stayed here mid march, for 1 night in a family room, not great first impressions, both receptionists couldn't crack a smile between them, not friendly at all, on the trek to our family room there was dried paint and dirt along the carpets - very slack, the family room was a dive, stains everywhere, cup ring stains on both bedside lockers, stains on the wardrobe, and stains all over the bathroom worktop surrounding the sink, the radiator in the room was covered in marker, dirt and rust - the bar area is very tired and dated, mismatched furniture and the dinner we got that evening wasn't nice at all, I ordered a pasta with chorizo and it was very cheap tasting, just thrown together and slopped onto the plate, kids got chicken goujons and chips, they barely touched the chips, not nice at all, the area we were sitting in was off the main bar, absolutely freezing out there and no atmosphere, the waitress that brought out our food didn't even hand us our food individually, she just practically slammed each plate onto our table and left, the only good thing about the hotel is the swimming pool which the kids enjoyed and the changing room was nice, shower wasn't working in 1 of the stalls however and the water is general in the showers was way too hot, breakfast was very poor, no croissants or pastries, help yourself to a luke warm fry, juices were the cheapast of the cheap, the dining area for the breakfasts was so tacky - definitely would not recommend this hotel --- we booked through and paid €30 per adult for B&B - I know you "get what you pay for" but this place took the biscuit

I would recommend this hotel for people visiting the area, especially families. It’s an older hotel, rooms especially, however it is clean, well laid out, food is lovely and staff are very helpful and friendly. I was there with my own family, two sisters and theirs and my parents, 8 adults and 5 kids, we all had such a lovely, fun and memorable time at the Auburn. We would all definitely go back.

Have stayed before so I knew that the rooms are in need of a freshen up but there was no excuse for the state of the room 239. My husband doeant like fuss so he wouldnt let me complain but the photos will speak for themselves. A lot of dust. Old and discoloured plug hole. Crumbs on the floor from a previous guest. Pistachio nut shell on the floor from a previous guest. Crazy creepy wall tiles on the bathroom walls. 1950's Hairdryer. My husband decided to run bath at around half 8......trickle trickle. Thats all that came out of the hot tap I would like to stay that the food is always lovely in both the Bar and Restuarant and the staff are always friendly. The gym and pool are very clean. Just please do something about your room cleaning standards and decor

Stayed here on a living social deal..didn't expect too much for the price but were pleasantly surprised..the staff were every pleasant and helpful..the food was gorgeous..the room was clean and comfortable..the pool was one of the best hotel pools we have ever clean and well run..very pleasant stay overall..

Stayed here this week. Booked a few weeks ago with a set price for a family of 5 including brealfast. Upon check in on the 3/4/18. We were told a higher amount to be payed!!. We went to our room to phone up the front desk to avoid any confirtation infront of fellow guests and our kids. The lady said she would look into it and get back to us. 24hrs past no word back in regards to our enquiry! So we mentioned it again, to be told the manager was dealing with the girl who booked us in and she would contact us, she never did!! Checking out we were just told thanks and bye and no word about our over charge ( being we booked with a fixed rate and were told and charge an extra €50 on arrival implying we got it wrong). Very unprofessional!! Im home now and still no word even though i reviewed directing on the facebook contact page!. The room was dirty with cup/glass stains on the bathroom counter also red/pink of what i believe are hair dye stains on the counter and a badly stained bath. The first night my 3yr old toddler mushed some chocolate into the duvet sheet matteress sheet and pillow case. I left them neatly exposed for the cleaners the next morning with the idea they would be seen and changed. We showed up after a day out to discover they didnt not change the bed but remade a dirty bed which had to be slept in. Only the beds were made, the room wasnt freshened up or hoovered or bathroom wiped clean. Im not overally fussy but i payed for a service and yous pay your staff to carry out a dutie. The food was ok is seemed like we recieved heated up gravy as the texture was jellow like what i can only describe as shampoo consistency!!. The rest of the dinner was fine and breakfast good.. also with the rooms we had 1 pillow each, very unsuportive to sleep with and 1 spare pillow between 5 of us. We were hear 2 years ago, just 2 adults and love it.. this stay was very unenjoyable and i will not be again and ill be getting to the bottom of our overcharge!!

Our stay at the Auburn Lodge ...this hotel contains the following: real people with warmth who work there, (remember that forgotten art of eye contact and pausing to LISTEN and chat with good humour?), fireplaces with (gas) fires actually on, lots of dark wood and plush deep red coloured furnishings which belie the grey skies outside. Lovely pool/spa area as well. And yes, what a unique sprawling layout! What this hotel DOESN'T have: an ultra modern, haute cuisine, trendy mass produced look of many a soulless purpose built hotel which looks great on Instagram or whatever (along with mobile phone obsessed staff who match that image)... Sure each to their own. We found this hotel to be typically Irish in the best quirky and welcoming sense, where nothing is a problem.. and on that a big thumbs up to the Entertaining Edna who was a superstar at breakfast.

Quiet location,Ok, the hotel is outdated and you do need a map to find your room but the friendly staff make up for all of this. The food in both the restaurant and the bar was typical Irish and average

Very enjoyable 2 night stay.Room a bit dated but very comfortable and clean, flat screen TV with satellite channels and great shower. Breakfast was the best we've had in any hotel with the bonus of pancake machine.Dinner was also delicious but limited to set menu in restaurant. Excellent leisure facilities, all the Staff we're friendly and hard working. Conveniently located with ample car park and close enough to town centre for leisurely stroll. We would recommend hotel and hope to revisit.

Reading some of the reviews, we were a little uncertain as to what to expect... However, my wife and myself had a very enjoyable stay in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom, bathroom and everywhere else we were in the hotel was fine and clean. There was NO musty smell as others have stated and the room was well furnished including an excellent flat screen TV with loads of channels. Loads of hot water for showering and very comfortable bed. The room wasn't ultra modern but I would describe it as homely. The breakfast was very good, well cooked and buffet style. Big pots of tea and coffee to your table. We didn't have an evening meal, but sure smelt good from outside the restaurant. There is a big leisure centre with pool and jacuzzi, well equipped exercise rooms and several treatment rooms offering from massage to nails. There is a big carpark. The hotel is well back from the road so no problem with traffic noise which is pretty light anyway as there is now a motorway bypass. You are about 1Km from McDonalds and 1.5Km from town centre. If driving take the exit north of Ennis from the motorway as far easier to reach hotel.

We stayed 2 nights in the Auburn Lodge on St.Patricks weekend and we really had a very relaxing time. We used the pool twice each day and everything was to our liking. The food in both the restaurant and the bar was really excellent and we enjoyed every one of the dishes we ordered. The rugby match between Ireland and England was shown on a big screen in the bar and the atmosphere was terrific.
