We loved our stay at Regent Petite France & Spa! The rooms are large, comfortable and our room had a lovely view of the Ill River. Everywhere we went in the hotel the service was impeccable! The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is very charming. The breakfast served in the morning is plentiful, with an amazing array of choices. We had one dinner at the restaurant and the food and service were wonderful. If the weather is nice, sitting out on the terrace for a meal is delightful. Perhaps my only criticism is that while on the terrace enjoying our meal, people all around us were smoking and in very close proximity to us. While I know this is not uncommon in restaurants in European cities, it really takes away from the enjoyment of the meal and the space. I highly recommend the Regent Petite France & Spa!!

My wife and I visit Europe pretty often, and there is a certain type of hotel we try to find: in the old town, small, boutique, waterfront, room with a balcony or terrace, . . . Often, we make a reservation for a specific room, if there's enough information, and if not, at least a specific room type. It's not so much that we're fussy as it is that, when we're on vacation, we really want to enjoy the experience. Our fall trip to Europe last year was to Alsace, a part of France we'd never visited before, with stays in Colmar and Strasbourg (and, of course, a couple of days stopover in Paris on the way home). We had booked a room at the Hotel Régent Petite France & Spa for the Strasbourg leg of our trip, and it was nearly perfect, even though their rooms lack a balcony or terrace. We were upgraded to a corner suite, which looked out onto two canals and the Place Benjamin Zix, and that certainly went a long way to make up for the lack of a terrace. Google Maps says it's an 11 minute walk from the train station to the hotel, and we find that these walks normally takes less time than predicted, even with luggage. The walk from the hotel to the Cathedral (one of the very top attractions for visitors to Strasbourg) is about the same 11 minutes, so it's evident that the hotel is perfectly located for someone intent on exploring Strasbourg on foot. In addition to enjoying the very spacious suite, our room had its own espresso machine (a Nespresso Pixie, just like the one we have at home), so we could have a cup of espresso whenever the mood hit us. This was the third French hotel in a row we'd stayed in (Colmar on this trip and Collioure in May 2016) that had this machine in the room, and it's a feature that we whole-heartedly endorse! The Regent Petite France is a five star hotel with a top 10 rating (6 of 127) and 1,000 reviews on Trip Advisor, so they hardly need our endorsement. But it was so perfectly located, the staff was so congenial, and the hotel and its restaurant so pleasant, that it seemed worth noting.

I enjoyed the nicely but unusual decoration in the rooms, the location over the river. The breakfast is served in a room overlooking the water ( so do not stay in the first part where the buffet is located ).

I would love to give this place a better review but in all honesty just cannot. Let's start with the good. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building and very well located. The interior has been modernized and looks lovely as did our room. The man at reception was very friendly and helpful. The A/C in the room worked reasonably well. Now for the bad. The carpet where you enter the bathroom was wet and we soon found out why. They have, as do most European hotels, one of those quarter glass screens in the tub but in this case it does not seal well at the base so after a shower the room is flooded. We asked if they could do anything about it but we were told to just hand hold the shower nozzle carefully and not put it in the wall mount which is absolutely ridiculous especially as they claim to be a five star hotel. Next, this is a university town with the second largest university in France after only Paris yet the internet is ridiculously slow, easily the worst we have ever had in any hotel, which too is unacceptable in a five star hotel. After over an hour of not being able to download anything and a few calls to reception they gave us access to the upgraded level and then it was fine but it should work without this. Third we had a light that was burnt out in the bathroom so when we left for dinner we asked to have it fixed but on our return five hours later it hadn't been done. There was also no turn down at night and no bottles of water left.

From the very start, the staff at this hotel was fantastic--and it is the staff that makes a hotel truly great. Fashioned from a old mill, this place has a ton of character. We had a junior suite that was very cool. They did a great job of keeping the old elements of the hotel with an updated style. And, it is in the heart of the city. Our junior suite was perfect for our family of four. The smaller bed upstairs can easily sleep tow children comfortably. The accommodations in the room are well appointed as well. We highly recommend this hotel.

This is the best hotel I have stayed at in Strasbourg. A couple of years ago, I stayed at the Cour de Corbeau but this is much better. The location is very good and the rooms are much bigger (the room I had was at least twice the size of the one at the Cour de Corbeau) and better appointed. Service was friendly.

Fantastic location!!! First class service all the way!!! Our room overlooking the river was breathtaking. Service was outstanding, room immaculate and very well appointed. We honestly could not have asked for a better hotel, walking distance to everything.

visited strasbourg as a weekend getaway but also to check the destination out for international meetings & conference business. A fantastic destination as well as hotel. Regent Petite France is right in the very heart of everything. The view from room 124 could not be any better I think and it's beautiful terrace a great spot to just let the world go by at any time of the day. Breakfast is lovely and perfect to be enjoyed outside right next to the river. Staff is super hospitable. I think the receptionist's name was Catherine, who made dinner reservations for us at Bistro Coco, she really understood what we were looking for. This hotel truly is a gem and makes a stay in Strasbourg even more memorable.

We stayed here several years ago, an excellent place to stop, every thing went well - there were numerous signs prohibiting vehicular parking - but as long as the hotel did the parking there were no problems.

A modern hotel built out of a former Ice Factory. Bedding is delightful, breakfast include for a fee, is substantial. If you are going, request a canal view. The street side is noisy with late night partiers and early morning deliveries
