Oak Wood Hotel

This hotel has been remodeled since our last stay about three years ago; fresh and bright. The rooms are spacious and the shower marvelous. We had dinner in the pub/restaurant and it was very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel only 2 miles from Shannon airport with all suitable amenities.

Very average hotel. By far the most expensive place we stayed in our 10 days in Ireland and no breakfast was included. The restaurant/bar has nice dinner and drinks menus. Our airport shuttle was a half-hour late (proximity to the airport was our primary reason for choosing to stay here), but the driver was duly apologetic and gave us the lift for free. We caught our international flight home just as boarding had begun.Very stressful departure morning!

Nice hotel for a short visit. The updates are beautiful and modern, but the wi-fi was not very strong. Would recommend if you are looking for clean, quiet hotel for a couple of nights.

Great meal, reasonably priced, in the dining room. Quiet & conveniently located by major road.

I understand I did not pay full price for the room but I did pay close to it (not much of a discount) and that it was only one night- but the room it self was very worn, with rust stains in the toilet and the tub. The carpets were thin and stained and a definite musty smell. The shower is uncomfortable if you are tall and no HOT water- only luke warm. It left a lot to be desired- even if it was just for one night.

Our room had enough spiders to keep us from catching all the sleep we desperately needed for our next leg of our trip. We killed two upon arrival (and these are not small spiders either), another two when we got back and a large one we could not catch. The tub and toilet had rust stains, no hot water- just luke-warm- in the bath, and carpets were patchworked in the hallways and the ones in the room were thin and stained. I know we did not pay a lot of money but for the same amount I could have stayed elsewhere and had better accommodations. The staff however are extremely helpful and try to assist you as much as possible.

The hotel itself was ok. Rooms were clean and as expected for the price. The staff member at the desk however huffed and acted like we were bothering her when checking in. Short ine word answers and not helpful at all when I asked about food. Not the experience I had anywhere else we stayed (we traveled around the whole outside of the country).

Our 2 room suite was old and in bad shape. Windows couldn't be opens and were dirty. Drapes were coming off rods and wouldn't close properly for privacy (room open to parking lot). Just disappointing.

Cheap hotel but very nice. The aviation theme was a nice touch.

Having the continental breakfast setup at 5 a.m. was a real winner.

Great place to stay in SNN. Breakfast is good. Excellent restaurant and bar.

Great location for Shannon Airport.. Very easy to get to airport from this hotel. Great to have a nice breakfast before our flight.

We stayed at the Oakwood Arms the night before we were to fly back to the States. We had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable. In the morning breakfast starts at 5 AM so you can get a bite before leaving for an early morning flight.

This is a lovely hotel. It has real character, which makes it fun and interesting. Being close to the airport means it takes only a few minutes and a few dollars to get there. An interesting note: Just across the street from the hotel there is a small pizza shop. Since I didn't feel like a big meal, I decided to try the pizza. It was wonderful!

Close to the airport 10Euro cab ride. Food was good service was very good. Great breakfast!

We stayed here twice at the beginning and the end of our journey due to its proximity to the airport. Our first room was small, musty with an old double bed. The second room was a king bedded room for 20 euros more but brighter and not smelly. Breakfast was not bery good ( lousy eggs, watery juice) but the bar and lunch menu was good. it was inconsistent but adequate. The wait staff was excellent but front desk was not as helpful as they could have been.

I was surprised at previous, excellent reviews of this hotel - the price is attractive but you are getting a good price near Shannon Airport because the hotel is outdated, both the rooms and the common areas. However, if like me, you only need accommodations for one night, go for it. It was nice to have a breakfast buffet included in the price. The food was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The manager of the restaurant was very nice to me at night, as I needed a late meal, and he was able to accommodate me after 9:30, when the kitchen closes. However, the bar stays open until 3am! There was Irish music playing at dinner, which was a plus.

Employees didn't know how to get us the twin we had reserved rather than double. There was a wedding and wake going on Thurs. at 6 when we checked in and no parking but in the far back. Desk told us access from the back but not true so we had to trudge back and forth twice to get baggage. Room was nice but had an extra cot set up in it so hard to maneuver, and food in pub was good, but the desk personnel weren't even there when we went to checkout so we left without getting a receipt!

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and easy to find of the highway. Only a few minutes from Bunratty Castle and an easy find from there. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable (and large). We had a fabulous dinner at "Sophie's Lounge" and breakfast the next morning (included) had a welcomed variety of everything you could ask for. For the price, we certainly did not expect such luxury! Can't beat it! Will for sure stay there on our next trip to Shannon.
