Make sure if you plan to pay with credit that you have cash as back-up. If their internet goes down then their backup is CASH ONLY. You have to pay in advance for the room so have it on you or a way to pull out of the ATM. Rooms may be labeled non-smoking but they provide an ash tray with a non-smoking sign on the bottom. Funny. Rates are double to triple the rate on football weekends and other special events. This is for all hotels in the city. There ultimate reason for the low grade is the requirement to pay cash if the system is down and the fact the property lied about giving a discount for the inconvenience. The property also is in need of an update. With the inflated price they charge they need to reinvest in property. Lastly, hope there is never a fire because all the rooms I have stayed in have there smoke detectors removed.
Booked room well in advance of visit; a Special Olympics Baseball tournament. Miserable stay. A/C was poor at best, no room. One bed was up against a/c intake, other was hard against wall. One small chair that had no place to go. You either were on bed or stood. Three adults in room. Back to a/c ... it was hot and humid outside. The unit did not remove any moisture and air circulation poor at best. I did not expect the Hyatt; but, I did expect to be comfortable and not cramped. Won’t go back!
The ladies at the front desk were very accommodating. The room was clean. There was no problems with or for our 3 <10# dogs. Grounds were well kept. Property seems somewhat older, but this did not affect our stay. For the activities we were there for, the location was excellent. We were there for g'daughters' softball tournament. Dogs were not allowed at playing field. For our second day we tried to find a day spa, vet or other accommodations for dogs during game. Nothing worked out so we checked back into hotel so dogs could stay while we were at game. It all worked out, we got back into original room before it had been cleaned and that was fine for what we needed. I appreciate front office staff working with us on this.
If you just need a place to sleep, it's ok, Not much else! This is a bare minimum accommodations and not much else. The room was nice even though it reminded me of a motel room from the 60s. The only person I had contact with was the desk clerk and she seemed confused about my reservation. She finally figured it out.
Waiting for a flight from Dallas to Houston & all flights were cancelled due to bad weather. Had to fly to College Station TX & spend the night. Told cab driver at airport I needed a place close to the airport & not a lot of money. He took me to Motel 6. Gentleman (sorry I forgot his name & do not have his card with me). was very nice & put me in a room near the office. Explained where different restaurants & eateries were. The room was clean & had just what I needed. Hot shower & a bed. Hardwood floors instead of carpet was great. Bed was very comfortable. In the morning I walked to McDonald's for breakfast & watched television in my room. Noticed they have vending machines & even a laundromat which I didn't need but thought it was a good idea. Also read that they are pet friendly so will be checking out the Motel 6 locations at the beach so I can take my dog. Great experience & they really came through in a pinch.
The place was ok The Pool was freezing but fun, The staff was nice really what can you expect for the price. The rooms were decent I liked that there was no carpet which was good. But it was a great location.
The staff is friendly, professional and efficient... proficient is the word I believe I'm looking for. I look for a Motel 6 where ever I go. You guys gotta put one in Waikiki, Hawaii. The property was clean and well managed. My room was perfect. Everything worked. It was clean and comfortable. I reserved the room over the office. The light in the room was literally on, the room temp was perfect and the tv was on for me. I don't expect all that but that's why I seriously love Motel 6. I go where I know I'll have a good stay. I wouldn't waste my time going anywhere else. I booked using the app with my account and then called and quickly and easily spoke to an office manager. Remember to treat the staff like human beings. After driving several hundred miles nerves can be on edge. They work hard. texastreeman
I recently had occasion to visit College Station. It was not a fun trip but necessary. My beautiful dog was sick and he had an appointment with the clinic at Texas A&M. We needed a clean, safe room nearby, and preferably for not much money. While there are several hotels in the area that will welcome a pet, all but two add on extra charges, even here, some of them quite large charges. Motel 6 welcomes a well-behaved pet, with no extra charges. If you must leave him in the room during cleaning hours, you'll need to put him in a crate. Around the property, he should be kept on a leash. I found the motel to be reasonably clean, even with all the animals. Inside the room was better. The only bad thing is that the containers for poopie bags are not serviced, so you'll have to carry your own bags, and it seems most people don't bother with that little nicety. The ladies who were in the office at check-in time, Linda and Carol, were very nice and were happy to see my dog and expressed concern for his health. A bonus for me is that, while many Motel 6s are taking out the tubs and installing stingy little showers, this one still has a tub. A pretty nice big tub. A pretty nice big bonus for me after the long drive to get there. Our room had two full size beds and a tv. Nothing special there but, when we travel, Joe likes his bed all to himself. He's a big boy and he will share, but he really likes to stretch out. All this for about $53 per day, including all fees and taxes. So it was a pretty okay deal! I recommend this motel if it meets your needs as well as it met mine.
We booked this hotel because we were going to stay very briefly for a few hours and upon arrival the front desk staff was super friendly and courteous. Nevertheless the room was filthy and terrible. The odor was just something I hope I get to forget about soon enough not to mention the bugs on top of our beds upon entering the room; the bathroom floor was not a good experience either. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. Traveling with kids made this experience even more frustrating. I absolutely don't recommend it for families. As many have said, you get what you pay for; however a little effort can't hurt anyone. Location was ok, we're just glad we made it out of the room by daybreak.
We stayed for one night to attend a football game. The room was moderately clean, sheets and towels were very thin and I found hairs on both. The clientele was pretty sketchy, several men hung out on the walkway outside of our room drinking and smoking for most of the night. It provided us with a place to sleep. I will still be on the lookout for a little nicer, cheap room.
