This property has the potential to be a very nice place to stay but needs lots of work to get there. The grounds were strewn with trash, and the buildings evinced need for paint and upgrading.

It runs more like a motel than a hotel. The room I stayed was super cold because the heater couldn't get hot. The continental breakfast was a disappointment. One staff member kept hovering for some strange reason around the breakfast. The grounds and facilities are alright. The front desk staff are very nice and courteous.

Entrance to the hotel was not inviting. We stayed on the second floor (no elevators). The hairdryer didn't work and when we asked for a replacement, we never received one. Drain in the bathtub was clogged. Our heater started to overheat in the middle of the night and the fumes were horrible. We had to open our door to just air it out. Door to the bathroom needs to be repaired. Carpeting in room needs to be replaced....filthy!!! Entire side wall moves when you close the door. Needless to say....not a good experience.

The room was clean and there is also a restaurant on site the was fantastic the staff is very helpful

Good would stay again staff was helpful room was clean

It was find for one night would go back again staff was friendly needs were taken care of

The hotel was a great value for the price and the staff was very helpful. The TV remote did not work and when I called the front desk it was switched out with no problems. Indoor pool and fresh waffles at breakfast also a plus!!:

Clean. Nice. Staff during breakfast was rude cause we came late and they started cleaning prior to 10am which was said to be the end of breakfast

Even though there was a large foreign tourist group present, the staff was very courteous and efficient in handling our check in.

Not very clean, but good location. very convenient and close to college park.

This hotel is somewhat oddly laid out and could use an overall renovation. In general, nothing was terrible, but the rooms were old and small and the walls were quite thin. We requested inner corridor rooms for added security and they open out on a lobby area where there is an indoor pool, miniature golf, and some other games. As a result, it smelled strongly of chlorine and was very echo-y.

There's nothing really bad to say about this hotel we were comfortable enough there. Some of the staff were quite friendly and competent, and others weren't. The pool and hot tub area was nice. The breakfast was okay. A couple of male staff members took their smoke breaks right outside the doors to the sleeping rooms, which was quite unpleasant, as the smoke came into the rooms. One incident left a bad taste in our mouths, though. We showed two different credit cards (for two rooms) at check-in, but when our college-age kids wanted to charge their meal in the restaurant to the room, they couldn't, resulting in the front desk clerk calling my husband (who had already gone to sleep) on the hotel phone and demanding he bring cash immediately to settle the restaurant bill. He was upset, she was upset, the kids were upset, and the incident was completely avoidable, had we been told at check-in that the restaurant was separate from the hotel (even though they are in the same building) and would have to be paid for separately. I would recommend a sign to that effect be placed both in the check-in area and the restaurant to avoid future confusion.

What a surprise to discover the "FunZone" inside this hotel! Lots of fun things to do. One of the more unique hotels I've ever stayed in. Excellent value.

Decent stay for what we needed. Just need a safe and clean room for the night and the Clarion CP was exactly that. Friendly staff.

Old, old, old. and very neglected, holes in lamp shades, curtains would not close, room heat not steady[either too hot or too cold]. Breakfast very slim, almost broke a tooth on the raisins in the raisin bran, like small stones. Probably would not stay at this company's motel again.

Good price, good location. My girls had fun in the hotel. Would definitely recommend

I had booked this hotel for a weekend football game at UMD based upon location (1 mile from Byrd Stadium within walking distance) and prior reviews which stated it was a decent stay, though not the Ritz. Looking at the pictures online seemed to confirm it was clean and well-kept. Reality couldn't have been farther from the truth. At check-in, the computer system was down, although the staff was friendly and did their best. Looking around, I noticed the "Fundome" looked like it hadn't been updated since the early 1980s. I should've just canceled my reservation at this point, as it foreshadowed the let-down to follow. Upon entering the hotel room, a humid musty smell pervaded. I noticed wallpaper bubbling off the front wall and a microwave which looked like it had punted across the room previously. I attempted to turn on the AC to remove the humidity and musty smell, which upon inspection looked like it had been power bombed off the top turnbuckle (aka - it was fallling apart broken). Even after 24 hours of running, the temperature in the room never decreased, nor did the humidity. The sheets seemed new, however the mattress was uncomfortable and the blankets/comforter were old and ragged - probably needed replaced 15+ years ago. A few more highlights: 2 chairs stained with God only knows what, a light switch in the bathroom that looked as though feces had at one point been smeared into it, a bathtub which had mold stains (removed, but still able to be seen on the granite), lampshades which looked like they had been urinated upon, and fruit flies which appeared and infested the room the next day (I hadn't brough any food into the room). I would have left immediately, but I had driven 7 hours and sucked it up for a night, realizing options close to campus would be limited. Needless to say, we didn't stay the second night, instead opting to drive the 7 hours home tired instead of stay in this flea bag. When I went to check out, hotel staff provided a lovely dose of attitude to make the entire stay a complete experience. Avoid. Pay the extra money and stay up the road in the Hampton or Holiday Inn.

I spent only one night at this hotel. The staff was friendly, and my room was cleaner than I expected. I asked for a nonsmoking room but it smelled like this old cigarette smoke. It was not too bad but needed to turn the air on to cover it up a little. If you plan to sleep and rest, ask for a room not on the main street side. I couldn't sleep from 5 am. That road is very noisy. Public spaces need an update but overall it is a decent place for a short stay. Depending how much you pay. Continental breakfast was sufficient.

Would definitely recommend to other. Staff was great
