Found online..walkable from airport, but not in eyesight so you'll need directions. When we checked in,desk staff seemed a bit rude in their handling of our reasonable questions. We booked their nicest suite and it was very spacious and felt luxurious. All was going well until we had two staff, knock on our door holding up two towels and telling us we must pay for them. One had a couple stains from Indian room service...the other had no visible stains whatsoever. I had to negotiate paying for only one towel (370rupees) before they would leave. So...we're paying full price for their nicest suite, and in the middle of our stay they interrupted our time over a dirty towel....literally airing our "dirty laundry" in the common area of the hotel...and it just gave me/us a distasteful feeling the rest of our stay. They cared more for a towel then their highest paying customers, were rude (even a little aggressive) from check in....and we do not recommend Flora Airport Hotel to anyone who wants courtesy or hospitality during their travels. Had been here for dinner, just before boarding a flight. The food was tasty, but need to confess that the portion size was too small. In fact, even though we had dinner at this place, had to have another one soon after reaching our destination of 1 hour flight !!!!
Had a nice time in Cochin, because of flora hotel. I visited the restaurant last month. I loved the food over there, and I would like to say thank you for the executive chef Roy pothen and chef Eldho for making our day delicious with his food..
We booked this hotal prior to departing, it is near the airport and say that it is a few minutes walk. That is true but the walk is almost impossible, no pavements and on a busy ++ ring road. Hotal nice, but so noisy. The say they have a number of restruants, but some only open for functions. Had emailed ahead to see spa option, prior to a long flight, emailed again as no information forthcmng, so unblievably expensive and then the spawas shut (hours before what their website says). So thought to have a relaxing swin and this too was shut, ahread of their scheduled times. Reception staff wanted to book us a taxi, rather then their advertised free airport transfer. The hotel does not have have a bar, I was informed that it is a Muslim hotal, that's fine but I think they could have mentioned this. We eat at the hotel down the road and onlooking it up on the internet we would have saved money, for what was effectively a 8 hours stay. No this other hotel didn't have a spa or a swimming pool, but there again the Flora effectively didn't have either. I'm sorry I couldn't recomment this hotel, their website information is misleading and frankly it's overpriced for what it fails to offer. A poor end to a great holiday
Perfect for a cancelled or delayed flight that forces you to stay longer in the city tha planned! Which makes the location perfect, less than 5 minutes from the airport. If you plan to visit the city it's not really advisable. As the name describes it, it is an airport hotel, very very clean and tidy rooms and washrooms, perfect for a short stop-over. A special mention of the staff ... really polite and courteous and went out of the way to organise a car and driver for me at 3 am since I was unwell and had to see a doctor ... though they don't have a 24-hour travel desk. The airport pick-up and drop facilty is complimentary. Have to also mention that I was impressed that the hotel was unusually quiet though it is an airport hotel and did have lot of guest coming in all day, that she s plus. Room service could be a little quicker, menu had quite a few options- reasonably priced and 24-hour kitchen. The dinner buffet spread was terrible- in terms of both options and quality of food, decided to order a-la-carte which was not too good either. Breakfast buffet was a good spread, one may not like most things but with the variety you can sure grab at least one thing to fuel yourself! Would stay again if required, only I'd avoid the restaurant and stick to a Sandwich and coffee in my room .
The Flora Airport Hotel at Cochin Airport is a modern 3 to 4 star hotel just outside the airport entrance, so it is extremely convenient with regards to catching flights. The rooms are comfortable and fitted with the standard accessories and conveniences you would expect in an Airport Hotel. The wi-fi was free and available in your room. It was also the fastest we experienced in all Kerala - a 3 minute You Tube Video could be watched with no buffering. The staff are very kind, polite, helpful and friendly, although I would make one exception to the high quality of the hotel staff. I tried arranging a couple of trips through the Hotel's Travel Desk. The man behind the counter had a vague grasp of English and communication was rather difficult. I ended up getting one of the Reception Staff to translate so I knew what I was being understood. The information he had on tours or sightseeing was very much a case of "Here's the brochure - do you want me to book you on the tour ? Yes or No ?" It was very much a 'take it or leave it' situation. If you wanted to do something slightly different to what was in the brochures, you would have troubles with this guy. All in all, the hotel is a very standard, good quality airport hotel and anyone staying there would get a very standard, good quality experience. The best things about the hotel are actually not part of the hotel. First of all, the food in the hotel is pretty standard airport hotel food. Uninspiring, mass produced and rather (for India) expensive. Right next door however, is a food court that is clean, air conditioned and staffed by some of the happiest people I have met in India. The food is local, cheap and excellent. Do not eat in the hotel. Eat here. They even have Baskin Robbins ice cream as a decadent western dessert if you need a bit of a western fast food fix. Secondly, about 25 minutes ride in a car (We arranged this through the hotel receptionist and the hotel travel desk) to the Abhayaranyam Shelter for Orphaned Wildlife. If you have a copy of The Lonely Planet Guide for South India and Kerala, on page 303, it talks about the Kodanadu Elephant Training Camp. That training camp closed in March 2017 and moved to new premises - Abhayaraanyam. This place is brilliant. We arrived there at about 9 in the morning and they were washing the elephants with a hose and scrubbing brush. We were immediately invited to come join in, so we had a brilliant time scrubbing an elephant. It says it opens at 9am but if you get there earlier (say 8am) they will still let you in and you can join the elephants for a swim in the river. There are other things to do and see there, making it well worth the visit. And it is close to the Flora Airport Hotel. The third good thing about Flora Airport Hotel is that it is a long way from the centre of Cochin. The roads into town are totally congested and more pot holes than road. If you were staying at a hotel in Cochin city centre and had to rush to catch a flight, you have absolutely no chance. If you want to do the tourist thing and visit Fort Cochin, stay in the Airport Hotel, take a car to the nearest railway station, then take the train to the town centre, then a ferry to Fort Cochin. It will be quicker than a car, and you won't arrive feeling like a pea in a tin can that has been strapped to the deck of a ship in the middle of a storm. The car ride to Fort Cochin took us an hour and three quarters. The ferry, train and tuk-tuk back took less than an hour and was much more relaxing (even the tuk-tuk ride). The Flora Airport Hotel is an airport hotel - it has few (nil) facilities for children and as a tourist, there are probably better hotels around. If however you have a flight that leaves early in the morning, this is the place for you. A quick comment about Cochin Airport - it is brand new and magnificent AND it is completely powered by solar. It has a field full of solar panels and storage batteries and is totally off the grid. It is modern, user friendly and well designed. Entering or leaving India through Cochin Airport would be a great start or finish to your journey. And if you stay at the Flora Airport Hotel Cochin, you will be well situated and well looked after.
Great location for the airport, making it very easy if you have an early flight. A free shuttle is included which is also a bonus. The food in the restaurant is not that good and is very overpriced for the quality. The rooms are clean, but the night I was there, there were two power cuts and after the second one the tv woud no longer work. I couldn’t be bothered to complain as I was only there for the night. I would probably stay here again, but only for the convenience of the location to the airport.
Our very first hotel at God's Own Country and we were not disappointed. The hotel is just a stone's throw from Cochin Airport. We arrived late night and was picked up by the hotel staff. Check-in was a breeze and we had all 3 rooms in the ground floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and in excellent condition. We had a comfortable night stay.
We had a short stay for about 7 hours one night. The room given first was in the ground floor and we couldnt sleep coz of the heavy vehicle noise from the nearby flight catering kitchen. Requested room change but answer was hotel is full, so had to threaten checking out to get a room change to a higher floor on the opp side. Rooms are cleans, smart controls but too many small blinking lights from the electronic units. Saw one mosquito inside the room and had to ask for a repellent. Value for money room but they could do well with better sound proofing.
I stayed in this hotel during last week of Sep 2017. We were upgraded to executive room and it was very spacious and clean. We had excellent time in this hotel. The food is awesome & tasty. Nice place to relax before or after your flight travel.
