Manager rude. Room had roaches coming out of walls. Mold in bathroom. Carpets filthy and stained badly. Very loud no matter which room. Walls very thin. Manager Kelvin promised refund then retracted days later.
Not all Baymonts are that super, this one is GREAT. Great staff, great accomodation, great proximity to Texas A&M and TX 6.
We booked the King Suite and it was great. Larger than expected. Everything was clean. The only issue was that the Sofa-bed was full size but not comfortable for the kids (could feel rails through the mattress) .
The Baymont Inn and Suites provided a nice stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The lobby area was clean and inviting. Parking was also plentiful. We were very disappointed that the breakfast closed 20 minutes early on the day of our departure (a Sunday morning of a football weekend). This was surprising. Also, we had read about popcorn available in the lobby, and we saw the machine. However, it was not available at all during the weekend. When I inquired about this, a staff member told me that they "have given a long list of things we need to the manager, but have not gotten the items yet. Popcorn oil is on the list." The customer service aspects were lacking a bit while we were there, but overall the hotel is nice and in a great location.
We found the accommodations fresh, clean, and the staff friendly. This is a quiet place to stay with easy access to many areas near the campus. Breakfast is typical when compared to the La Quinta and Hawthorne Hotels.
This hotel is clean, comfortable, and in a good location. It is a good value with easy access in and out.
We stayed at this hotel for a football game. Rooms were clean, staff was nice and free breakfast. Breakfast was a typical free breakfast, nothing too crazy but just enough. Would stay here again...reasonable price.
First impression was the lobby was junky, cluttered and dated...watched front desk be rude and impatient with another guest checking in, we had no issues. The room given was fine and on the surface everything was great, until I sat down in the chair the early morning of our departure and stirred up a nest of ants. I am not gping to say they were fire ants but the bite marks left on my upper legs lead me to think these were not just typical sugar ants. When we were getting ready in the morning there were ants all over the bathroom and carpet, note we were on 3rd floor. we contacted front desk not to complain or ask for anything but to make aware, but no manager on duty and clerk was indifferent and boarding on rude. We asked to be contacted and left information. Never heard anything, when we called later in day the manger was busy and would call us back...again never called so instead of a good review, I am leaving poor review. Learn to listen to guests, never was going to complain, ask of anything or leave bad review until our issue was ignored. We understand that this is Texas and ants happen. Treat guests better.
I wrote a rave review about a stay at this same hotel about a week earlier. I had to return to College Station unexpectedly and decided to stay at the Baymont again since I had a great experience the first time. This trip I was in a smaller room. The lamps had not been dusted (I had to dust them due to their proximity to the bed). There was a lot of noise from the room on top of ours (we were on first floor). We got there late and there was a note at the check in that they would be right back. After waiting for almost 10 minutes a man in a t-shirt with no name tag helped us. Honestly we were happy he was there even if we couldn't tell he worked there. We just wanted our room.
Hotel is easy to get to from major highways. Also fairly close to the University as well. New hotel and very clean on the outside. Mr Warmth (the guy behind the desk that checked us in), had nothing to say, no smile, no cheerful greeting, no help at all. It was apparent that he was just punching the clock. I finally found a baggage cart hidden away at the opposite end of the hotel. Grabbed our luggage and headed upstairs. Greeted by the slowest elevator on the planet. Finally got to the second floor and discovered the walls were so close to the elevator that I had trouble moving the baggage cart to the hallway. The hallway wasnt much better as it was super dark (this was the middle of the day too) and extremely narrow. After finding our room it was near impossible trying to get the cart into the room so i unloaded the baggage from the hall to the room. The whole building is so narrow, and the room is no exception. The room was tiny yet we were paying a premium rate for it. Bathroom is also tiny but adequate I suppose. The AC had been left off and the room was stiffling....I turned on the AC (window type unit vs central air) and discovered the unit had been pre-set to no go below 66 degree F. I switched the unit to high/fan as the automatic setting made the fan run on low speed. Even at high speed the unit barely put out any cool air......it wasnt until about 11 that evening it finally got comfortable in the room......not real cool, but just enough to keep one from sweating. The TV was a large flat screen type but needed to have the brightness adjusted. It was a super dark picture on each channel selected. TV had no manual adjustments nor did the remote control, so we were stuck straining our eyes to see the picture. At least the bed was fairly comfortable. There is little space in the room for luggage. Little space in the room at all. Walls are paper thin as we could hear our neighbors above and below and folks noisly walking down the narrow hallways. The next morning we checked out the breakfast at the smallest area in the hotel......the breakfast "area" adjacent to the check in/out desk. It is super small, few tables and continental breakfast is just that. If one likes cold cereal, then you will love this place. The hot foods were freshly microwaved in the back room and brought to serving trays out front. Definitely nothing to brag about. Next time we will just sleep in and then go to the local Cracker Barrel, IHOP, or Dennys. Kids running through the place and fingering the breakfast items wasnt very appealing either. Checking out, I met Ms Warmth at the front desk........nothing in the way of cheerful banter, how was your stay, etc.. Got my bell and left. Next time I will pay a little bit extra and stay at a "full-size/adult" hotel and keep away from this place. It wasnt much cheaper to stay here but since it was fairly new, we wanted to give it a try. I tried it.........didnt care for it! Oh yes......the "free" internet never worked.......I asked the desk about it and their response was they were setting up a new internet provider.....funny, thats what some of the Trip Advisor comments said months ago! Suspect it has never worked in this place......another reason not to stay here.
