Ameron Hotel Regent

We had planned to see the Koln Christmas markets for a long time and wanted to spend 3 days doing just that. We drove up from Frankfurt & stayed at the Hotel Ameron Regent. Those days are the busiest of the year, and the hotels run nearly at full occupancy. The staff is very courteous, check-in & check-out are a breeze. The breakfast is not the best that I have seen in hotels of this class, but the coffee is excellent. The tram stops are 5 min walk away and the line takes you to all the major Christmas markets in the Köln area from the oldest, to the hip to the newer ones. We took public transportation within the city to avoid hopping on and off the markets & also drink up some Gluh wine and Lumumba.

It's a 7-15 min tram ride from the central station. However, considering it's price and the service you receive in the hotel, it's very good. If you are looking for affordable stay this is the place to be. We got the deal for 320 EUR for 4 nights. In our case the problem that we had was that we also have a 2 year old son and he doesn't eat a lot of western european food. He prefers only rice, noodles and pasta. The hotel staff was very kind enough of cook it for us on request. This tiny small things actually make you come to such a place again and again. We plan to go to Berlin and we will again look for a hotel of the Ameron Group.

i stayed here for 7 nights. It was very close to the city and shops. it was a short tram ride or brisk walk. the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. the fitness area was clean and functional. the breakfast was great and the coffee was good. i will be back

GOOD: Excellent breakfast, very clean, very comfortable beds, very close to train station 5-6 minutes to the center, stuff. BAD: Could not connect to wifi for 3 days , reception stuff tried to help, no results.

This hotel is ideal if you have to do something in the area (Melaten). If your visit to Cologne is mainly for tourism this is probably not the best option. Rooms are ok, the staff is helpful and friendly, breakfast is plentiful. I would say that it is very practical and honest hotel. No fireworks. I have stayed there several times and will definitely return, because I like it when you get exactly what you need.

Very good Hotel, excellent service from the staff. Good clean rooms, Close to the train stations. Parking just beside the hotel. I will recommend this hotel to everyone!! We were pleasantly surprised.

Very good hotel. Staff extremely helpful and did more than what is expected. Highly recommended for families and business travellers. Number 1 or 7 tram takes one to the heart of the old town in a few minutes.

It was easy to travel every corner of Cologne with trains. The hotel is very close more than 4 train stations. The staff were helpful. The dishes were delicious and clean. I just didn't understand the system with double-bed. There were 2 single beds and there was a huge blank between them. It would be better with a real double bed.

Very good structure, comfortable rooms and all areas clean. Parking just beside the hotel (outdoor parking and indoor - via lift). Staff very nice and helpful, good service. The restaurant is very small, find an available table for my family was difficult during breakfast, even when we tried different time. One night we arrived very tired and planned to have dinner at the hotel, as the restaurant closes at 22:00. At 20:00 we called the restaurant up and was not possible to have dinner. The restaurant was full...Very disappointing especially when you are with your family and kids....

+ Very comfortable stay; + Room: very comfortable bed, big TV, bathrobe & disposable slippers, very clean, great view (12th floor); + Bathroom: very practical, big shower, good body lotion...; + Parking: Outside or inside parking (inside parking with elevator); + Very nice and polite staff; + We only stayed for 1 night, but we'll definitely come again; + One of the best stays in 4* Hotels. - Couldn't figure it out how to open both window blinds; - Would love if there would be breakfast included in the price on (option with breakfast).
