Location, location, location! Close to tourist attractions and subways.

I would without hesitation stay here again. Location is great, maybe 10 - 12 minutes walk to HongYaDong, 6 minutes to metro station, and you are right in the busy downtown/tourist area with the shopping, restaurants that surround JieFangBei memorial tower. As others have noted, the ground floor lobby area is totally nothing to look at, in fact looks kind of low end, not very clean, but the 9th floor lobby is well-done, clean, with a free pool and fusball table :D. Rooms are clean and large, though the decor is somewhat pedestrian. Having a washer/dryer in the bathroom was very, very convenient ... although the dryer in ours did not work.

This place is a "serviced apartment" rather than a hotel but I couldn't tell the difference except that it came with a kitchenette and a washer/dryer, which was great as I was just running out of clean shirts. It's right downtown, walking distance to lots of attractions, and close to two metro stations. The room was very comfortable. There are quite a few scuff marks around and the hotel doesn't have a brand new feel anymore but it's still fine. Breakfast was good.

Convenient location to Jiefangbie shopping area, metro, and Hongya Cave area. Clean, modern room with kitchenette for those who want to cook in their room. Though we felt the breakfast needs some attention (more options), it was adequate.

Love the apartment style of this hotel... though Chongqing food is awesome, the full-size fridge, kitchenette, and living room made coming back at night an exercise in easy relaxation. It's got a great location just off the liberation monument plaza, and as of this writing still affords a great view of the river and that temple whose name I always forget. The friendly staff are an added bonus. If you want to stay in Jiefangbei in a nice global quality hotel, this is a good bet.

great location, lots of space
