaurants nearby. A beautiful forest is very close as well.
The room was adequate and overlooked a pleasant groups of gardens (not the hotel's). The breakfast was reasonable, the bar OK. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant for evening meals was closed (I'm told due to the carnival) Free parking limited to 8 or 9 spaces otherwise a stinging 12 euros a night.
I stayed for 4 days in this hotel and my stay was great ! I had an impression that European hotels do not allow early check in. The official check-in timing of the hotel was 3 pm whereas I reached hotel at around 11 AM. Sweet german girls, speaking fluent english present at the front office not only allowed me early check in but also patiently explained me how I can commute in the city and about other good deals the hotel was offering. There was a short circuit power off next night around 1 pm. The staff at night duty came over within 1 minute of calling and corrected everything in 15 minutes. Buffet breakfast had good variety of breads, cereals, yogurts, fruits and vegetables. The hotel is 5 minutes from local train station and 15 minutes walk from Kon Arcade mall. Overall, it was a pleasant stay 👍
Good hotel, in walking distanse from the metro. Clean rooms, very friendly people. Great breakfast. We where there with the Christmas market, a very good time to be there. Because the hotel is not in the middle of the center its very quitte. And the metro is in walking distance, you are in the center in 10 minutes.
There is nothing inherently wrong with the Best Western Koeln - except for the fact that it is not as close as it could be to the city centre. I found myself here as there was limited availability elsewhere on my chosen date. However, if you need to be on business in the local area then it would be a perfectly reasonable option. The staff are friendly and efficient - an iron appeared at my room within moments of being requested. I was upgraded to a suite which was bigger than my flat at home, and this was clean and comfortable. There was coffee-making facilities and the wifi worked reliably. A voucher for a drink from the bar was a nice touch. I did notice the noise of the railway line - I came too in a drowsy state half way through the night and did wonder what was going on. I ate in the restaurant on my first night and the food was perfectly fine, as was breakfast the next day. The usual German hotel options and not too outrageous at EUR15 pre-booked. All in all the hotel is fine for what it is and where it is - just don't expect to be in the shadow of the cathedral. That is a 15 minute / EUR20 taxi ride away.
AT first sight this is a good hotel. Well appointed room and bathroom, comfortable bed and good sized flat screen tv. Very good wifi, was able to work here all afternoon on day of arrival. Breakfast very good and plenty of excellent choice. Unfortunately the location is not great. It's within 100m of a railway bridge/station and seems to be directly under a flight path. When I checked in mid afternoon I was told I'd been put in a "quiet" room. 12 hours later at 3.30am, after hearing a number of trains and several planes, I thought to myself "if this is a quiet room, what must a noisy room be like ??!!". However - it is less than a 5 minute walk away from the Suenner Keller, Colognes oldest brewery, where the beer is excellent, and so is the food !!
We were just for two days in case of Unheilig concert. Room was always fresh, tea, coffee tabs always added. Friendly staff, doggies are welcome) The breakfast is for any taste! In good weather is a pleasure to sit on that nice Terasse) Near hotel gives a shops . I forgot my Michael Kors bag there. We called and i became it back per Post.
Comfortable queen bed but 2 single duvets..... hate those passion killer things. It's impossible to cuddle up together. Shower over bath and shower head positioned in wrong place. You either get the bathroom floor very wet or put your back out trying to take a shower and keep the water in the tub. Hot water kettle but no fridge. Ghastly archaic system of logging onto email that throws you off each day. Not the best location. Pleased we had secure parking in the underground Carpark. Rating 4+. Would probably not stay again.
It is a little away from the city center, and on the other side of the traditional city of Cologne. The hotel is nice with very funtional rooms and the breakfast buffet is with a significant variety of food (mueslies, hams, croisants,...). Consider that the Parking place is small outside and on the garage; but you can park easely on the area.
As of April 24th, 2016 when we stayed at the hotel, the exit off the A4 was closed due to construction; so if you don't have a GPS, the hotel is very hard to find. Google Maps didn't prove helpful to us; but, thankfully, Christophe at the front desk was wonderful and guided us there which was great since even the sign on the street is so small that you can easily miss it. Once we got inside the hotel, we were amazed at the lovely facilities, our room (#307), and the great breakfast! My husband even got a lovely gift for being a BW Rewards member. When we left the hotel the next morning, we found out that getting back on the A4 is really simple since the on-ramp is still open.
