Even though my room had prominently displayed no smoking signs my room very clearly had been smoked in--a lot. Cheap air freshener couldn't cover it and made it worse. I did not sleep well here and can't recommend.

The location is great for shopping, dining, and drinking. The downside is that if you are on the alley side it is VERY LOUD! I was kept awake until 2 many nights. Also, the garbage trucks and deliver trucks for the businesses begin at 6:30 most mornings. Once the trucks stopped I thought I could sleep in, I was wrong the staff is loud too! They stood in front of my door with a do not disturb sign hanging and yelled down the hallway about their work.

I booked primarily for the proximity to Miami University. I did not expect the charm and friendliness of the staff. I was greeted as if I were a well-awaited friend. My room key was ready for me before I arrived. It was after midnight and the hospitality was greatly appreciated.

Location was great. Room was very nice. Staff as xcellent

Great location for visiting Miami of Ohio! Just off the main street in downtown Oxford, close to shopping and restaurants!

Maid service was poor. Rooms small. Hot water random. Pricey for value.

Nice hotel and excellent location. Unfortunately, it was very expensive, no hot water and noisy (there was a hockey team that made noise in the wee hours). I told the staff and no compensation was given.

This hotel provided just what I needed. A comfortable spot in walking distance to Miami U and a variety of restaurants. It's a friendly, clean and pleasant hotel at a good price and an excellent location. The fitness room is tiny, no pool, not big on amenities that many of us don't actually need. Parking in adjacent garage at the very reasonable price of $6 a night. I would definitely stay there again.

Pillows are hard and lumpy. Otherwise everything is good.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before, but this last time I was assigned a room on the north side (#325). While I we heard some noise from bar patrons when we went to bed, I had no idea what was ahead. After bar closing time (circa 1:30), I was treated to nearly continuous cycle of trash cans full of beer bottle being emptied into a dumpster under my window. As if that wasn't enough, this dumpster has a compacting maching attached to it that would be run after each trash can, causing additional noise and further breaking glass. This cycle continued until after 3:45 am! To make it even worse, a short 3 hours later, a garbage truck came by to empty the dumpster bringing with it all the noise you would assicated with such! When I brought my concerns to the attention of the front desk in the morning, I was met with the most unsimpathetic explanation of how they can control noise from outside of the hotel. A most ridiculous and unsatisfying response. At the very least, management needs to provide a warning to guests checking into these rooms (and maybe ear plugs). Alterntively, they need to invest in higher quality windows and noise absorbing window treatments. Beware -- If you decide you want to stay at the Elms due to the location -- Do not stay in a room on the north side!

Very comfortable beds and pillows, and convenient location!

It was a comfortable hotel and we would likely stay there again. The only issue was our parking pass didn’t open the gate in the garage but the front desk staff was very responsive.

The hotel is very conveniently located on Main St., just off of High Street. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. The only thing that bothered me is the fan of the heating system never turned off. There was no "auto" option, just low or high. It was loud, and dry in the room.

Great location makes it a hot spot for college students. The hotel was loud on Friday night with thumping base late into the night. Internet is slow but room is very comfortable.

The elms hotel has a chance to be the hotel needed in a lot of college towns. Upscale, close to downtown and campus, lots going on. However, the sound insulation between the ball room and the hotel rooms needs to be upgraded. The party was well under way when we arrived at 9:30pm and we could hear it clearly one floor up. To their credit, the music did end at eleven. The "continental" breakfast was lame and there were no other options. A couple of choices of commercial muffins that weren't fully cooked, some yogurt that was past it's expiration date, a few granola bars, bananas, and a choice of canned juice. For the $50 premium over the Hampton, they should hire the Hampton to show them how to do a "serve yourself" breakfast.
