I've heard that Motel 6 is revamping their rooms/image, so decided to give this location a try - big mistake. The room was recently renovated, however that renovation did not include the bathroom. The tub/shower surround had obvious water damage (walls rippling, mold/mildew on caulked areas) and there was no lid on the toilet (just a seat). Although this Motel 6 does not offer shampoo/conditioner or hair dryers - both of which I needed - I decided to brave the disgusting tub/shower and take a quick shower. Upon using the towel, I discovered several hairs that were not mine. There really was nothing good about this Motel 6 and I would suggest you stay there only if absolutely necessary.
The front desk staff at check in, was not friendly, and didn't seem to really want to be there. The room was as expected for an I-5 corridor Motel 6 . The air conditioner worked. The bed slept OK. The room could have been cleaner, with dust and dirt around the edges of cabinets, etc. During early morning check out, the front desk staff was not able to print a receipt. I asked them to email it to me, and he assured me he would, I had to call 2 weeks later to get a receipt emailed to me. I was disappointed in the staff this stay, but will probably stay here again, due to convenient location.
Drove 'til I couldn't drive and stopped. The Travelodge nearby ($57) had 3 cars in the lot and looked a crime scene with body fluids. MORE than happy to pay a late arrival rate of $106 for a VERY clean room with fridge, microwave, a decent breakfast included, and a welcoming staff. Free internet, good bed, air, and window coverage. Tub backed up and staff was eager to fix.
Best Western next door was full - had to stay there. It was ok for an overnight - we arrived late. Motel 6 offers basic accommodation. OK room. Dirty hotel grounds. Use Motel 6 only if there is really nothing else.
My husband book Motel 6 on our trip to Coalinga. He picked a non smoking room downstairs. We already came late we just want to rest and leave in the morning. But I was so disgusted with our room, I can't even move on the bed. There bunch of black bugs crawling on the wooden floor and also on the bathroom floors which is tiles. I couldn't sleep thinking these bugs will crawl on our bags and suitcase. My husband kept picking them up with tissue paper and threw them out and then there's more and more. I have no sleep the whole because of this disgusting motel. Traveler shouldn't experience this. I wish my husband pick Best Wester which is nearby but according to home he had no other place coz it's fully booked everywhere. This is really a bad experience and will never stay at this ever!!!
Check in time as early in the A.M. is as early as 6. The rooms where SO nice! Beds were amazing. The new updated rooms are modern and spacious. The pool was very nice. Oh and also the CHEAPEST in town.
I would like to give Motel 6 in Coalinga a 5 star review! Check-in was speedy! The day I arrived, it was about 100 degrees outside. Let me tell you that upon entry I was in heaven as I walked into a crispy cold and clean remodeled room. The room was perfect for a night's rest without any drama or complications! They even had a pool outside for your refreshing pleasure. So as the evening approached so did my appetite. Thanks to the local Denny's I was able to take care of my hunger. They also have Burger King and a Chevron Station to fuel up before heading up or down the Interstate 5. In the morning I checked out without any delays, grabbed some coffee from the lobby and was wished a nice trip by the staff. So if u need a resting place when going up or down the Interstate 5 this is your go place! Did I mention it was only $53 a night!? Also, for $5.00 more u get high speed internet. Best deal on the Interstate 5! Thank you for such a nice stay! Richard M.
The town itself smells like manure.Even inside The Restraunt Dennys. Staff was rude. Rooms appeared to be updated. The airconditioner was set and we were inable to lower it any it was very hot. Bugs that looked like small black Beatles kept crawling under the door from outside.
We were traveling back home from Christmas and stopped at this Motel 6. As most Motel 6 they are very basic but it was late and we just needed a place to sleep. Room was clean. I have no qualms with the room; however, 2 months later I received an email regarding my "upcoming reservation" at this motel through booking.com. I had not made this new reservation. I contacted booking.com and they stated it was a computer glitch. I also emailed Motel 6 and have never received contact back. Beware that although you go in the businesses website often the reservation is being booked thru another site as happened to me. Will not stay at Motel 6 again because of this.
After a 2 week holiday we decided to stop off on the way back to San Francisco hoping to get a good night's sleep before the long flight home. Motel 6 most certainly did not enable this. Given the cost we paid (60USD) we were by no means expecting luxury but what we were expecting was a clean room, decent-ish bed and a peaceful night. The room in itself was adequate but the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on however. To top this off, we had a family who moved in next door at around 11pm with several children who proceeded to spend the rest of the night whinging and crying extremely loudly. Several of us complained to reception but this clearly didn't result in any action. As a paying customer, I'd have expected the hotel staff to go down to the room and tell the family to leave unless they were able to show some more consideration. The walls of the hotel are so thin you can hear entire conversations in neighbouring rooms - no privacy. We weren't looking for luxury, just a basic clean and peaceful night. Motel 6 certainly failed on this. DO NOT STAY HRE!!!
